9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Nathan: When you build features for[br]people that have a range of abilities, you 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 end up making something that works for [br]everybody. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Kelly: For me, one of the amazing things[br]even today, after 15 years of Microsoft, is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 how we're inventing new experiences.[br]>>Brett: When we sat down, we're focusing 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 on using vision or no vision, we decided[br]really, we need to work on performance. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 To start narrating, we're going to go down[br]to the Windows key and press enter. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Computer: Windows. Start Windows. Search[br]box. [indistinct] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Kelly: So right now, we're at about 80%[br]of capacity upon entering co-speak. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 This is about how I would use my computer[br]>>Computer: [indistinct] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Kelly: That probably sounds like [br]gibberish, but, I mean, once you get used 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 this, it's pretty clear.[br]>>Brett: One of the things that we spend 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 a lot of time looking at is how do you[br]really help develop or be immersed in what 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 it means to be blind. We built in the [br]developing mode a narrator. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Computer: Cancel. Shift. Developer [br]mode enabled. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Brett: So you can see that we've ordered[br]the screen so we press H to jump to the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 first heading.[br]>>Computer: Heading level 1 Go to Bing 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 homepage.[br]Brett: And it will kind of immerse you in 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 what it feels like to not see right.[br]>>Computer: Click down to change to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 suggestions view.[br]>>Kelly: Across many applications, when 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you're typing, whether it's weather, news,[br]Cortana, you're getting search suggestions. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Computer: Fond du Lac, one of one,[br]selected. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Kelly: It's the first time that we're [br]building that level of accessibility into 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 both our screen and our applications.[br]>>Anne: I'm going to flag this message 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Computer: Contact delete button. Move[br]button. Save Flag mode. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Nathan: Xbox looked closely at how we [br]can diversify how people represent 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 themselves. And so, we can see a new set[br]of avatars so that somebody can select 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 an avatar that looks more closely to [br]themselves. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Charles: So with Windows 10, we actually[br]really wanted to do our part and make 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 accessibility great.[br]>>Computer: Enter. Of. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Sean: Whether they need a screen reader,[br]whether it's high contrast, whether it's 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 keyboard only.[br]>>Computer: Add level 3. Draggable. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Yan: It was really about making it more [br]use-able and more intuitive for all of our 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 users.[br]>>Nathan: So in the future, I think the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 key is really matching the ability of the[br]technology to the ability of the person, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 so everybody can participate.[br][music] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [applause] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Terry: Hello. Thank you. Thanks so much[br]for being with us here today. You know, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I've seen that video a few times now, and[br]every single time I watch it, I feel so 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 lucky to be part of this tech industry[br]because what unites all of us is this 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 driving belief that technology can[br]actually serve each of us. The triumph of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 truly human-led design, like you just saw,[br]is that each of us gets to reap the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 benefits of technology, that each of us is[br]included and welcome, and that each of us 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 can make our mark on the world. I'm so [br]incredibly proud of our team for throwing 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 their personal passion, their experience,[br]and their very best creativity into each 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 success and new innovation. At Microsoft,[br]we challenge each of our software 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 developers and hardware designers, each of[br]our artists and audio team, each of our 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 production and quality designers to [br]deliver our mission: to empower every 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 person and every organization on the [br]planet to achieve more. I'm Terry Myerson 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and I lead the Windows and Devices team of[br]Microsoft, and I'm so excited to show you 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 what we've been working on. When we think[br]about the billion people all around world 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 using Windows, we realize each of us is [br]so multi-dimensional. Each of us has 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 different interests and talent, careers [br]and goals. Each of us is multi-layered. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Think about yourself. You may be a gym[br]rat and a gamer, a student and a 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 professional, an artist and an architect,[br]a fantasy football player and a soccer 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 dad. You might be someone who invents[br]solutions that assure accessity, or makes 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 art out of this driving need to make the[br]world a better place. What unites all of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 us is that we are creators of our[br]individual lives. As creators, we need 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 technology that spans all facets of our[br]lives, with work and play. And we're truly 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 inspired by every person using our[br]products. Consider Sief. He's a college 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 freshman in Bangladesh, a computer[br]programmer, a cyclist, and a total 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Windows 10 super fan. I mean, seriously,[br]when Sief was just 15 years old, he joins 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the Windows Insiders program and starts[br]emailing me daily with his ideas for how 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to improve Windows. So, I wasn't surprised[br]that just recently, he and his two 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 classmates just used their Surface and[br]Windows 10 laptops to enter the United 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Nations Shake it Out contest to help[br]people in the earthquake-prone areas in 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 India. These are creators who are using[br]technology to build a better world for all 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of us. Or, consider Carrie. She's a [br]10-year-old girl, a soccer player, a gamer 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and a cancer survivor. Her father reached[br]out to us on LinkedIn and shared that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Xbox was a brilliant part of her[br]recuperation. She didn't just play Xbox1 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to occupy herself. She played Fifa, Forza,[br]Minecraft with her friends to strengthen 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 her friendships while recovering from her[br]treatment. This is a creator who is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 building a community with technology. And[br]then there's Pearson Education. A textbook 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 publisher and a pioneer in personalized[br]learning. So Pearson is using Microsoft 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 hololens, the world's first fully [br]self-contained holographic computer to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 create cutting edge programs that span[br]education of high school students in 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 science to training nurses on holographic[br]patients. This is a creator who is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 building revolutionary new ways to[br]to educate all types of students. So 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 however many layers represent you,[br]whatever hats you wear, wherever you work, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 wherever you refuel yourself, we build[br]Windows to be your place to create and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 play. Windows is your think tank, your[br]office, your studio. It's your archive, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 gallery, workshop. It's your arena. It's[br]your sanctuary, and above all, Windows 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 is your kitchen table where everything[br]just gets done. With Windows, we want to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 create real depth at both ends of the[br]human experience, how we work, and how 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we play, alone and together. With the [br]initial voices of Windows 10, we began 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 laying the foundation with Windows Ink, [br]Pen, with Windows Holographic and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Hololins, with Xbox on Windows 10. And[br]because we understand that your 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 information is digital treasure in this [br]online world, we'll be continuously 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 updating Windows to secure your identity,[br]your information, and your devices. Today, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we are so humbled by you, the over 400[br]million people that are now using Widnows 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 10. That's over 600 people who chose[br]Windows 10 every minute of every hour of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 every day for the last year, and have [br]spent over 200 billion hours of their 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 lives on Windows 10. That's as if there's[br]been a 500% increase in gaming on Windows 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 10, and there are now 3 times as many[br]developers building apps for Windows 10. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And because we're so inspired by Sief,[br]Carrie, Pearson, and countless other 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 creators who rely on Windows 10, we've[br]set an even bolder ambition: 15 months and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 400 million users later, we are going[br]to multiply your productivity with 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 creativity. We're going to magnify[br]gaming with state-of-the-art 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 competitions. So, today, I'm so excited[br]to announce the next release of Windows 10 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that will ship this coming spring, for[br]free, to every Windows 10 device, whether 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you own one now, or buy a great new one[br]this holiday, you're going to find 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 unparalleled new ways to create and[br]play. You're going to find new experiences 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that place your most important people[br]right at the center of your digital life, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and you're going to find new experiences[br]for the creator in everyone. And that is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 why we have named this release the[br]Windows 10 Creators Update. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [applause] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Now, as much as I wanted to show you[br]everything in the update, there's just too 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 much innovation to walk through this[br]morning, so we're going to focus on the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 three most important areas in the Creators[br]update. First, we're expanding our vision 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for mixed reality, which includes virtual[br]reality, augmented reality, and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 holographic computing, with 3D for[br]everyone. So each of us can create, share, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and experience 3D and mixed reality. [br]Second, gamers can experience the best 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of orkay gaming in any game broadcasting.[br]And third, everyone will have a faster way 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to connect and share with the people who[br]matter most - their family, their friends, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 their collaborators, and fellow gamers.[br]Let's take a look at the first - 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 empowering everyone to be a 3D creator.[br]Microsoft Office on Windows has always 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 stood for helping you be your most[br]productive self. We're the silent partner, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 always working in the background, so you[br]can get the work that matters the most 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 done. Today, for most of us, productivity[br]is defined by 2D emails, documents, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 spreadsheets, and slides. We think in 2D.[br]We grew up with 2D color by numbers. We 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 output 2D. Yet, the next generation is[br]growing up with 3D right from the start. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Last month, I attended Minecon, our[br]annual Minecraft event with 14,000 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 attendees. I watched thousands of kids[br]interact fluently with their 3D Minecraft 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 world, editing in 3D with ease, moving[br]around in 3D world as naturally as we 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 scroll through a document. With the[br]Creator's update, we asked ourselves, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "What can Windows do to unleash the 3D[br]creator within each of us? How can we 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 help you use 3D to think new thoughts? To[br]gain new insights? To accelerate new 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 learning?" Please welcome Megan, our [br]product leader, who has been pioneering 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 our 2D to 3D journey within Microsoft[br]to show you the possibilities with the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Windows 10 Creators Update. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [applause] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Narrator: Creativity. I guess you can [br]say we've been at it for quite some 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 time. What begins as the tiniest flicker[br]of an idea has the power to evolve into 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 something you'd never expect. Everyday,[br]you get the chance to look around and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 wonder, "What if?" How can we bring our[br]ideas to life? Creativity is a part of us. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It's woven right into our DNA. Once we[br]allow our boldest ideas out, they can find 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 their place in the world. And our world[br]is three-dimensional, full of perspective, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 shape, and depth. So, isn't it time we[br]started using all of those dimensions? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 3D helps us to see more, to create more,[br]to understand each other. Technology is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 my canvas and my source for inspiration.[br]Now, it's given me a place for new ideas 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to take shape. 3D means sharing with one[br]another in a totally different way. We've 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 always been creators, and our next[br]evolution is here. Imagine what you'll do. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [applause] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Megan: Humanity's progress has always[br]been marked by our creativity. Creativity 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 is a fundamental human need. We create to[br]evolve as a species, to express our 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 biggest ideas. We create to solve problems[br]and we create to tell our stories and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 stimulate our minds. At Microsoft, we[br]believe if we can empower the world with 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 3D, we will unlock a new era of creativity[br]that can enhance your ideas and your 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 storytelling. A new era of innovation [br]that allows you to work seamlessly across 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 your screen and into the physical world[br]around you. A new era of computing that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 enables each and every person on the [br]planet to achieve more. I'm Megan Saunders 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and today, we're going to show you how[br]anyone can create, share, and experience 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 3D. I"m proud to announce that the Windows[br]10 Creators Update, 3D is for Everyone. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [applause] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Now, everyone is a big goal, so where do[br]we begin? Let's take a look at a video 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 featuring our next generation of creators. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Teacher: Come on in, take a seat. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Student: When I first heard 3D, I was[br]like, "It'll probably be really harder, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 like bubble letters," but when I saw this,[br]I was like, "Whoa, look at that." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Woman: Whoa, look at it. It just popped[br]in 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Girl: Yeah, wow![br]>>Woman: Love how they added those clouds. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 We think that if we can enable the [br]creation of 3D content easily for people, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that we can unlock a whole new ability[br]for the way that they can create and the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 way that they can learn new things.[br]>>Female Student: It's just, it's a lot 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 more accessible, and it feels more modern.[br]You just, you don't have to be an expert 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 because literally, in like 5 minutes or[br]less, I was just making whatever I want. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Male Student: Other 3D programs have,[br]like, giant tool bars at the top, and it's 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 hard to find just one thing to do. This[br]is click on the object and all of the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 options just pop up instantly. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Male Student 2: To be able to mix[br]2D images with 3D images. So, I took a 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 picture of myself, a little selfie, and I[br]put my face behind it so it looks like 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I'm floating in outer space. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Female Student 2: I really love the[br]magic selection tools, which I can use to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 take a photo from real life and put it [br]into my art. In that playful nature of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 creating, they're learning at the same[br]time. Creativity leads to learning leads 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to innovation. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Male Student 3: So, in the remix[br]exercise, we each had our own Surface with 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Paint on it. We passed it on every five [br]minutes.[br] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Male Student 4: I started off with this[br]little, really cool robot, three- 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 dimensional object, and it became this[br]flying bunny character, and I thought 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 it was, it was cool. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Female Student 3: Today, I was working[br]on the Statue of Liberty. The clouds and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the airplane, and New York City behind it.[br]I actually have the Megalodon tooth that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I scanned and actually imported it into[br]the drawing. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Female Student 4: Uh, I always wanted[br]to work in 3D, and now I can. 3D is for 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 everybody. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Male Student: One word to describe[br]this experience. . . 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Female Student: Intuitive. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Female Student 2: Simple 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Female Student 3: Inspirational 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Female Studnet 4: Empowering 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Male Student 2: Dynamic 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Male Student 3: Epic 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Male Student 4: Mind-blowing, I guess 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Female Student: I'd say it's[br]revolutionary. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [applause] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Megan: 80% of people aged 12 - 24 [br]believe that creativity is one of the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 most important things, and in fact, they[br]value it 14 points higher than prior 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 generations. It's this next generation of[br]creators that has inspired what we are 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 about to share with you today. If we can[br]enable them to connect the ideas from 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 their minds to their screens, and then[br]out into the world, we could build this 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 amazing new platform for them to create[br]in new ways, to learn, and to enable them 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 on a path that they might not have [br]otherwise chosen. So, let's begin with 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 creation. If we truly want to make 3D for[br]everyone, then we need to make 3D 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 creation as simple as taking a photo or[br]a video on your phone. Imagine, if you 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 will, that I'm on vacation, and I have[br]gone to visit my brother who lives in 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 San Diego, near the beach, and I just[br]watched my daughters, Maddie and Marina, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 make this beautiful sand castle. And I [br]want to capture what they created, and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 today, I would be limited to taking a [br]photo or a video, but let's take a look 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 at a new way. I'm going to show you how[br]we can capture this castle, this sand 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 castle, with our Windows Capture 3D[br]Experience. Now, here you can see the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 sand castle's taking shape in front of me.[br]I'm not only taking something from the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 physical world and making it digital, I'm[br]also taking something that would have been 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 temporary, and making it permanent. We all[br]know that as the sun goes down at the end 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of the day, you have to leave your[br]sand castle behind. But, with the magic 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of scanning, we can take this temporary[br]memory and save it forever. Today, I used 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 HP's Windows Phone, the X3, but we [br]envision this experience on any device. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Now, there it is. I just made a 3D object[br]using my real world for inspiration. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [applause] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Megan: But what if I want to get a [br]little more creative? In order to do that, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I'm going to use a very special member[br]of the Windows family. Paint is a 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 phenomenally popular app. Over 100[br]billion people use it every month. It is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 also a program with a lot of history.[br]Over its 30 years, Paint has appealed to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 generations of aspiring digital artists.[br]For many of us, Paint was the first 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 digital art package that we ever used. Its[br]simplicity enabled everyone to create 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in 2D. I'm excited to announce that with[br]the Windows 10 Creators Update, we are 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 introducing Paint 3D. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [applause] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Megan: Now, some of you might have had[br]a chance to preview Paint, but for the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 rest of you, I'd like to demonstrate[br]how we're making 3D creation easy for 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 everyone. Now, the most common scenario[br]in Paint is to crop a photo. So, here you 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 can see I've got a daughter, uh, a photo,[br]a photo of my daughter. And I'm going 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to go ahead and turn this into a 3D[br]memory. So, let's start with a crop here 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 using our Magic Select, which allows me[br]to remove the background from the photo 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and just keep my daughter. Move this, and[br]I'll move my background over. Now, I'd 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 like to add a few more memories from that[br]day, and I have just the perfect item in 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 mind. That exact same sand castle that I[br]just scanned moments ago is now a 3D 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 object in Paint. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [applause] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Megan: Let's go ahead and get my[br]daughters in the scene here. Move them 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 over. Now, I don't really want them[br]sitting in the back. Fortunately, because 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we are working in true 3D, I can easily [br]move them into the right steps of the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 scene. There we go. Now, I'd like to add [br]a tree, and the web is always a good 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 place of inspiration for that. So,[br]another way that we're making 3D creation 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 easy for everyone is with remix3d.com.[br]This is a community we're building for 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 people to share, discover, and be[br]inspired by 3D. As you can see, here we 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 are on the homepage, lots of original[br]creations from featured artists. And you 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 might also notice that we have some things[br]that were made in Minecraft. Minecraft is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 an incredible game that really captures[br]the imagination of its audience. Inside 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the game, people explore, craft, and [br]create in a rich, 3D world. With the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Creators Update, not only will you be[br]able to export your creations directly 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 from the game, but you'll also be able[br]to 3D print them from right here, in the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 community. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [applause] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Megan: Now, it's important when you're a[br]creator, that we have a variety of content 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to choose from. So, as I scroll down,[br]you will also notice some objects, uh, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that were created in SketchUp. Now,[br]SkecthUp has been a long-time believer 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in 3D for everyone, which is why we're[br]excited to announce our partnership 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 with Trimble to bring SketchUp and their[br]millions of creators and creations from 3D 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 warehouses to be part of our community. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [applause] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Megan: But, I came here to look for a[br]tree, so, let's get looking. There you go. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, you can see there's a variety of trees[br]and I'm going to go ahead and select this 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 one here. Now, what you're looking at now[br]is a concept that we call board. Boards 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 allow me to collect many objects from[br]across the community and save them for 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 use for later. So I'm going to go ahead[br]and add this one, uh, to my inspiration 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 board. I'll go ahead and grab one more,[br]so I have some options. And let's go ahead 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 now and get these back into my scene. [br]And the way we're going to do that is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 here. What you're looking at now is the[br]community directly integrated into Paint. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 We've made it easy for the community to[br]be integrated into any app or experience. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 You can see the exact same homepage we[br]were just on moments ago. And I also have 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 access to my own personal content,[br]including that inspiration board that I 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 just added these trees to. So, let's take[br]a look at that, and I'm just going to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 drop that tree in. Perfect. I'll just move[br]it over, then I'll just turn that a little 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 bit. Okay, it's looking better, but the[br]top is a little empty, so I'm going to go 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 ahead and add a cloud. And to do that,[br]I'm going to use one of my personally 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 favorite tools, the Doodle tool. The [br]Doodle tool allows me to take any 2D 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 pre-sketched with the Pen and instantly[br]turn it into 3D. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [applause] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Megan: There we go. Now, for the sake[br]of time, let's move over to a scene that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I've advanced a little bit. We all know[br]that there are two sides to every story, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and in this case, here is a scene that my[br]daughters have been working on from their 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 own memories of that day at the beach. [br]Now, my girls have been early testers with 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Paint all along the way, and one of their[br]favorite things to do is create their own 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 personal emojis. So, I'm going to go[br]ahead and I'm going to take this emoji, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 uh, and I'm going to do a little bit of[br]Remixing, uh, and make it my own, and I 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 have just the person for inspiration in[br]mind. So, let's start with some paint 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 brushes. The oil brush here, and I'll 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 color along. We've made all of the 2D pens 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and pencils. We've enabled them to work on[br]any 3D object. There we go, that's a 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 pretty good-looking beard. It's coming[br]together. Now I'm going to go ahead and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 add some sunglasses. And I'm going to use[br]what we call our Sticker tool for this. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The sticker tool allows you to take any[br]2D image and effectively stamp it to a 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 3D object, just like a texture. So, there[br]you go, two very simple, uh, operations 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 here. I was able to customize and[br]personalize my own emoji. Thank you 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [applause] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Megan: So, I'm pretty excited about[br]this. Of course, when we're proud of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 something, we want to share it. So, I'm[br]going to go ahead and publish that to the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 community. And, as you can see, I have an[br]option to share that on Facebook. So, I 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 will go ahead and do that as well. And,[br]let's give it a second. And now let's go 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 out and check it out on my Facebook page.[br]Now, here you can see, uh, my timeline, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and there is my 3D memory that I just[br]created in Paint view-able on Facebook 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for all of my friends and family to see. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [applause] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Megan: We've just shown you new ways to[br]create and share in 3D, but that's only 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 part of the story. 3D is a great medium[br]for expressing and it accelerates 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 comprehension to people in their. . . So[br]let's take a look at how it's valuable to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 people in their everyday experiences. Over[br]the next year, you will see us integrate 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 3D across our most popular Microsoft[br]applications. Let's start by taking a look 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 at PowerPoint and see how 3D can enable[br]you to be creative and productive. I'd 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 like to invite Heather, one of our project[br]managers out on stage to give us a sneak 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 peek. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Heather: Thanks, Megan.[br]>>Megan: Hi, Heather. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 >>Heather: Let's jump right into this[br]presentation I've been making about the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 common fig tree. Now, I've already[br]captured my key points, but now it's time 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to add some 3D magic to really drive these[br]points home. I'm going to start by 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 inserting a fig tree, the star of my[br]presentation. So, to do that, I'm going 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to click on the insert tab. Now, here you[br]can see all of the things that you'd 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 expect, but we've added a new option to[br]be able to insert a 3D model. Just like 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you saw in Paint, I have full access to[br]the 3D community directly within 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 PowerPoint. So, I've spotted my fig tree,[br]and I'm going to click insert. These are 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the exact same steps that I would've taken[br]to add a photo or a video, but with 3D, I 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 can change the perspective and the scale[br]to tell the story exactly the way that I 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 want to tell it. I'm going to move this[br]guy to the center. Give him a spin. That 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 looks really good. 3D also enables me to[br]engage my audience even more by adding 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 animation. I can easily do this in my[br]presentation. I'm going to start by 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 duplicating this slide. And then, I'm[br]going to move and rotate the tree to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 highlight the part I want to focus on.[br]Gonna scale this guy out. And then, I'm 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 going to get this back angle, and I really[br]like this top-down. Then, I'm going to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 click transitions
