Alana: So, Ron, king of AminoGenesis and amino acids,
what would you say are the warnings or advice that you have for women that are probably
harming their skin without even knowing it?
Ron: That's a great question, because, you know, women and men these days
are so bombarded with different skincare messages, so the first thing that I would
have somebody ask is, when you hear about a new ingredient, the first thing
I would say is, what part of my skin is made of that ingredient?
Like, for instance, you see all these things.
You see gold dust and you see crazy things.
And so, my question is, what part of my skin is made of gold dust?
None of it.
I think you have to be very, very careful, even about ingredients that sound
like they would be good, like, for instance, there's a lot of products that have
pre-made collagen in them.
Well, a lot of those products actually marine collagen or bovine, meaning from cattles,
collagen.
Well, what part of my skin is made of cattle collagen or fish collagen?
None of it.
So, I think what you have to really look at, and how many ingredients have you heard about
that were like all the rage, and then a year later, you never hear about them again?
Alana: There's always fab ingredients that come around.
Ron: That's exactly right, so I think you have to use your own sense,
like antioxidants are very, very good for the skin.
Things that make sense for your skin.
Something that helps with either the skin's ability to function, create more collagen,
more elastin, and stay hydrated.
Those are the keys right there.
All these extraneous ingredients, really have to ask yourself, "Is that what my skin is made of
and how is that supposed to help my skin function and look better?"
Alana: Right. Sounds good.
I think that's a great motto to go by.
