0:00:31.024,0:00:36.625 Hello everyone, for this Ask Teal episode, I wanted to do it on disabilities 0:00:37.624,0:00:44.394 But rather than talk at you for a lengthy amount of time, I wanted to have someone who has an actual disability 0:00:44.394,0:00:45.644 on with me 0:00:45.644,0:00:49.442 So that it wouldn't just be me teaching you about something which I'm theorizing about 0:00:49.442,0:00:55.406 it was somebody who is actually experiencing that perspective who can talk to you also today 0:00:55.406,0:01:00.372 So, this is my good friend now, RJ 0:01:00.372,0:01:07.613 and what I want to say first is that what many people think that genetic coding and issues associated 0:01:07.613,0:01:10.812 with genetics is what's causing disabilities 0:01:10.812,0:01:18.042 but that is like saying that light comes from a light bulb. When we know that the story of where light comes from 0:01:18.042,0:01:24.936 started way before the light bulb. So what we really need to do is to understand that genetic abnormality 0:01:24.936,0:01:33.819 is a symptom as well. It's a byproduct of what was first done with thought, focus, and consciousness. 0:01:33.819,0:01:41.111 Now it's really important to understand also. That people who come into this life, we're talking running start 0:01:41.111,0:01:45.163 with birth defects and things like that which we would look at call a disability. 0:01:45.163,0:01:52.875 That is a choice that that being, the soul within the person, that is projecting the person chose upon 0:01:52.875,0:01:58.610 incarnating into this reality. And now, I know that great many people are going to balk when I say that 0:01:58.610,0:02:03.986 because it's easy for someone who doesn't have a visible disability to say that somebody might chose 0:02:03.986,0:02:10.491 into the experience of being disabled, after all most of us who don't have disabilties would say, why the hell 0:02:10.491,0:02:12.542 would someone choose that. 0:02:12.542,0:02:19.393 but we have to understand that what source is after is a new perspective and that's exactly what is happening 0:02:19.393,0:02:23.952 when you see somebody who has what we call a disability. It's somebody who has a completely 0:02:23.952,0:02:30.310 unique perspective. Having a disability is a very specific kind of contrast 0:02:30.310,0:02:36.063 and with each different disability that's a different kind of contrast. Which causes a different kind of perspective 0:02:36.063,0:02:43.517 which causes a different kind of expansion. And those incredible lessons that are learned through that experience 0:02:43.517,0:02:46.650 adds to the expansion of our Universe. 0:02:46.650,0:02:54.908 So to start with this conversation that we're going to have. This Ask Teal Episode. I want you to first explain to us what your disability is 0:02:54.908,0:02:59.957 and what that means your day to day life is like. 0:02:59.957,0:03:05.016 First of all, I want to thank you for having me 0:03:06.231,0:03:14.959 Like she said my name is RJ and I have 3 different disabilities 0:03:14.959,0:03:22.678 One, is cerebral palsy but some people say ce-rebral palsy 0:03:22.678,0:03:31.150 which has a different variation depending on the person 0:03:31.150,0:03:43.788 if I say I have it where I have the use of my limbs but I'm unable to walk. 0:03:43.788,0:03:54.624 And this originates from a lack of oxygen to the brain either 0:03:54.624,0:03:57.959 before or during birth 0:03:59.374,0:04:12.022 and then the second disability I have is called cleft lip and palate, which is visible right here 0:04:12.022,0:04:27.242 where there is a hole, or there used to be a hole, in the roof of my mouth. And it was open when I was born 0:04:27.242,0:04:35.375 and I had a surgery shortly after to put it back together 0:04:35.375,0:04:45.281 so the after affects of that was my speech impediment. 0:04:45.281,0:04:55.645 My third disability is, I wouldn't say epilepsy but I do have seizures 0:04:55.645,0:05:10.959 and they did not appear until 2000 and I have not had one since 2005. 0:05:10.959,0:05:15.084 Goodie. Good job on not having seizures since 2005. 0:05:15.084,0:05:19.194 Let me guess. That's when you started expressing your emotions? 0:05:22.255,0:05:23.073 Oh man 0:05:24.118,0:05:26.017 Alright, so what do we wanna talk about? 0:05:26.017,0:05:32.947 I think it's really important that in the majority of this Ask Teal episode be about what your overall message is. 0:05:32.947,0:05:40.292 Because we're talking to people who want to understand the spiritual reasoning for having a disability 0:05:40.292,0:05:44.278 and also you want to talk to people with disabilities. 0:05:44.278,0:05:50.836 So what I want to start on, is this idea that absolutely everybody has limitations. 0:05:51.897,0:05:56.832 That's something you and I were talking about earlier, right? That there's a difference, 0:05:56.832,0:06:00.175 everybody's different, and everybody has certain limitations. 0:06:01.359,0:06:05.124 Those limitations cause a certain amount of contrast, right? 0:06:05.124,0:06:11.139 But what we're really seeing basically when we're seeing a disability is somebody who 0:06:11.139,0:06:20.565 is focused on what is inappropriate or what is wrong and the basic society has that opinion of disability. 0:06:20.565,0:06:25.403 A disability means you can't do something, something you "should" do. 0:06:25.403,0:06:31.124 So wouldn't you agree that the focus is something has gone wrong when spiritually, that's not the way it is. 0:06:31.124,0:06:33.745 It's focus on what has gone right. 0:06:33.745,0:06:50.219 Yes, the word to me, the word disability focuses on the negative or has a negative connotation to it. 0:06:50.219,0:07:00.145 Whereas with me I believe everyone has a different ability 0:07:00.145,0:07:04.248 so we are all unique and different. 0:07:05.710,0:07:07.903 Very much so. 0:07:07.903,0:07:17.162 So what do you think is it that causes the most amount of pain for people who have disabilities? 0:07:18.823,0:07:38.515 I believe that there are two ways of having a disability. You could either be born with it or you can acquire it later on in life 0:07:38.515,0:07:52.241 So, to answer your question, it will be easier to answer it for those who acquire it later in life. 0:07:54.041,0:07:59.035 I believe they feel that they have lost something 0:08:01.569,0:08:05.334 In fact, that's the way I was going to explain it earlier. 0:08:05.334,0:08:11.758 That Universally, if somebody is born with a disability... that's a different set of contrast that someone's experiencing 0:08:11.758,0:08:18.291 from somebody who say breaks their spine when they're alive because they lost the ability to walk 0:08:18.291,0:08:25.794 so part of the contrast that we're experiencing in them is a more extreme version of limitation actually 0:08:25.794,0:08:29.110 because they know what the opposite feels like and what's interesting is 0:08:29.110,0:08:36.657 most beings, most people, who line up with it after they're here, what they're really experiencing is 0:08:36.657,0:08:42.749 because of the limitation, is extreme levels of desire for freedom. 0:08:42.749,0:08:45.792 The desire for the ability, that's a sense of freedom, right? 0:08:45.792,0:08:50.838 So, they deliver the most amount of expansion in terms of freedom in this world. 0:08:50.838,0:08:52.452 yes 0:08:54.899,0:09:03.542 I believe everybody in this Universe wants a sense of independence 0:09:03.542,0:09:07.397 but we are all interdependent 0:09:07.397,0:09:08.860 Yes 0:09:09.860,0:09:14.444 So wouldn't you say... this is what somebody in my position would say as a spiritual guide: 0:09:14.444,0:09:21.790 That one of the biggest blessings that comes along with cerebral palsy is that you have to 0:09:21.790,0:09:24.041 learn the lesson of interdependence 0:09:24.041,0:09:28.919 Being in the situation you're in, being completely independent, is not an option. 0:09:28.919,0:09:35.075 Right? So you have to learn to let people into your heart. You have to let them help. 0:09:35.075,0:09:39.463 You have to let them play a role in your life. Independence is really not an option for any of us 0:09:39.463,0:09:44.560 but most of us harbor the illusion that it is. For you, you can't harbor the illusion, can you? 0:09:44.560,0:10:02.875 Right, but we are at different levels. Some people have that ability to have a greater sense of independence than others. 0:10:05.398,0:10:18.270 Like you said, I have to rely on others to help me with whatever I cannot physically do 0:10:18.270,0:10:21.097 Did you ever have a problem with that? 0:10:22.650,0:10:24.862 You mean mentally? 0:10:24.862,0:10:30.263 No, did it ever bother you that people had to help you or that you were in a state where you had to rely on them? 0:10:30.263,0:10:32.564 Did that ever bother you? 0:10:32.564,0:10:49.639 No, not really because I knew that I needed help and when I needed help, I asked for it or I manifest it. 0:10:49.639,0:10:54.805 What would you say to somebody who has a disability that has a big problem with needing help 0:10:54.805,0:10:58.958 That has a problem with the fact that they can't be entirely independent 0:11:00.818,0:11:08.002 Well, I would tell them that they 0:11:11.002,0:11:20.106 are capable of doing anything and everything that they put their minds to 0:11:20.106,0:11:34.070 and to not discourage themselves. I would encourage them to do everything to the best of their ability 0:11:35.869,0:11:37.516 That sounds very good 0:11:37.516,0:11:43.791 Would you agree with me that comparison is really whats causing the most amount of pain when 0:11:43.791,0:11:49.138 it comes to disabilities. Because we understand that when you have a disability, What people are calling that 0:11:49.138,0:11:55.139 It means that theres a certain level of contrast, stuff like "I can't get up the stairs" or you know, stuff like that 0:11:55.139,0:12:01.389 There's a certain amount of contrast there, but what's causing the suffering, the serious amount of suffering is that a person with a disablity is 0:12:01.389,0:12:06.307 comparing themselves to other people so their comparing their physical experience to 0:12:06.307,0:12:11.139 other peoples physical experience and feeling by virtue of doing that, what they can't do. 0:12:11.139,0:12:24.882 Right, so in that scenario I would tell them or encourage them to never focus on what they can't do 0:12:24.882,0:12:42.100 but what they can do. We all have a gift or unique power that is beyond our physical realm 0:12:42.100,0:12:46.077 and we just need to realize that 0:12:46.077,0:12:59.541 And once we do realize that, then we can get a greater sense of what we are capable of and 0:12:59.541,0:13:12.048 use that positive energy to move ourselves towards our own personal happiness 0:13:12.048,0:13:14.674 Oh, I completely agree 0:13:14.674,0:13:16.720 I like to describe to the people this way 0:13:16.720,0:13:22.976 If somebody landed on planet earth and they could fly. And it was a person, so this is not another species 0:13:22.976,0:13:25.394 it's another person that can fly 0:13:25.394,0:13:30.779 right now in our day to day lives we don't feel like it really sucks to not be able to fly, we don't think about it 0:13:30.779,0:13:38.615 right, most of us don't anyways, but if somebody could fly we would suddenly feel the pain in our disability to fly 0:13:38.615,0:13:43.651 but it's because we are comparing ourselves to other people's physical experience 0:13:43.651,0:13:48.887 We're not understanding, which is I think critical for people who suffer from disabilities 0:13:48.887,0:13:56.931 We're not understanding that we chose to come into this very specific perspective so instead of looking at everybody 0:13:56.931,0:14:02.973 like they should have a similar perspective and a similar experience whether that's walking or whether that's talking 0:14:02.973,0:14:07.197 or whether whatever that is. That's not necessarily the way that the Universe looks at it 0:14:07.197,0:14:13.780 The Universe wants a very specific and different unique perspective and so by saying 0:14:13.780,0:14:20.622 "oh I should be another way than I am", we are creating all of that suffering 0:14:23.776,0:14:47.017 Exactly. That just amazed me what you said. And I also beleive that society plays a huge role in defining a regular everyday life 0:14:47.017,0:15:02.894 such as disability, whereas, they set aside this group of people have a disability. Why? Because they are 0:15:02.894,0:15:08.437 incapable of doing this one thing 0:15:08.437,0:15:15.394 Yeah, and I feel like most of us address, most of those of us that are in society that don't have technically a visible disability 0:15:15.394,0:15:20.644 I can tell you we have many that aren't on the surface. But when we don't technically have a visible disability 0:15:20.644,0:15:28.818 a lot of us are looking at people with disabilities with and attitude of sympathy, we don't understand the difference between empathy and understanding and sympathy 0:15:28.818,0:15:33.751 and when we feel emotionally sympathetic when we have sympathy for somebody it doesn't feel good 0:15:33.751,0:15:41.231 emotionally it feels bad because we are basically focused on their limitation. And so that's what we are feeding is their limitation 0:15:41.231,0:15:47.263 and if we were to look at beings who have incarnated with a physical disability with the eyes of truth 0:15:47.263,0:15:50.819 we would look at the value of the choice that they made 0:15:50.819,0:15:52.742 thats what we would be doing 0:15:52.742,0:16:01.275 Yes, and even before we came into this life, yeah 0:16:01.275,0:16:07.621 Here's a good question, do you feel like you chose this. Becuase I can sit here all day long and say 0:16:07.621,0:16:12.390 Look, you chose to come in with a disability. And you know what a lot of people with disabilities are thinking 0:16:12.390,0:16:18.337 They're thinking, "She's a bitch"... So what is your perspective? 0:16:18.337,0:16:23.433 Well first of all, no, you're not a bitch 0:16:25.740,0:16:35.290 Actually, I encourage people to embrace their disability 0:16:35.290,0:16:46.540 because that's what I do. I don't even call it a disability. I call it a different ability 0:16:46.540,0:17:01.451 because I don't focus on what I can't do, I focus on what I can do and that is spreading love and light 0:17:01.451,0:17:13.125 and positive energy to others so that they can expand their minds to see that they are capable 0:17:13.125,0:17:16.948 of doing more than what they are 0:17:16.948,0:17:20.845 and more than what society tells them, for sure 0:17:20.845,0:17:27.693 yes, I am the exact opposite 0:17:29.678,0:17:39.824 What I was saying about embracing my disability or different ability 0:17:39.824,0:17:54.808 I've run across so many people in my life who have a disability and many are very depressed 0:17:54.808,0:18:10.171 or very down on themselves about having a disability and not being able to do everything they want to do 0:18:10.171,0:18:21.250 but I just tell them, you are capable of doing it. You just have to find another way to do it. 0:18:21.250,0:18:35.517 Each and every moment of our lives, we are given an infinite number of opportunities and it's up to us 0:18:35.517,0:18:51.281 to realize and take those opportunites and if you can't go down one path or you don't take one path 0:18:51.281,0:18:58.915 that'll work for you, then travel down another path 0:18:58.915,0:19:05.726 that's the only way that you will reach your personal happiness 0:19:05.726,0:19:13.886 You're so right. Do you think you would have known exactly what you just said unless you had a disability? 0:19:13.886,0:19:31.483 No I don't, or at least not for a while, because throughout my whole life I have never been down on myself 0:19:31.483,0:19:49.665 about my disability. I've always been the one to go for what I want and do whatever I can to get what I want 0:19:49.665,0:20:05.679 Not to sound selfish, but I figure out different ways to do the different things that I would like to do that makes me happy 0:20:05.679,0:20:10.828 This would be my major message to people who do not have disabilities. 0:20:10.828,0:20:16.223 Is that we really need to take it upon ourselves to focus at those people who do have disabilites 0:20:16.223,0:20:20.743 in terms of their capabilities, unique capabilities and not in terms of their disability because 0:20:20.743,0:20:27.040 nothing has gone wrong when people opt in with disabilities or create them 0:20:27.040,0:20:35.552 it's offering an immense amount of awareness. It's actually rare for me now to meet people who have disabilities 0:20:35.552,0:20:42.272 that don't have a certain level of awareness. Because your illusion is stripped from you. You have to face yourself 0:20:42.272,0:20:46.397 a lot of times when you have disabilities. Would you agree? 0:20:46.397,0:20:53.441 Yeah, I would totally agree, yeah. 0:20:53.441,0:20:59.506 So do you find that sometimes people with disabilities defend their limitations? 0:20:59.506,0:21:06.058 They sort of argue for their limitations and argue for why they should suffer 0:21:09.474,0:21:12.630 This is something which I experienced a lot in the deaf community 0:21:12.630,0:21:21.573 I don't know, It's kind of hard for me to answer because I don't do that myself 0:21:24.741,0:21:30.397 This is what I experienced, because I spent a lot of time in the deaf communities, that's another disability right 0:21:30.397,0:21:37.804 What I noticed is that they developed this sense of entitlement sort of, because they believe that nobody on earth is suffering like they're suffering 0:21:37.804,0:21:40.357 They sort of sink into a victim consciousness 0:21:40.357,0:21:49.202 and the world feels like the enemy to them, but what I wanted to explain to people is why people argue for their limitations and their suffering 0:21:49.202,0:21:55.102 it's because they feel condemned or they feel less than. They are looking for some kind of relief and 0:21:55.102,0:22:01.973 The major message here is, They're looking to find relief by giving themselves some kind of permission to be where they are 0:22:01.973,0:22:04.890 and how they are in a world that says they're wrong. 0:22:06.413,0:22:19.332 That goes back to what we were saying about society and how they label everybody 0:22:19.332,0:22:30.649 and that's another quote of mine: "Adjectives are used to describe, not to judge." 0:22:30.649,0:22:35.955 Yes. Wow, aren't you just precious? 0:22:39.862,0:22:45.140 So what I'm actually interested in, I'm looking at some notes that I had written down 0:22:45.140,0:22:51.272 becuase I had some good points to potentially ask you about 0:22:51.272,0:23:00.845 What I was going to explain too, is a lot of people....they maybe thinking on a spiritual level I decided this 0:23:00.845,0:23:02.345 but I don't know why yet 0:23:02.345,0:23:07.951 My major message is that if your in a situation where you have a disability it's really really 0:23:07.951,0:23:11.455 crucial for you to start going to the direction of happiness 0:23:11.455,0:23:17.169 to do whatever you feel like would make you feel better and feel better and feel better 0:23:17.169,0:23:21.674 saying and doing wise and everything and then, once you do that 0:23:21.674,0:23:26.981 it will cause you to align with your inner being to a degree that you will finally have access 0:23:26.981,0:23:33.017 to the answer to that question. Why did I incarnate with this disability 0:23:33.017,0:23:41.730 Well, I would just say that, but people with disablilties and including everyone 0:23:41.730,0:23:47.077 should go for their personal happiness 0:23:47.077,0:23:48.615 oh yes 0:23:48.615,0:24:01.636 But as far as people with disabilities, or should I say people with different abilities, yes 0:24:04.436,0:24:09.680 That is a wonderful way of going about it 0:24:09.680,0:24:23.898 I beleive that many of the people with different abilities don't quite understand why they are the way they are 0:24:23.898,0:24:33.041 Or "I really don't understand why that God made me this way." 0:24:35.180,0:24:40.682 I think that's hard for even those of us that are sitting on the outside, because we are looking at something 0:24:40.682,0:24:45.749 that we wouldn't want to experience, because we don't understand the value of that choice 0:24:45.749,0:24:49.615 that was made, and we are afraid of it happening to us 0:24:49.615,0:24:54.192 That's what I feel like happens with people who are on the outside of it 0:24:54.192,0:25:04.482 That's also another aspect of another quote I have: 0:25:06.698,0:25:22.598 "You reflect what you project." Whatever you think is your life, so you create your own reality 0:25:22.598,0:25:37.766 If you believe that you are disabled and you say you can't do anything about it, then you are stuck in that negative closed box. 0:25:39.412,0:25:49.681 But once you open that box, you have the whole Universe on your side 0:25:49.681,0:25:52.932 So do you feel like you chose this? 0:25:52.932,0:25:54.534 Yes, I do 0:25:54.534,0:25:55.202 Why? 0:25:55.202,0:26:12.051 Because I wanted to, as I said before, spread love and light to people and help people realize what they can do 0:26:12.051,0:26:24.573 for themselves not just for people with different abilities but everybody 0:26:24.573,0:26:33.279 Everybody deserves to be happy otherwise why would we be here? 0:26:33.279,0:26:43.251 We all deserve to do what we want and be happy 0:26:43.251,0:26:52.679 It may not go as smoothly as we want it to however 0:26:52.679,0:27:03.729 when we take into account that each and every moment we have an infinite number of opportunities 0:27:03.729,0:27:17.280 handed to us we have to take a moment and meditate and figure out which one of the opportunities 0:27:17.280,0:27:26.196 resonates with our personal happiness the most and take that route. 0:27:26.196,0:27:29.923 So do you think it's possible for people with disabilities to be happy? 0:27:30.521,0:27:34.216 Yes, everybody can 0:27:34.216,0:27:40.613 What would you say to a person with disabilities who says it's not possible for me to be happy? 0:27:40.613,0:27:51.868 I would ask them why they think that and breaking it down to the core reason 0:27:51.868,0:27:55.947 Kind of like Shadow Work 0:27:55.947,0:27:59.910 Kind of like shadow work...I like that 0:27:59.910,0:28:05.082 What has been the most difficult part of having a disability for you? 0:28:12.557,0:28:32.256 Growing up, there have been many people along the way that would use me and have ulterior motives like 0:28:32.256,0:28:44.205 money or they use me for my brains or they don't have the time for me 0:28:44.205,0:28:58.686 Like "Oh, he's in a wheelchair, well I want to go to this party but I can't get you in my car, so forget you" 0:28:58.686,0:29:01.890 and they go to the party 0:29:01.890,0:29:13.695 But, later I have to ask myself, "if they really did that, are they really my friend? No." 0:29:15.155,0:29:20.907 So here, I've got a good question for you. This is sort of the creme de la creme. You Ready? 0:29:20.907,0:29:27.833 What beneficial things, what capabilities would you never have had unless you had this? 0:29:27.833,0:29:36.090 I want you to basically share with us what you think the gift of having a disablitiy or different ability is 0:29:43.888,0:29:45.142 Well 0:29:48.510,0:29:57.090 Having a disability or different ability gives me- Ah, that's the way to put it. 0:29:57.090,0:30:10.317 Having a disability gives me the different ability to see or experience the world 0:30:10.317,0:30:13.315 from a different point of view 0:30:13.315,0:30:16.920 And what is that point of view? 0:30:16.920,0:30:30.936 To see how I would react or do things differently than the norm or the mainstream. 0:30:30.936,0:30:35.786 Do you think that there are blessings that came along with having cerebral palsy? 0:30:39.032,0:30:58.014 I wouldn't have the friends that I do now who I'm grateful for, who see me for me and not for my disability or anything else 0:31:00.383,0:31:04.514 Do you think it gave you the ability to have compassion for people? 0:31:04.514,0:31:07.473 Yes 0:31:07.473,0:31:19.896 Because, from what I realize from not only myself but other people with different abilities 0:31:19.896,0:31:43.191 Many of us have a kinder heart than most people becasue I'm sure you know that in this day in age, we live in a fast paced world that is go go go 0:31:44.791,0:32:02.611 For somebody like me, somebody who can't go go go. Takes the time to appreciate the world around us. 0:32:02.611,0:32:13.055 We have a kinder heart and we notice everything we appreciate it. 0:32:13.055,0:32:24.927 We know what it takes to get around this world and not just go all the time. 0:32:24.927,0:32:30.695 We like to slow things down. 0:32:30.695,0:32:33.099 Sounds like a beneficial lesson huh? 0:32:33.099,0:32:35.363 Oh yeah 0:32:37.286,0:32:42.483 I think it'd be interesting for most people to know that a disability is not a life sentence 0:32:42.483,0:32:49.161 It is actually possible for people to change their disablities completely regardless of how genetic they are or how non-genetic they are 0:32:50.975,0:32:53.543 but here's the catch, ready? 0:32:53.543,0:32:57.296 Because everyone wants to know that, when I usually get messages from people with disabilities, that's what they want to know 0:32:57.296,0:32:59.841 "How do I get rid of my disability?" 0:32:59.841,0:33:02.911 Why would you want to? 0:33:02.911,0:33:04.470 Well see that's the fun part 0:33:04.470,0:33:07.113 That means you are in a serious level of expansion 0:33:07.113,0:33:08.465 So, this is what I was going to say 0:33:08.465,0:33:12.663 If you want to change your disability, the only way to really do that is to completely embrace it 0:33:12.663,0:33:17.431 and not embrace it becuase you want to change it, embrace it because it feels better to embrace it 0:33:17.431,0:33:20.597 than to live in resistance to your disability for the rest of your life 0:33:20.597,0:33:25.815 But what you'll notice happening when people start to embrace their disabilities, 0:33:25.815,0:33:29.321 and this is the case with one of my favorite colleague teachers 0:33:29.321,0:33:36.292 is that, becuase he is paraplegic from the nipple line down, what he found when he embraced his 0:33:36.292,0:33:43.508 parapalegic state was that he didn't want to change it. Becuase he realized how it enabled him to teach 0:33:43.508,0:33:50.277 Becuase what happens when your big, like before his accident he was 6'5" and really intimidating 0:33:50.277,0:33:54.396 I mean he's a very hansome man, striking, but he's got a very intimidating persona 0:33:54.396,0:33:58.051 He noticed that when he would start to talk people would start to shut down 0:33:58.051,0:34:03.108 but now because he's sitting in chair because people look at him with that attitude of "Oh my gosh, you know... 0:34:03.108,0:34:05.720 this person isn't intimidating they're stuck in a wheelchair." 0:34:05.720,0:34:12.742 They're instantly more open to him, so he's able to teach to people in a way where they are now open to him 0:34:12.742,0:34:15.803 His greatest happiness now is in going around and teaching 0:34:15.803,0:34:19.124 and his message I think is your message as well 0:34:19.124,0:34:24.688 Look, If I can be happy with all of this, than you can do that in your own life, which is ultimately the number one 0:34:24.688,0:34:27.292 reason I wanted you on this Ask Teal episode today 0:34:27.292,0:34:31.708 because I can talk all day long but if you're sitting in front of somebody, especially if you have a disability 0:34:31.708,0:34:34.041 sitting in front of somebody who also has one, who's saying look 0:34:34.041,0:34:35.433 I can be happy, 0:34:35.433,0:34:37.488 I've managed to do it, you can do it too. 0:34:37.488,0:34:44.581 That they may actually start to believe that what they are struggling with is not as bad as they think that it is 0:34:44.581,0:34:49.075 That they can look for the blessing in any sort of circumstance 0:34:49.075,0:34:54.980 Yes, and I teach that each and everyday; that 0:34:54.980,0:35:02.710 anybody and everybody I come into contact with 0:35:06.494,0:35:09.507 You make people happy do you know that? 0:35:09.507,0:35:11.609 I'm glad 0:35:11.609,0:35:15.266 So, I think it's super crucial that those of us who are dealing with disabilities or those 0:35:15.266,0:35:19.199 of us that around people with disabilities need to start switching our focus deliberately 0:35:19.199,0:35:23.816 We need to start looking at what has gone right 0:35:23.816,0:35:25.694 instead of what has gone wrong 0:35:25.694,0:35:27.756 Right 0:35:33.016,0:35:41.507 Anything and everything will happen. I believe that whole heartedly 0:35:41.507,0:35:54.963 Once you put your focus on it and put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything and everything 0:35:54.963,0:36:02.018 So if you had some closing statements... What I want you to do is tell those of us that don't have disabilities 0:36:02.018,0:36:06.675 what your view on disabilities is and what you'd want from us 0:36:13.679,0:36:17.263 This is your soap box, you get to talk to the rest of the nation 0:36:17.914,0:36:32.970 Personally I am not looking for pity. I know we talked about that earlier. I am not looking for pity 0:36:32.970,0:36:46.418 I don't want anybody to come up to me and say "Oh, I'm sorry you are in a wheelchair" and all that 0:36:46.434,0:37:01.868 I'm not sorry, I embrace it, like I said before. This is who I am and I teach people how to handle it, 0:37:01.868,0:37:15.406 what to do in certain scenarios and empower people. That's what I'm all about. 0:37:19.842,0:37:33.258 I enjoy each and every moment of my life. I never get down on myself because I know deep down inside 0:37:33.258,0:37:40.617 that I am capable of doing anything and everything. 0:37:44.140,0:37:51.907 Anybody can ask me anything about my disability 0:37:51.907,0:38:07.070 A lot of people ask me, before they ask anything else, "May I ask you a question about your disability without you getting offended?" 0:38:07.070,0:38:22.738 Of course, I have nothing to hide. Obviously you can see you my wheelchair so why would I hide that? 0:38:22.738,0:38:35.405 If you wanted to know something about it or any disability, I will answer it to the best of my ability 0:38:35.405,0:38:45.272 If I don't know the answer and I will see you later on, I will get back to you. 0:38:48.564,0:39:02.443 I encourage everyone, with or without a disability, to live their lives out and to embrace each and every 0:39:02.443,0:39:13.871 moment of their day, no matter what their problems are or whatever things that they are dealing with 0:39:13.871,0:39:28.779 All that doesn't matter. We all have the capability of doing whatever we want and we are here to be happy 0:39:28.779,0:39:32.680 So why not go for that? 0:39:35.326,0:39:36.879 I like that 0:39:37.154,0:39:44.499 That's what very thing that I teach each and everyday 0:39:44.499,0:39:56.422 To have people reach for the stars, go for their personal happiness. They deserve it. 0:39:56.422,0:40:06.834 So I give you all positive energy, right here and now. 0:40:08.140,0:40:13.905 So, because this is a spiritual show, and what I'm trying to demonstrate is that there is from 0:40:13.906,0:40:21.505 your soul perspective, there is a major benefit to coming in with a "disability" or "different" ability 0:40:21.505,0:40:28.562 Right, so lets say that you come in and you're unable to move your limbs because your body is a challenge for you right. 0:40:28.562,0:40:32.394 Than you have to learn who you really are separate from the body 0:40:34.132,0:40:40.920 and so from a universal perspective we would consider someone with cerbral palsy to be eventually 0:40:40.920,0:40:44.959 if they line up with that expansion, not if they continue to focus on the limitation 0:40:44.959,0:40:54.334 but if they line up if the perspective like you have, we consider that person to be a master of mind versus matter 0:40:54.334,0:40:59.734 It means that you've seen outside the matrix moreso than most people who are walking the planet earth 0:40:59.734,0:41:05.362 and that's exactly why you chose to come down like this 0:41:05.362,0:41:15.318 So, then what I want you to do is to tell us what you would want us to think when we saw you. 0:41:16.609,0:41:23.957 Because, you know that when most people walk by someone with a disability they go "Oh my gosh, that poor little guy" 0:41:23.957,0:41:27.163 What would you have us think 0:41:27.163,0:41:29.728 if you had your way? 0:41:31.904,0:41:40.523 I would want you to see through my eyes and into my spirit 0:41:40.523,0:41:44.706 That is the best answer I've ever received 0:41:45.936,0:41:51.643 That is what each and everybody should be doing. 0:41:51.643,0:41:54.966 I think that is what everybody wants regardless of whether they have disabilities or not 0:41:54.966,0:42:04.747 they want that level of intimacy, where someone's capable of getting beyond the external mask of our physical structure 0:42:04.747,0:42:14.515 We have reached a point in our society where everyone has some kind of label 0:42:14.515,0:42:24.991 and we need to get past that, and the only way to do that or at least to remove that label 0:42:24.991,0:42:36.019 is to look into our soul into our spirit and get to know the person inside 0:42:36.019,0:42:40.890 and see people for who they really are 0:42:40.890,0:42:45.870 Nothing like a label to force you to have to find the real you, right? 0:42:45.870,0:42:55.251 Right, do I want to be labeled as disabled or have a disability? No, 0:42:55.251,0:43:05.356 but unfortunately society has done that to me. Do I really care? No 0:43:05.356,0:43:28.258 because I make my own label per se. I am outside the box, I'm outside the matrix, as you said, and I make my own persona 0:43:28.258,0:43:47.822 I don't fall into one or any set category that society has made or created 0:43:52.251,0:43:59.128 So to close what I want you to do is to tell us whatever final message you think is important, relative to the subject of disabilities 0:43:59.128,0:44:05.714 This is your major lasting impact. What is it you'd want to say? 0:44:05.714,0:44:11.037 My last major impact? Okay. 0:44:11.037,0:44:15.878 I'm sure it'll be just the first of many to come from you. 0:44:18.554,0:44:27.979 For those who are asking and I hope there are millions of you, I would like to tell you 0:44:27.979,0:44:36.439 That you can achieve anything you want, anything and everything 0:44:36.439,0:44:50.089 Open your mind, realize that there are an infinite number of opportunities available to you each and every moment 0:44:50.089,0:45:04.560 such as now, now, now, now and if you, somewhere down the line make a wrong choice 0:45:04.560,0:45:14.474 it's not really wrong because the very next moment you could take a different opportunity 0:45:14.474,0:45:30.165 and go, attract your personal happiness and go a different route. So, again I encourage each and every one of you 0:45:30.165,0:45:42.591 to go towards your personal happiness, whatever that may be. And that is basically the meaning of life 0:45:42.591,0:45:58.310 and we are all here to embrace our lives, embrace what we are capable of and I give you lots of love and 0:45:58.310,0:46:07.552 light and energy in order to do that and I wish you well 0:46:10.242,0:46:23.261 whether you have a disability or not, it doesn't really matter... whether you are Black, White, Gay, Straight, Man, Woman, 0:46:23.261,0:46:39.066 whatever, it doesn't really matter because you are you and you are the only one who can tell what is your happiness 0:46:39.066,0:46:46.211 Nobody else can tell you. You have to find it out on your own and once you do 0:46:47.380,0:46:57.214 attract it, move towards it, focus, and just be 0:46:58.336,0:47:02.342 Well, thank you so much for joining us for this Ask Teal episode 0:47:02.342,0:47:06.954 Well I appreciate you having me 0:47:06.954,0:47:11.818 Thank you everybody for joining us and you heard it straight from the source. It's time to embrace your own 0:47:11.818,0:47:14.737 different abilities because we all have them 0:47:14.737,0:47:16.734 Have a good week
