Hi Cory, I want to thank you for your very passionate and very well articulated
concern about the lack of group study space at AC
I will say to you that that is a constant struggle with college space.
I would expand it to say that it's very difficult to have enough group study space,
2-4 student being able to work on group projects together, study together...
But also that real quiet space that some students need in order to be able to study and learn their material,
Because everybody has different learning styles, and different study styles.
So, some of our buildings are old and were never designed for that kind of space.
A very different model of learning.
Some of our new buildings - if you notice between ACCE and B building,
There are those pods that give you that study space
It's hard for us to have enough, but I will commit to you
That as we're looking at renovations, and as we're looking at
- we're doing a study this year on our library -
We'll be keeping group study space and that real quiet study space
First and foremost in our minds as we plan new space.
You may want to know as well, that during exams,
we do extend our library hours so that there is that availability of study space for you.
And we also track the use of the library and we can adjust our hours according to the demand.
Keep remind us of that, and make sure that as we plan new space here,
and renovations at the college, that your student voice is heard and what you need.
So thanks very much for your great question, and your very well explained issue.
