What is Emara: Emirates Hero? Here we are! And this is... Alfrely! Emara: Emirates Hero is a webseries by Eating Stars Studios, from United Arab Emirates, and created by Fatma Almedi, which premiered in 2018 through the youtube channel Emara. This is an action series with a pinch of comedy, aimed at teens, telling the story of Moza an Emirati girl that helps her mother attending to her restaurant. But secretly Moza becomes Emara, a superheroine who fights evil with her own hands, which can transform into different devices. She prefers working alone, although in some cases Dhabian, a guy who can transform his own legs, comes to help. Despite being loved by people, Emara made many enemies: not only the police is after her, but also due to a bounty on her head, many criminals and organizations try to capture her. While Emara looks for whoever offered the reward, she doesn't know Dhabian works for a mysterious organization, and supports her only to gain her trust... ...and this way, be able to capture her. Our protagonist is Moza, better known as Emara. She is a joyful and somewhat clumsy girl. She is in good terms with her mom, and she gladly helps her with the restaturant's tasks. As Emara she is a brave and intrepid girl, with a great sense of justice, who risks her safety to save others, thanks to her powers to transform at will her hands in different devices, such as rockets, hooks and cannons. On the other hand, although she is nice to her fans, in reality she's not very friendly, as she is not interested in knowing Dhabian... ...and almost seems annoyed that he intervenes in her fights. Speaking of Dhabian: he is a valiant and daring guy... who tries to please Emara with his charmismatic personality, and to be accepted as her partner in the fight against crime. However, this is a disguise of Sultan, the name he uses as a civilian. He has the mission of discovering Emara's identity ...in order to catch her. Ironically, although Dhabian has Emara's power but in his legs, in reality Sultan is in a wheelchair. Also, as Sultan he is a client of Moza's mother's restaurant, they know each other as civilians, even though none of them realized it. Among the supporting characters we have Maitha, Moza's mother, owner of the restaurant, she doesn't know her daughter's secret, and Jassim, a cop who is Moza's uncle... ...and is trying to capture Emara. As antagonists we have Omar, boss of a criminal gang... ...who only looks for Emara for the reward, Zeina who is the boss of the mysterious organization, and who sends Sultan undercover to capture Emara. And another villain we don't know much about. Up to date, Emara has a season of five episodes, during around ten minutes each, and it's not confirmed yet if there will be a second season. If you like superheroes, mysteries, and action series like Teen Titans, then Emara is for you. The series is quite influenced by anime, and some even label it as Arabian Miraculous Ladybug... ...due the dynamic between the characters, but Emara isn't as childish as Miraculous. Personally, we quite liked this first season. At first it takes time to kickstart, but the last two episodes turn out quite well. The characters' designs and expressions are very good, and the opening song is beautiful. Also, there are some details to make theories about the series, which delights us. However, something we didn't like, and that is alarming, is that apparently the opening was too inspired by other artists' work, to the point of bordering on plagiarism. We don't know if they were trying to pay homage... ...to the shows they like and it didn't work, or if they genuinely did it with bad intentions. But for now we will give them the benefit of the doubt, and assume they didn't know how to reference without plagiarizing, since the story, characters, and designs in general... ...seem to be completely original. If you are interested in watching it, in the description and the tab in the upper corner... ...we'll leave links to the first episode in the series' official channel. The episodes can be found in Arabic and English, but with Spanish subtititles. And this is Emara. Tells us in the comments if you already knew it, and what you think.
