What do I have to relate? 00:06:12.375 --> 00:06:16.765 Will they take me seriously? 00:07:21.070 the waiting, the smell of their bunk bed. 00:07:21.071 --> 00:07:23.306 Some guys never write about prison. 00:07:23.307 --> 00:07:26.446 They write about their families, about their neighborhoods, 00:07:26.447 --> 00:07:29.323 the curried goat at the corner store. 00:07:29.324 --> 00:07:33.308 Some write about their innocence, some write about their guilt. 00:07:33.978 --> what it's like to have 00:08:45.031 --> 00:08:47.335 a group of people that want to make you better. 00:08:47.336 --> 00:08:50.997 I learn what it feels like to tear some soft part of yourself, 00:10:06.025 --> 00:10:10.279 something that the guards don't like and can even shut the workshop down over. 00:10:10.280 --> 00:10:13.626 For Tim, there's a risk of looking like a suck-up, teacher named Mr. Clemson. 00:12:04.707 --> 00:12:07.324 Mr. Clemson and I had a great relationship, 00:12:07.325 --> 00:12:08.701 but he was tough on me. 00:12:08.702 --> 00:12:11.168 As I read through the piece, I could hear him going, 00:12:11.169 --> 00:12:12.855 "This part doesn't make any sense." 00:12:12.856 --> 00:12:14.501 "What are you trying to say here?" 00:12:14.502 --> 00:12:18.571 "This line is not nearly as funny as you think it is." 00:12:18.572 --> 00:12:23.668 And with that, Mr. Parker taught me to take risks in my first draft 00:12:23.669 --> 00:12:26.540 and
