Happen to pass by Taichung Train Station
If you walk around Taichung Train Station,
you will see the famous Miyahara building left
during the Japanese occupation period
and also souvenir shop
which was once a bank before renovation
Today, I'm going to introduce a place that is frequently mentioned in the tourist guide -
the optometry clinic run by a Japanese doctor Miyahara Takeo during Japanese occupation period in 1927.
Miyahara went back to Japan after the war, while Taichung city government then have jurisdiction over this building
serving as Taichung’s health center, Miyahara is now a historical tourist spot.
(head straight from Miyahara with the train station at your back for 3 minutes)
"Miyahara (Bank)" is a bank during the Japanese occupation period
Look~
it's the door of a treasury!
This is actually the sister shop of Miyahara
It's located a little far away from the train station
(the look inside the shop of Miyahara (bank))
the building is quite fascinating too
can pay a visit here if you are interested
Second Market- It’s a market widely used by Japanese during the Japanese occupation period
I want to have a look around
This market is a market which sells luxuries
It was called the Shintomicho Cultural Market back then
This is a morning market
There is a temple in it
They pray for good trade here
This place is a mixture of Taiwanese and Japanese culture
Like making Taiwanese tea with Japanese Sado (tea ceremony). Other special experience can be found here too.

Some of the sections are very similar to Japanese Sado
It smells like honey, unbelievable!
Although it looks just like a usual leaves, it is a kind of tea called “white tea”.
