(Music throughout video) The zero waste movement is spreading across the United States! Many Americans look to Europe for environmental solutions. But there are thousands of organizations at work right now in the USA! The Berkeley Tool Lending Library is a great example. At this library you can check out more than just books. You can check out dozens of different tools. For gardening Home repairs DIY projects and more! Sharing items like these reduces resources needed by a community. It allows items to be used over and over and repaired as needed. If every community did this, we'd drastically reduce our waste! Amazing initiatives are popping up across the nation. From repair cafes where you can bring broken stuff to be fixed, to "Libraries of Things" where you can check out anything you imagine. And clothing swaps to keep clothes from the landfill. At "The Fabrica" you can repair clothes and make goods with their salvaged textiles. At community bike shops you can learn to fix your bike and use shared tools. There are even programs to help you share excess food. The zero waste movement and the sharing revolution are helping us to clean up our planet and live more sustainable lives while contributing to the local economy and supporting local jobs. Share this video and be a part of the zero waste movement! (Music)
