Based on the mission itself, there's a lot of good reasons to contribute to Mozilla. But in this video, I wanted to focus a bit more on taking full advantage of the contributions you've made. And to do this, I'm going to go over a few concrete things that you can do. One thing you can do in particular, is find any bug where you are mentioned in, click your name, and go to profile. And you have a profile here which you could include in your resume. Or you could include on your website to promote yourself. Even better than this profile page though, what's more valuable is if you go to search for bugs here. So you just go to Search, and then Advanced Search, and then for Status put resolved, and for Resolution put Fixed. And then down here, the bug assignee, just put your name [email] there. And then click search. And this shows a long list, hopefully a long list of bugs that you've actually finished. And including this on your resume, shows people how you interact, and it also shows people how you code. Because each of these bugs, will typically have a link to the changeset where your code actually landed. One more thing that you can do, is that you can go to hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/pushloghtml?user= and put your username there. That will actually show you all your commits that you've done as well. So again you can use this on your resume, or on your website. So more things that you can do, is if you have a github profile, and if you don't you should create one. And github shows you all your contributions here. So you can actually get all of your Mozilla contributions to show up here as well. All you need to do is fork the github repository for mozilla-central. That would be mozilla/gecko-dev there's other ones for gaia for example, just browse on mozilla/ to see which ones you want to be part of. And once you do that, any push that you do will show up here as a changeset. And again including your github in your resume might help you by showing people your work ethic and how you code. Also if you try to get added to one of the projects at Mozilla, you'll get this organization stamp right here for Mozilla. And I think that will help you as well. Finally one more concrete thing you can do, is you can create a Mozillians profile And I actually have a separate video for this so I'm not going to get into it. But just having that profile as well, shows that you're part of the community of Mozilla. There's obviously a lot more reasons to contribute. There's the intrinsic motivation, there's working with very smart people, there's learning opportunities But I just wanted to go over this video to show you how you can promote your contributions.
