Friday, November 6th For the month of November, I made it a goal for myself to Start washing my face twice a day again But... I am so lazy No; I took it out, so I will put it to good use I think I just dislike the splashing my face with water part And I have let my dislike for it outweigh my desire for clear skin... Where did my priorities go? Here they are! I only have a few weeks left of classes, so I have been focusing all my attention toward my final projects Basically my mind went: school > self-care "I can take care of my skin once I am done stressing about school" No, today I am going to outsmart my own brain and do both Got to keep my eye on the prize though The prize being Winter Break More specifically, laying around doing nothing for a few weeks Okay! Let's work toward the goal right now Working hard... I am happy to report that I have finally pulled myself out of my burnout slump! With the end of the semester in sight, I suddenly have all the motivation to finish strong Motivation is fleeting, so I will harness all of its energy while I can Then why am I here? I had to run a few errands today and I ended up at a craft store It was my own two feet that brought me to the knitting section though I wanted to pick up material for a project to work on when I finish school It is getting colder so I want to make a blanket This is supposed to be an activity for when I finish my assignments Actually, I think I will start it now Professor, I haven't turned in my assignments yet, but I can make a knot! I couldn't help myself from starting already I did say that this is going to be a healing vlog And what is more healing than weaving a cozy blanket and listening to Ariana Grande's "Christmas & Chill (playlist)" in November? That was a nice break But now I am ready to get back to studying Reality: No, I can do this! I wish I could speed up studying like this in real life I would be too powerful for the world to handle My mortal abilities will suffice for now I am happy to say that I have that I have finally caught up With all the work I had to do for this class! "Done" x384 Today I am in the mood to bake I made shortbread cookies recently and had leftover dough I saved it in the fridge and now it is as solid as a rock... Unintentional arm workout I found these cute cookie cutters in a drawer and I have to use them! The dough did not want to leave the cookie cutters I am sorry dough, but I cannot let you guys be together today Cutting out stars, hearts and leaf shapes Most of them are leaves for Autumn Used up all the dough! Realizing I cannot fit both sheets in at once One at a time it is! I will clean the dishes while they bake Dropping everything They only took 12 minutes to bake! Maybe it should have been a little longer... Shortbread cookies are delicious on their own But dipping them in melted chocolate is next level And we are ready! A warm, chocolate bath for the cookies Make sure it is not dripping This one is an apple cut-out Is this a kind of apple bobbing? I don't know, I don't participate in those things so I am guessing A cute heart one They have to cool in the fridge for awhile, but I will be back for them soon~ Working on my blanket again as I attend lecture Weaving this blanket is so calming I like giving my hands something to do like this where they can move on autopilot It is actually easier for me to focus on the lecture because I do not have the temptation to browse the Internet instead Good thing having my face camera on is optional in this class I am not trying to give a weaving demonstration right now I am making it a goal for 2021 to start weight training! In terms of my workout routine, I usually stick to pilates and doing fun cardio dances But recently I have been doing research on how to gain muscle mass And I want to try out weightlifting I have tried weightlifting in the past, but I did not stick to it I don't know why. This time I will give it another shot! Right now I am very, very weak So I am trying resistance bands first to build up my strength Then I can move on to actual weights It is so cold I am wearing two layers of socks Working out will warm me up at least Figuring things out as I go I will be you soon Post-workout snack... Let's make dinner Tonight I am making Miso Nikomi Udon First I have to make the dashi This is the soup stock that the noodles will go in I am telling you these things like I am a chef or something But I am actually reading off a recipe I printed out I couldn't find any Japanese fishcakes at the market, so I will use Korean ones There is a lot of preparation work for this recipe, so I was trying to get it done while the dashi cooked Oh, hi there Wait a minute... I really forgot to boil the water first lmao We won't speak of that, okay? I exposed my own inexperience whoops Now in goes the dashi Cook some chicken in it too Take a generous amount of miso And combine it with mirin Move over chicken, the bath is big enough for both of you Toss everything else in the pot The time-consuming prep work is supplemented by low-maintenance cooking What am I cutting now?
