Taichung City, Taiwan, is famous for its lively streets, markets, and universities. It hosts a diverse student population, all striving for a promising future. Taichung is an ideal location for engaging with students on a spiritual level. The Come n See Cafe is right in the heart of the Central District, close to many universities. It was established because of your support of the 13th Sabbath Offering in 2021. The café is a place where people can connect, explore spirituality, and find a sense of community. Our customer is our neighbor, so they don't know our Jesus. We want to relate Him to them, so we prepared this place. Before this urban center of influence, or UCI, was established, Pastor Kwon was deeply involved in Public Campus Ministry, actively reaching out to teaching and introducing God's love to students across several campuses in innovative ways. Drawing on the rich experience, Pastor Kwon saw an opportunity for off-campus ministry. He envisioned creating a space where students could come to enjoy good food and also learn more about Jesus. They came here. They read the Bible with us, so we have a Bible meeting with them. Once a month, we have a Friday night fellowship with our university students. We prepare a Bible story to share with them. Through the Public Campus Ministry, some students have found their way to faith in Christ and are now eager to participate in the ministry while nurturing their newfound beliefs. The café also employs students who can't find jobs that allow them to keep Sabbath. The appeal of Korean culture and cuisine has captivated a lot of students' attention, so the café serves authentic Korean dishes originating from Pastor Kwon's home country. Come n See also offers free Korean language classes, cooking workshops, and social events, which attract new customers like Gary. I open my Google map and see this restaurant, and the comment below is very good and tell me that the food here is good, and the environment makes people feel comfortable, so I think it's the reason why I came here. Since its establishment in August 2022, the outreach of the Come n See Cafe has extended beyond the student population. Families visiting the café also find an opportunity to discover Christ, thanks to carefully selected books in the restaurant. One day, a mom and her kids visited our café. The kids spotted a Bible Friends book on the shelf and started looking at it. While flipping through the book, she enjoyed the culinary delights from our café. When they left, the mom was very happy. They began visiting our café regularly to continue reading the Bible Friends book. Dong, who is a student working part-time as a cook, realizes that every role can make a meaningful contribution to God's work. I love working here because, through my service, my customers get a feel of what Jesus is like. Our café is a place where we can share the gospel with Taiwanese people who are not yet familiar with God. It's through our café that they have come to know God's love. Thanks to your generous 13th Sabbath Offerings in 2021, this café has made the gospel accessible through the universal language of food and hospitality. Please keep this café and its efforts to reach the urban population of Taiwan in your prayers.
