Hi. Applause I'm kind of nervous because I have a confession to make I'm not actually a developer So my topic today is Why UX? Why it should matter to developers I actually struggle with this problem at work ... quite a bit. When I talk to people in the tech team One programmer even told me the other day "There are no rules in design" Imagine if I said the same thing "There are no rules in programming" Yes, so I'm just going to share a bit about UX and hopefully sort of convince you guys to being concerned with it. So, UX is actually short for User Experiences and they're taking place around us every day We interact constantly with products both digital and physical Doesn't mean that it has to be a tangible thing It can also be intangible And while we use these things we are actually attempting to accomplish.. a goal. This attempt to accomplish a goal leads to us having a user experience. And it can be a bad one. Yeah. This is what the design VP of AirBnB said.. "Engineers create things and bring concepts to life." I think the same thing is true for developers. Developers also create things and bring concepts to life. So when developing your product, could be an app or a site User experience is usually a part of the design process that we don't hear about unless something goes wrong. But it's actually something that should be an integral part of the design process right from the very start. And all the way until you get your final product. So, what is UX actually?
