WOW
What is the meaning of travel to you?
What is the meaning of travel to you?
Is it to relax
or to broaden your horizons?
For me,
“travel” means stepping out of the original environment
and exploring new places.
And the best way to practice “going”
is by riding.
Speed makes you forget everything,
but you won’t forget the scenery
you see along the way.
It’s about feeling the sunset, the stars,
the changing air
between the mountains and the coast,
and the rainwater.
Guten Tag! I'm FroppyDanCho!
The journey quietly reached the third day
And today
It will also be the longest day
of the six-day Kyushu tour
Today we
Our destination is Kagoshima, 430 kilometers away
It may take up to 10 hours of riding
So
Without further ado
Let's set off immediately!
Before talking about the first destination
I want to share with you
some interesting stories from the Japanese highways these past few days
In Taiwan
We might see signs warning of animals
But
"Beware of Raccoons"
I have never seen that
Next is something unique to the East Kyushu Expressway
"Watch out for distractions"
It is intended to remind drivers
not to get distracted by the fighter jets!
Each prefecture and city has its own unique representative symbol
Every time you enter the next city, you will see distinctive signs
After about an hour of riding
we arrived at today's first stop
at the intersection :)
Before getting into the main topic
Due to the exceptionally good weather on this day
We had just started our journey
and the moisture in our bodies was almost completely evaporated
So anything will do
Just give me a drink!
Froppy: (Japanese) Okay!
Shopkeeper: Six hundred
Froppy:Six hundred, okay!
Ming: It's like...
Ming:Kumquat lemon
Froppy:Really?
Froppy:That's nice!
Ming:But its sourness is not like that of a lemon
Froppy:Oh!
Froppy:It's very "mango"!
Ming:Try it...
Ming:It's a mixed orange flavor
We are now heading to
the famous Aoshima Shrine in Miyazaki Prefecture
the famous Aoshima Shrine in Miyazaki Prefecture
After parking in the designated parking lot
you need to walk about 15 minutes
to reach the island "Aoshima"
Walking along the coastline
surrounded by undulating rock formations
The sedimentary rocks rising from the sea
have been eroded by waves for hundreds of years
forming a washboard-like shape
Hence the name "Ogre's Washboard"
I also came to see this view
(The summer hand-washing water is always cool and refreshing)
(First experience of the purification ritual)
(The seaside shrine with the blue sky is absolutely beautiful)
(The kindergarten children on the outing are so cute)
Today's schedule is tight
At the time of editing
I realized that I skipped the breakfast and lunch scenes on this day
I can't remember if I actually ate
But deeply etched in my mind
is the heat of that day
Maybe that's why my appetite decreased
Maybe that's why my appetite decreased
But don't worry everyone
We always adhere to
the concept of resting when tired and continue the journey
No one was abused in the video XD
On the contrary
Being able to enjoy such good weather
and the endless sea view
is really something to be grateful for
(The body honestly and without hesitation stopped under the shade)
Froppy: Look, look!
Froppy: "It" is really on the edge of the cliff!
Next,
we will walk to
the only cave shrine in Japan
"Udo Shrine"
This spot
When I was planning the itinerary
I marked it as
a place I must visit no matter what
Once you enter the shrine area
The first thing to do is to get a goshuin (seal stamp)
And Ming, as always
is choosing amulets to give to friends
Located in the northeastern part of Miyazaki Prefecture, "Udo Shrine"
is situated on a cliff facing the Nichinan coast
The entire pilgrimage route is built almost along the coast
There are many places along the way where you can enjoy the sea view
This is also one of the charms of Udo Shrine
To visit and worship
you need to cross the Chidori Bridge
and go down the stairs along the mountain wall to reach the main hall
With my surprised face
represents the shock I felt when I first saw the main deity of the shrine
(Maybe 1% of it is also due to my fear of heights)
On the way to the main hall
you can see many people coming to worship
throwing something towards the sea
This is an experience called "Unatama Nage" (Lucky Ball Throwing)
Throwing the lucky ball into the hollow of the turtle stone
to make a wish come true
Ming:Extreme architecture (what an odd description :D)
It is said that this is the birthplace of Hiko Nagisatake Ugayafukiaezu no Mikoto
According to legend, Emperor Jimmu's mother, Tamayori-hime, gave birth to him here
and placed him in a boat woven from cormorant grass
This is also the origin of the shrine's name
The main deity of Udo Shrine is this imperial ancestor god
It also enshrines other imperial ancestor gods and Emperor Jimmu
These legends and customs make Udo Shrine a place full of mystery and spiritual power
attracting many believers and tourists to visit and worship
And when it appeared before my eyes
I began to imagine how much wind, rain, and natural disasters it has withstood
A feeling of reassurance welled up
After a morning of physical and mental cleansing
Whether it was the blue sea and sky of Aoshima
or the natural craftsmanship of Udo
I took it all in
and kept it in my heart
and took it to the next place we were going
which is also one of the highlights of this trip
The four extreme points of mainland Japan
The southernmost "Cape Sata"
It is also known as the "most difficult point"
As the name implies, it is the most difficult of the four extreme points to reach
Although "Cape Sata" is located in Minami-Osumi Town, Kagoshima Prefecture
it is about three hours away from the well-known Kagoshima city center
it is about three hours away from the well-known Kagoshima city center
And we are now proceeding from Nichinan
It will also take about 150 kilometers and three hours
No time for nonsense
Let's go!
Cute old man 1: (Japanese) Do you add unleaded gasoline to this?
Froppy: (Japanese) Fill it up with unleaded gasoline
Froppy: Is there a convenience store nearby? (Completely incorrect Japanese grammar)
Cute old man 2: (Explaining)
Froppy: (Japanese) Behind?
Cute old man 2: (Continues explaining)
Froppy: Oh~~
Froppy: Are you okay?
Ming:I'm okay
Froppy: Do you want to spray?
Here we introduce to everyone
Our unanimously recommended essential item for summer riding
"GATSBY Ice-Type Body Spray"
One spray to get you through the hot summer
Froppy: Then can you spray me?
(Being reserved)
(Cute old man 2 talking)
Froppy: Oh~~~
Froppy: Starting to feel it!
(Passing through the southernmost gate of Cape Sata!)
(The sea is unbelievably blue)
(Matcha mountains everywhere)
(31st Parallel North Observation Plaza)
Accompanied by coastal scenery all the way
Three hours felt like a moment
We successfully arrived at the place where we can get the southernmost point certificate
Cape Sata Tourist Information Center
We arrived just before closing time
Froppy: (Japanese) This!
If you also want to come here
Counter staff: (Japanese) This certificate, right!
Be sure to pay attention to the time!
(This is the certificate itself!)
(I'm really excited!)
(Seriously printed today's date for us!)
Counter staff: (Japanese) Here you go~
Ming: (Japanese) Thank you!
Froppy: (Japanese) Is it free?
Counter staff: (Japanese) It's free! It's free!
Froppy: (Japanese) Really!
Froppy: (Japanese) Thank you!
(Conquered the southernmost point!)
(The real southernmost point is right behind)
(About one kilometer from the tourist information center)
(Will visit again if time permits!)
(Don't forget to commemorate the 31st parallel north after descending)
Froppy: Eh?
Froppy: Hm?
The sun sets in the west
It also means it's time to return
We set off
Another three-hour endurance test
Maybe a little tired after the whole day
But what greets us
is this scene before us
The scene of the setting sun
Can't help but stare
Can only immerse in this comfortable ride
(The smoking mountain ahead is "Sakurajima")
(Along with the city trams)
Good evening
Everyone
After 10 hours of hardship
We finally arrived at today's accommodation in Kagoshima
FAV HOTEL
Froppy: Are you on the toilet?
Ming: Peeing!
(Laughs)
Ming: Can't pee!?
Froppy: I'm filming!
I really have to praise the high cost-performance ratio of Kagoshima accommodation
The price is just over a thousand yen per person per night
Froppy: And we are on a high floor
You can stay in this spacious room
and well-equipped hotel
Froppy: It was mentioned as a high floor when booking
I sincerely recommend it to everyone
For dinner, we originally planned
to eat the famous Kagoshima black pork hot pot
Fun fact!
Kagoshima black pork has been scientifically proven
to have 3.7 times the umami components of regular pork
and 6.7 times the sweetness components of top-quality meat
We were really looking forward to it
Unfortunately, we arrived in the city too late
We can only save it for the next visit
So we decided
to stroll along Yamanokuchi Main Street
to see if there was anything we wanted to eat
Unexpectedly
we enjoyed a meal
of top-quality wagyu beef until we were stuffed?
(Listen to the sizzling sound of the yakiniku)
(The star of tonight's dinner)
(Oh my Gosh, it's so delicious)
(Unexpectedly found that Ming was serving all the time today)
(Ending the day with my stomach full of wagyu beef is just too blissful!)
Hello everyone
We just
went to LAWSON again before bed
to buy some essential late-night snacks
And then we also drew an Ichiban Kuji
And this gentleman won again...
a figure
Our luggage is really full
It's really troublesome!
Ming: Addicted!
