Good day,
The name is Dang.
(I) live in Krung Thep (Bangkok)
(I) am working as a normal seller.
and (I) have a shop in Siam area.
So, (I) have to go back and forth between
(my) home and Siam.
(I) am a genuine city person.
Born here and grew up here,
Therefore, (I) have a lifestyle like a capital born person.
(I) have 1 car
but (I) haven’t used it all that much
because the traffic is very bad
As (you) know, Bangkok has far too many cars
that there’s almost no place for walking
and the air quality is not so good.
But, it is not all that bad.
Because in here, there are a lot of things
hidden from the majority of people.
Such as, the Weekend market
Everyone goes there on Saturday and Sunday
for relaxing, finding delicious food
Buying clothes
Maybe second hand one
from a pile of old clothes
Trying an unusual dishes like
Maybe a curry with rice
cooked by the real locals
Using fresh ingredients, freshly prepare
Maybe (you) might find unusual flavors ice cream
like, an ice cream (which served) in coconut shell,
with coconut in (there),
also with different toppings sprinkle on.
and also, (there) are ...
many different accessories
from Chiang mai, from Phuket
From Sa Mui, and from all over Thailand.
All gathered in Chatuchak (Weekend Market)
If (you) have been there
(I) guarantee that [you would say]
1 day is not enough
(You) have to come back again
again and again in order to search
for things (you) truly want.
Because there are always new stuffs to buy.
On the weekends, aside from going to the weekend market
you could visit one of the rivers.
Personally, I love taking the boat
from one stop to the next along the river.
They’re close together and cheap.
We call it a “boat bus.”
Take off, punch the ticket once and ride leisurely,
taking pictures along the way.
[You] can keep yourself alive easily
because if you’re hungry then you can stop
and get off to look for food wherever it is that you are.
and get off to look for food wherever it is that you are.
There’s going to be general, every day food, not food that’s sold to tourists.
These are places on the side of the street selling all sorts of things like Bahmi noodles or sweets.
Or, you could go meet some locals making uncommon things to sell.
This is a lifestyle where most of the time on my days off
But, if it’s a day where I’m not off,
I’ll absolutely be at home working.
That’s what's good about your office being at your home.
You don’t have to leave that much.
Yeah, I can leave and go to places around where I live,
but I still think about/miss the weekend market every week.
