Thank you very much for the invitation I must say, I never held a lecture on socks, but it is very warm and cosy here. My name is Frank Buschmann. For many years now I am engaged in animal behaviour. First as a researcher in Ireland and Cologne, then after 15 years resarch I founded an enterprise of my own by forcedly strategic reasons so to say. We are developing hard- and software for animal welfare, animal breeding and animal management. For example automating feeding gear and transponder controlled locks. This are these little microchips coated in glass you know for example of cats who are all chipped. We also design management databases which ensure the authorities that the parameters of the animals in the limits of the animal protection law. Administration of transgenic organisms. Here we have achieved one of the few successes in the new animal protection law Transgenic organisms must be better docu- mented, especially in regard of the impairments and problems of the transgenic race. All this has to be journalized and reported to the authorities. To ensure that te journals are not simply filled with random data we developed a europe software. I am rather content that we with our enterprise can add a little contribution to reduce the amount of animals for and that those who are necessary and be monitored by the authorities. The topic was proposed by Michael whom I know for 15 years now. "Similarities and differences of man and animal" of course is a huge topic about which you can talk for hours and the time was limited on 15 minutes. It got a little extended and because of that we have a little more time so I wanted to design it a little more dynamic. In the beginning I will show a film so everybody can think it over: Is this an “attraction reaction machine” now, is this by chance or is it a score of one animal to another by pushing him down the stairs. We are watching the videos now first which I of course have from the Internet. Yes, we know this particularly with cats that they are very imaginative and have very much refinement if they want a little if they want to have food if they want to come out or there also are envy actions. There comes this tiger to his brother and, what kind of chance, the other plunges into the water. Whether its pure coincidence or not, one can not examine it strictly scientifically, but it is a quite interesting connection which remind us of it very much. It´s about different species which have different ways of communication. It´s well known, that dogs and cats body language is already different and this makes living together a little more difficult - some kind of adventurous also - between such species. Some can be chance but other things already look very much according to strategy. We will see just another part - I would like to emphasize - in which he runs away from a cow. Sabotage, as in this case, also actually can be chance but effective. Cats try to to present themselfs as if it does not matter wether theire surroundings turn, if it´s Earth around Sun or turning around themselfs it´s identical, it has a strategic advantage and is made use of at once. Strategies develop also in the sozialisation between different species, and may be used shamelessly there too. He chucks ball away and the other one wants to fetch it - for this he´ll then gets a bone. This already looks according to strategy. It is, proved in the research that different animal species also develop political strategies to succeed with something. This is this with making use of a situation, defenseless, opportunity make love. No question about it that it seems to be targeted. And a fish also can defend itself in front of a cat. Thats where the concept Kamika (t) ze comes from. Or taking the sledge from the human - riding it itself. And then something arises from it to Undewicht in the household, how one says with in NRW. <<<< das ist irgendwie falsch???? Ich kenne den Spruch auch nicht – muss nochmal reinhören…. One can explain a lot by by coincidence. In which cats really have a talent to throw everything down (Territory Enlargement). Basically socializationis a very good Idea to bring different species together. If one brings them together in early stages of Development, then they learn very fast to handle each other. At last, domesticated animals are used to Humans and breeded and trained to do so. so to say, this is a "Cat into a the box". This is the Scene once again. Of course on Youtube there are a lot of funny animal videos, which, if you start thinking about it encourages you: "Yes, there is consideration and strategy at least experience with a human behavior behind this there". I have called it "attraction reaction or systematic procedure" now, but to me, it´s more a systematic procedure. Not in all, but in a lot of cases. I will start to compare, what is the difference between the animal "man" and the other animals. What does one say there and what can be kept. What can be discussed or disproved. This then culminates in the discourse: Empathy is a pure emotion now or it is rationally controlled or perhaps it has even an evolutionary advantage? I then take an example to the positions. An animal is trained according to a certain way to proceed, in dealing with horses this is so, for example: The conducting stallion or the conducting mare must watch over the complete herd and head then has increased hers relatively to see approximate enemies. This means they have a quite dominating behavior which for certain is practical to recognize just possible dangers. From this then has the man developed, that the eye contact and the eye-level shall in dealing with the animal be fundamental under the eye-level of man. It is said in many rider circles, if this is not the case, one then could not master a horse either, we go equally still a bit further into it there. There is not only racism but also speciesism there. Does it become the species justly or not justly? Which mechanisms are connected that a group represents itself better- or the other one worse - in opposite to another group? Then: Effect of the cultural over-forming, the domestikation which we cultivate, breed and train to animals, so they are able to manage better in our human environment and we "make them utilizable",within the meaning of social support and similar effects. At the End I would say something about a cognitive dissonance or in simple words: The contradiction between the love of animals and using an animal so it can be eaten by non-vegetarians. The videos for the attraction reaction respectively for the systematic procedure I´ve just shown. What do animals and people have in common? This is a brainstorming, that is now no complete enumeration,as it would be found in the Review or paper. What is, for some people, surely common, that no animal is like the other even if it is one of the same race and the same brood. Domesticated animals particularly have theire own character and theire own behavior typical form. It is not only an external appearance now but in my thesis went 16 years ago therefore this still was not clear: What is forgetting? Is forgetting simply some memory information which fades? Or is forgetting to learn not to do something? If I usually got a positive reinforcement, a reward for something, and then, all of the sudden I don´t get it anymore, even though I´m doing the same as before - it starts to get senseless or it´s a waste of energie to act like that to get the reward, which does not come anymore. There was my Theory, even in different species, that it is an actice studying process to learn not to do it any longer. I have compared different animal species, I also compared them with Humans and found patterns, which are typically, individual typically, for every studying behavior. Everybody studies somehow differently. Solves certain tasks faster or in another rhythm, faster or more slowly and one can derive a time sample from it with which one e.g. can say: Michael Kiok studies like this and this is his time rhythm.
