TIMOTHY OLSON: Plastic waste. Nature doesn't deserve this. We need to take care of it.
WOMAN 1: It's our time to take action.
MAN 2: To invent, to create.
MAN 3: At the very edge of what's possible.
SINGER: (SINGING) I need water.
CYRILL GUTSCH: Where some see a beach covered with plastic waste,
we see opportunity to invent, to create,
to collaborate, and together with Adidas,
we were able to prove that sustainability is not a sacrifice.
Looking at a plastic bottle,
you don't think of making a shoe from it.
A product can also become a solution,
a new way of doing things,
a symbol of change.
MARWIN HOFFMANN: Adidas and Parley,
we have that spirit of always wanting to improve,
from one to thousand to ten thousands,
and now we're in the millions.
MAN 4: And there they are. They're absolutely beautiful.
MAN 5: I like that.
MAN 6: Parley for the ocean.
MAN 7: Adidas con Parley.
WOMAN 2: Parley for the oceans.
MAN 8: Parley and Adidas collaboration.
SHAAHINA ALI: The Adidas-Parley partnership has given hope.
Every piece of plastic you avoid is plastic piece less that will end up in the ocean.
CYRILL GUTSCH: People all around the world are intercepting plastic waste. We clean it.
We shred it down, and then we melt it into
new building blocks that allow us to extrude yarn.
These are the building blocks of a shoe.
People couldn't believe that one could turn
all this plastic waste into premium products. (MUSIC)
MARTIN LOVE: We're building product now where we're giving people
the opportunity to get involved in the conversation and be part of the solution.
TIMOTHY OLSON: We need to unite, and we need to work together.
DOMINIC THIEM: I won my first Masters title with them.
Without any doubt, I can perform on the absolute highest level.
CYRILL GUTSCH: Creating something new is beautiful.
It's about going out there and protecting life.
This relates to every human being on this planet.
This is bigger than sport.
It's a new way of thinking, and we're not finished yet. (MUSIC)
