0:00:10.940,0:00:17.830 The main character from Hollow Knight is really[br]good at killing things: Old men, newborn babies, 0:00:17.830,0:00:20.930 and yes, even people who are already dead. 0:00:20.930,0:00:25.260 Throughout Hallownest are numerous ghosts,[br]remnant memories of travelers long gone. 0:00:25.260,0:00:29.160 There’s the gravedigger who died after falling[br]into a grave. 0:00:29.160,0:00:34.300 There’s Millybug who died selling cookies,[br]a dangerous profession indeed. 0:00:34.300,0:00:38.989 And then there’s Marissa, the butterfly[br]who can be heard singing in the City of Tears. 0:00:38.989,0:00:43.899 All of these ghosts can be struck with the[br]Dream Nail in exchange for essence. 0:00:43.899,0:00:48.469 Now this raises a slew of ethical questions[br]about whether dream nailing a ghost is humane 0:00:48.469,0:00:49.600 or not. 0:00:49.600,0:00:51.601 Does the ghost constitute an actual conscious[br]being? 0:00:51.601,0:00:55.379 Is being a ghost better than not existing[br]at all? 0:00:55.379,0:00:59.500 Can they use their ghostly powers to shoot[br]lightning out of the sky? 0:00:59.500,0:01:03.170 The ghosts in Hollow Knight might seem pretty[br]random, but that’s because most of them 0:01:03.170,0:01:06.800 were actually characters designed by Kickstarter[br]backers. 0:01:06.800,0:01:13.870 Hence why we get characters like this Guts[br]knockoff, created by David Waldie and Kcin, 0:01:13.870,0:01:16.410 created by Nick. 0:01:16.410,0:01:22.320 But today, we’re going to look at one specific[br]group of backer characters: the dream warriors. 0:01:22.320,0:01:26.190 One of the Kickstarter backer rewards was[br]to create a dream boss that the player would 0:01:26.190,0:01:27.650 be able to fight. 0:01:27.650,0:01:32.300 There were originally ten backers for this[br]tier, but only seven backers provided details 0:01:32.300,0:01:33.830 for characters. 0:01:33.830,0:01:36.620 What happened to the other three backers,[br]you ask? 0:01:36.620,0:01:39.270 Well, that’s a good question. 0:01:39.270,0:01:42.800 These bosses don’t really give us any greater[br]information about the lore of Hollow Knight, 0:01:42.800,0:01:47.360 but that hasn’t stopped literally billions[br]of people from begging me to do a video on 0:01:47.360,0:01:48.360 them. 0:01:48.360,0:01:55.290 So without further ado, here is the Dream[br]Warriors’ lore explained. 0:01:55.290,0:01:59.080 First up, we have Xero, created by Constant[br]Pham. 0:01:59.080,0:02:03.280 This dream warrior is located in the Resting[br]Grounds and will probably be the first dream 0:02:03.280,0:02:05.340 warrior new players find. 0:02:05.340,0:02:08.200 Xero dreamt of cutting down the infection[br]in his dreams. 0:02:08.200,0:02:12.400 Because, you know, that’s how you fight[br]infectious diseases. 0:02:12.400,0:02:15.080 Just give everybody swords, obviously. 0:02:15.080,0:02:19.569 But then Xero actually turned his nail against[br]the Pale King, likely due to being infected 0:02:19.569,0:02:21.670 by the Radiance himself. 0:02:21.670,0:02:23.500 This resulted in him getting executed. 0:02:23.500,0:02:28.200 Before his betrayal, it seemed like Xero was[br]actually a faithful soldier, fighting for 0:02:28.200,0:02:30.440 Hallownest and the Pale King. 0:02:30.440,0:02:32.400 What exactly was he fighting against? 0:02:32.400,0:02:37.670 Well, we hear about vague things like the[br]Battle of the Blackwyrm, but other than that, 0:02:37.670,0:02:40.620 I don’t really know what Xero would have[br]done. 0:02:40.620,0:02:44.130 Seems like those bugs building the tram in[br]Deepnest could have used some military back 0:02:44.130,0:02:46.300 up, but what do I know? 0:02:46.300,0:02:50.610 Before the fight, Xero tells the Knight that[br]those who hope are already doomed. 0:02:50.610,0:02:55.130 After the fight, however, he realizes that[br]those who turn against the king are doomed 0:02:55.130,0:02:56.810 as soon as they raise their weapon. 0:02:56.810,0:03:01.470 Honestly I have no idea what this character’s[br]arc is supposed to be. 0:03:01.470,0:03:07.370 But I guess character arcs don’t always[br]have to make sense, so whatever. 0:03:07.370,0:03:09.890 Elder Hu was created by Donald Lynch. 0:03:09.890,0:03:13.750 He was a sage who traveled Hallownest tending[br]to those afflicted by the infection. 0:03:13.750,0:03:17.470 Hu died in the Fungal Wastes nearby the Mantis[br]Village. 0:03:17.470,0:03:20.920 He explains that the mantises below have become[br]mad with the infection. 0:03:20.920,0:03:24.770 But of course, we know the Mantises weren’t[br]infected. 0:03:24.770,0:03:26.950 So not only is Elder Hu dead. 0:03:26.950,0:03:28.190 But he’s also stupid. 0:03:28.190,0:03:33.310 After his defeat, Elder Hu comes to the realization[br]that he was the one infected and that the 0:03:33.310,0:03:35.820 mantises actually killed him. 0:03:35.820,0:03:39.140 This is a common theme among all dream warriors. 0:03:39.140,0:03:42.630 They all think they are still alive when the[br]Knight finds them. 0:03:42.630,0:03:47.670 This is actually different from how Team Cherry[br]originally asked backers to write their dialogue. 0:03:47.670,0:03:52.070 From their original email explaining what[br]details they needed from backers, Team Cherry 0:03:52.070,0:03:55.190 expected the dreamers to actually know they[br]are dead. 0:03:55.190,0:03:59.630 Also, the dreamers were originally going to[br]drop medals that had little messages attached 0:03:59.630,0:04:04.050 to them, which later became what we see in[br]the Hunter’s journal. 0:04:04.050,0:04:07.870 Another interesting change made is the location[br]of the Dream Warriors. 0:04:07.870,0:04:13.020 It appears the warriors were all going to[br]be found in one location, the Queen’s Glade. 0:04:13.020,0:04:17.090 We can tell from an old development map of[br]Hallownest that the Queen’s Glade was located 0:04:17.090,0:04:22.440 where the current day Ancient Basin is found,[br]just below the White Palace foundation. 0:04:22.440,0:04:26.820 The Glade was guarded by Fierce Dryya, who[br]was originally going to be a boss. 0:04:26.820,0:04:31.820 In other words, there would have been eleven[br]boss fights in just this one spot of the map. 0:04:31.820,0:04:35.150 Honestly, I’m happy Team Cherry decided[br]not to do this. 0:04:35.150,0:04:40.310 Putting the dream warriors in their own locations[br]makes them feel more organic, like they actually 0:04:40.310,0:04:42.440 belong in the world. 0:04:42.440,0:04:47.620 Elder Hu appears to be based on the buddist[br]tradition, as he wears mala, or prayer beads 0:04:47.620,0:04:48.780 around his neck. 0:04:48.780,0:04:52.910 I would normally say this feels out of place,[br]but it seems like Team Cherry is actually 0:04:52.910,0:04:59.340 going to incorporate another character into[br]Silksong who uses this same aesthetic: Shakra. 0:04:59.340,0:05:02.550 So it seems like we might get a little more[br]information about whatever group Elder Hu 0:05:02.550,0:05:10.520 was a part of when Hollow Knight Silksong[br]releases in 2054. 0:05:10.520,0:05:14.570 Galien was created by Zachary Virden and can[br]be found in Deepnest. 0:05:14.570,0:05:19.080 Galien proclaimed himself as the strongest[br]warrior in Hallownest and claims he is only 0:05:19.080,0:05:22.940 interested in fighting the Knight for the[br]sake of jolly combat. 0:05:22.940,0:05:27.600 Galien traveled into Deepnest so that he could[br]train himself by fighting the bugs found there. 0:05:27.600,0:05:29.880 But he was eventually killed off by the beasts. 0:05:29.880,0:05:33.750 What’s interesting about Galien is that[br]he actually comments about seeing his own 0:05:33.750,0:05:37.889 body laying on the ground, but he doesn’t[br]even recognize that it’s him. 0:05:37.889,0:05:42.570 That seems to confirm that ghosts are not[br]just confused, but in denial about their own 0:05:42.570,0:05:43.570 deaths. 0:05:43.570,0:05:48.240 I mean, Wayner in the Spirit’s Glade is[br]literally holding his head in his hands, and 0:05:48.240,0:05:50.510 still thinks he is alive. 0:05:50.510,0:05:55.229 Anyone who watches shows about real life,[br]actual ghost hunting, knows that ghosts tend 0:05:55.229,0:06:00.500 to be human spirits trapped in the past, ignorant[br]of the fact that they are ghosts. 0:06:00.500,0:06:04.820 Another kinda interesting but not really fact[br]is that Galien is the only dream warrior to 0:06:04.820,0:06:08.120 actually use a physical weapon during combat. 0:06:08.120,0:06:13.900 The other dreamers just shoot magical projectiles[br]or roll up into a ball or summon ghosts of 0:06:13.900,0:06:15.610 their dead babies to attack you. 0:06:15.610,0:06:23.240 Kinda makes me wonder how bugs like Xero and[br]Gorb actually fought when they were alive. 0:06:23.240,0:06:28.259 Marmu was created by Zara Pellen, AKA William[br]Pellen’s own mother. 0:06:28.259,0:06:32.449 Marmu acted as the protector of the Queen’s[br]Garden, waiting patiently for the return of 0:06:32.449,0:06:35.710 her queen, presumably the White Lady. 0:06:35.710,0:06:39.840 Apparently the White Lady was going to teach[br]Marmu how to fly… which seems kinda odd 0:06:39.840,0:06:43.630 considering the White Lady wouldn’t know[br]the first thing about flying considering she 0:06:43.630,0:06:45.430 is literally a plant. 0:06:45.430,0:06:47.940 A root flying, what’s next? 0:06:47.940,0:06:49.930 Pigs walking on land? 0:06:49.930,0:06:54.639 Marmu appears to be based on a real life insect[br]called a puss moth caterpillar. 0:06:54.639,0:06:59.270 This could be why Marmu talks about learning[br]to fly, but this raises a lot of questions 0:06:59.270,0:07:02.139 about how we should examine Hollow Knight[br]lore. 0:07:02.139,0:07:07.389 This would technically mean that Marmu is[br]going to transform into a moth, but she doesn’t 0:07:07.389,0:07:09.660 seem to be related to the Moth tribe. 0:07:09.660,0:07:13.840 So are there groups of moths that wander around[br]outside the moth tribe? 0:07:13.840,0:07:17.780 Does Marmu even care about dreams or the dead[br]like the Moth Tribe did? 0:07:17.780,0:07:20.400 Can Marmu shoot fucking swords out of her[br]face? 0:07:20.400,0:07:24.830 To me, it seems like Marmu really doesn’t[br]have anything to do with Seer and her group. 0:07:24.830,0:07:29.289 Marmu being based on an insect that becomes[br]a moth in real life doesn’t mean this character 0:07:29.289,0:07:32.500 has anything to do with the other moths. 0:07:32.500,0:07:36.700 There just isn’t a narrative or even aesthetic[br]connection between them. 0:07:36.700,0:07:38.330 This same thing happens with grubs. 0:07:38.330,0:07:42.320 I always see comments from people trying to[br]tell me that the grubs are going to turn into 0:07:42.320,0:07:47.410 little Radiances because they are caterpillars,[br]and while that might make sense on the surface, 0:07:47.410,0:07:52.490 we know that grubs turn into Grubberflies,[br]which is just a completely made up thing. 0:07:52.490,0:07:57.080 The biology of bugs in Hollow Knight doesn’t[br]have to follow reality by any means. 0:07:57.080,0:08:01.400 For all we know Marmu might evolve into a[br]2001 Honda Civic. 0:08:01.400,0:08:09.300 However, there is one Dream Warrior that is[br]directly tied to the moth tribe, Markoth. 0:08:09.300,0:08:13.730 Markoth is unique to the moth tribe however,[br]as he was one of the only members to take 0:08:13.730,0:08:14.910 up a weapon. 0:08:14.910,0:08:19.900 In fact, the only other moth we know of who[br]did this is Thistlewind, another backer character 0:08:19.900,0:08:21.910 found in the Spirit’s Glade. 0:08:21.910,0:08:26.530 Thistlewind even mentions Markoth, making[br]him the only Dream Warrior to ever be acknowledged 0:08:26.530,0:08:29.350 by anyone other than the Knight. 0:08:29.350,0:08:32.490 Markoth can be found on the outskirts of the[br]Kingdom’s Edge. 0:08:32.490,0:08:36.610 Thistlewind says he came out here to uncover[br]some forgotten truth. 0:08:36.610,0:08:41.399 Unfortunately, Markoth is too busy threatening[br]us with death to tell us what he was looking 0:08:41.399,0:08:42.399 for. 0:08:42.399,0:08:47.480 Maybe he heard about the Wyrm corpse, or maybe[br]he wanted to learn about the Hive, or maybe 0:08:47.480,0:08:50.700 he wanted to see what was beyond this stupid-ass[br]tent. 0:08:50.700,0:08:56.000 I was lucky enough to get into contact with[br]Samuel Dixon, the backer who originally designed 0:08:56.000,0:08:57.000 Markoth. 0:08:57.000,0:09:01.310 And Samuel was even able to provide me with[br]his original instructions for Markoth that 0:09:01.310,0:09:03.220 he sent to Team Cherry. 0:09:03.220,0:09:07.590 If we compare Samuel’s dialogue to what[br]made it into the final game, we can see that 0:09:07.590,0:09:11.530 Team Cherry kept Markoth’s battle-worn stoic[br]personality. 0:09:11.530,0:09:17.180 However, after being defeated, Markoth gains[br]some perspective in the final game, as opposed 0:09:17.180,0:09:19.890 to still being a complete dick. 0:09:19.890,0:09:23.730 Finally we can see that the dialogue for the[br]emblem Markoth would have given you is similar 0:09:23.730,0:09:26.250 to the quote in the Hunter’s Journal. 0:09:26.250,0:09:30.420 According to Samuel, Markoth was supposed[br]to position himself in the far corners of 0:09:30.420,0:09:34.580 the room, and then throw two nails and his[br]shield at the Knight. 0:09:34.580,0:09:38.140 The Knight could then deal damage, which would[br]prompt Markoth to move to a different corner 0:09:38.140,0:09:39.339 of the room. 0:09:39.339,0:09:44.050 In the final game, Markoth kinda just floats[br]around wherever he wants like a fart in the 0:09:44.050,0:09:45.050 wind. 0:09:45.050,0:09:49.360 Samuel didn’t have any lore to share with[br]me about Markoth, so whatever his connection 0:09:49.360,0:09:54.250 is to the lore of Hallownest, it appears to[br]have been manufactured by Team Cherry themselves. 0:09:54.250,0:09:59.180 So unfortunately, we still don’t really[br]know the finer details of what truth Markoth 0:09:59.180,0:10:00.880 was looking for. 0:10:00.880,0:10:05.810 There is another incredibly cryptic Dream[br]Warrior that we really do need to discuss. 0:10:05.810,0:10:10.540 The deep and disturbing lore surrounding this[br]character has haunted me for years now, and 0:10:10.540,0:10:12.890 I think it’s finally time we discussed them. 0:10:12.890,0:10:16.820 I am of course talking about Gorb. 0:10:16.820,0:10:22.810 A monument to Gorb can be found in the Howling[br]Cliffs where he is described as “the Great 0:10:22.810,0:10:23.810 Mind”. 0:10:23.810,0:10:27.580 Gorb claimed to contain all of the world’s[br]knowledge inside of his giant brain. 0:10:27.580,0:10:31.640 Gorb demanded that others bow to him and ascend[br]with him. 0:10:31.640,0:10:34.620 What does it mean to “ascend with Gorb”[br]exactly? 0:10:34.620,0:10:37.410 Was he handing out pamphlets or something? 0:10:37.410,0:10:41.040 A pretty common theory is that Gorb is actually[br]a Godseeker. 0:10:41.040,0:10:45.180 This is because of visual similarities and[br]the fact that the Godseeker also never shut 0:10:45.180,0:10:46.670 up about ascending. 0:10:46.670,0:10:51.850 However, I would say that Gorb appears to[br]be more like a slug creature, while the Godseekers 0:10:51.850,0:10:54.290 appear to be bandaged up like mummies. 0:10:54.290,0:10:57.010 So we don’t really know what they look like[br]underneath. 0:10:57.010,0:10:59.310 So that’s one point against the theory. 0:10:59.310,0:11:04.610 Also, apparently the Godseekers have absolutely[br]beautiful faces underneath their masks, and 0:11:04.610,0:11:07.450 if we look at Gorb’s face… 0:11:07.450,0:11:09.430 Well actually, that checks out. 0:11:09.430,0:11:13.080 So what does the actual dialogue say about[br]Gorb. 0:11:13.080,0:11:17.310 The Hunter’s Journal entry describes Gorb[br]as being a mysterious life-form. 0:11:17.310,0:11:21.019 That’s a really interesting word to use. 0:11:21.019,0:11:26.670 Now obviously, any living thing is a life-form,[br]but the connotation surrounding that word 0:11:26.670,0:11:30.980 is usually linked to extraterrestrial life. 0:11:30.980,0:11:33.570 So does this mean Gorb is some kind of alien? 0:11:33.570,0:11:40.149 That’s not all, the Hall of Gods also gives[br]a pretty interesting description to Gorb, 0:11:40.149,0:11:44.339 calling him a “Dreamborn god of the beyond”. 0:11:44.339,0:11:47.170 What exactly is “the beyond”? 0:11:47.170,0:11:49.290 Could it be outer space? 0:11:49.290,0:11:53.850 Maybe ascending with Gorb is literally ascending[br]in some kind of spaceship. 0:11:53.850,0:11:59.040 I mean, the architecture of Hallownest seems[br]far too complex for simple bugs. 0:11:59.040,0:12:03.790 It would make much more sense if there was[br]some advanced alien race helping build these 0:12:03.790,0:12:05.180 monuments. 0:12:05.180,0:12:09.220 All of the unexplainable aspects of Hollow[br]Knight lore have any answer. 0:12:09.220,0:12:10.300 Where did Bretta go? 0:12:10.300,0:12:11.300 Aliens! 0:12:11.300,0:12:13.390 How did the Hollow Knight grow? 0:12:13.390,0:12:14.390 Aliens! 0:12:14.390,0:12:16.280 The Pentagon? 0:12:16.280,0:12:17.280 Aliens! 0:12:17.280,0:12:22.709 Now obviously, I am mostly joking, but there[br]really isn’t much to go on with Gorb. 0:12:22.709,0:12:28.800 The concept of the mind, and using it to ascend[br]is a noticeable theme in Hollow Knight. 0:12:28.800,0:12:32.760 But there doesn’t seem to be anything special[br]about Gorb. 0:12:32.760,0:12:35.750 Gorb was created by Aladar Appaponyi. 0:12:35.750,0:12:40.310 Perhaps he could shed some light on why Gorb’s[br]backstory is so incredibly vague and odd. 0:12:40.310,0:12:45.020 I was able to get into contact with Aladar,[br]but apparently he didn’t really have a backstory 0:12:45.020,0:12:46.020 for Gorb. 0:12:46.020,0:12:47.839 He didn’t even give Gorb a name. 0:12:47.839,0:12:51.250 All he gave Team Cherry was this drawing. 0:12:51.250,0:12:55.290 This early version of Gorb was a slug that[br]wielded a nail in his mouth. 0:12:55.290,0:12:59.720 The idea was that he tricked the player into[br]thinking he was weak, but in reality he had 0:12:59.720,0:13:01.610 great defense. 0:13:01.610,0:13:07.870 So it seems all of Gorb’s strange alien[br]nonsense came from Team Cherry themselves. 0:13:07.870,0:13:14.779 This leaves us with one final Dream Warrior:[br]No Eyes. 0:13:14.779,0:13:18.380 No Eyes can be found in the Stone Sanctuary[br]in Greenpath. 0:13:18.380,0:13:21.540 She was a warrior who disappeared during the[br]infection. 0:13:21.540,0:13:25.450 Out of all the dream warriors in the game,[br]I’d say No Eyes is the most interesting 0:13:25.450,0:13:27.540 and the most cryptic. 0:13:27.540,0:13:31.649 No Eyes was first revealed in a Kickstarter[br]update where Team Cherry explained that her 0:13:31.649,0:13:35.920 backstory was one of the most disturbing bits[br]of fiction they had ever read. 0:13:35.920,0:13:41.120 Unfortunately, they didn’t share any details[br]on what her original backstory is, but luckily 0:13:41.120,0:13:46.339 someone on Reddit was able to contact the[br]original backer, Liza Kretzschmar, and provide 0:13:46.339,0:13:48.769 us with No Eyes’ backstory. 0:13:48.769,0:13:53.160 According to the reddit post, No Eyes was[br]off on a quest when the infection spread throughout 0:13:53.160,0:13:54.329 Hallownest. 0:13:54.329,0:13:57.610 She had left her children behind, thinking[br]they would be safe. 0:13:57.610,0:14:01.120 When she returned, she refused to believe[br]that her children could have been killed by 0:14:01.120,0:14:05.470 the infection, so she ran inside the sanctuary[br]to get them out safely. 0:14:05.470,0:14:09.080 She found them inside, both maddened and hungry. 0:14:09.080,0:14:14.120 No Eyes tried to pick up some of her children,[br]but they swarmed her, devouring her eyes along 0:14:14.120,0:14:16.110 with the rest of her body. 0:14:16.110,0:14:20.339 No Eyes’ ghost would warn the player to[br]stay away from the sanctuary. 0:14:20.339,0:14:24.339 Her nursery rhyme that she sings was supposed[br]to actually be instructions on how the player 0:14:24.339,0:14:29.160 needs to move throughout the room in order[br]to avoid getting hit by the children. 0:14:29.160,0:14:33.279 The whole battle was just avoiding the ghosts[br]until all the rounds were finished. 0:14:33.279,0:14:38.029 Of course in the final game, the ghosts are[br]just the way No Eyes attacks as she teleports 0:14:38.029,0:14:39.029 around the room. 0:14:39.029,0:14:49.760 And the nursery rhyme is just gibberish...[br]creepy gibberish. 0:14:49.760,0:14:53.990 This backstory kinda makes sense with No Eyes’[br]quote in the Hunter’s Journal which reads 0:14:53.990,0:14:55.150 “They’re coming… 0:14:55.150,0:14:56.910 What’s inside of you…. 0:14:56.910,0:14:57.910 Strip it out!”. 0:14:57.910,0:15:01.930 It appears as though No Eyes is warning others[br]about her children coming to eat their eyes 0:15:01.930,0:15:02.930 out. 0:15:02.930,0:15:06.750 When the Knight interacts with her, she seems[br]to think the Knight is one of her children 0:15:06.750,0:15:07.750 at first. 0:15:07.750,0:15:11.110 We’ve seen this before that sometimes ghosts[br]don’t really understand what they are looking 0:15:11.110,0:15:15.240 at and… well No Eyes is fucking blind. 0:15:15.240,0:15:18.709 So she’d probably think anyone who walked[br]in there would be her child. 0:15:18.709,0:15:22.070 And she starts by saying “Please, don’t[br]hurt me!” 0:15:22.070,0:15:25.329 Which reinforced the idea that her children[br]attacked her. 0:15:25.329,0:15:28.370 But then the dialogue takes a bit of a turn. 0:15:28.370,0:15:32.410 No Eyes says that the Knight can’t sleep[br]with its eyes open, and it can’t dream if 0:15:32.410,0:15:34.420 it’s still breathing. 0:15:34.420,0:15:38.930 Judging by the sentence structure here, No[br]Eyes wants the Knight to stop breathing so 0:15:38.930,0:15:40.170 it can dream. 0:15:40.170,0:15:44.160 There’s a pretty strong parallel to the[br]Radiance here, especially when we look at 0:15:44.160,0:15:45.890 No Eyes other dialogue. 0:15:45.890,0:15:49.100 So this means No Eyes might have succumbed[br]to the Infection. 0:15:49.100,0:15:54.120 We know that Xero and Elder Hu met similar[br]fates, but this isn’t guaranteed for all 0:15:54.120,0:15:55.610 dream warriors. 0:15:55.610,0:16:01.570 Galien died because he was a moron, and Gorb[br]probably died from a coke overdose. 0:16:01.570,0:16:05.510 So it might be that No Eyes was infected,[br]and then decided to strip the eyes out of 0:16:05.510,0:16:08.440 her children so that they could sleep and[br]dream too. 0:16:08.440,0:16:13.139 That would explain why the ghosts she summons[br]also appear to be missing their eyes. 0:16:13.139,0:16:17.070 We can tell from No Eyes’ next line that[br]this resulted in her children saying loathsome 0:16:17.070,0:16:19.420 things while they slept. 0:16:19.420,0:16:23.730 This might be a reference to the fact that[br]these bugs’ ghosts still haunt the Stone 0:16:23.730,0:16:25.620 Sanctuary. 0:16:25.620,0:16:30.550 Another explanation is that No Eyes tore everyone's[br]eyes out as a preemptive measure to try and 0:16:30.550,0:16:33.010 stop the infection from getting to them. 0:16:33.010,0:16:39.080 Basically she’s blinded all her kids out[br]of fear, but ultimately they all still perished. 0:16:39.080,0:16:43.220 After the battle with the Knight, we see that[br]all of these spirits are finally put to rest, 0:16:43.220,0:16:48.050 and No Eyes embraces being taken to a place[br]where the Radiance’s light and dreams can’t 0:16:48.050,0:16:50.110 haunt her and her children anymore. 0:16:50.110,0:16:54.260 I’m not really sure how the line “They’re[br]coming…” fits into either of these two 0:16:54.260,0:16:56.089 interpretations though. 0:16:56.089,0:16:59.269 Who are “they” if not No Eyes’ children? 0:16:59.269,0:17:00.800 The Radiance? 0:17:00.800,0:17:02.040 Other infected bugs? 0:17:02.040,0:17:06.589 Regardless, it does seem like Team Cherry[br]tweaked the Liza’s original story at least 0:17:06.589,0:17:07.839 a bit. 0:17:07.839,0:17:10.209 And that’s pretty much all I have to say[br]about the dream warriors. 0:17:10.209,0:17:14.399 They haven’t been discussed much on this[br]channel, but that’s mainly just because 0:17:14.399,0:17:19.429 they are pretty inconsequential to anything[br]that actually happens, unlike say a character 0:17:19.429,0:17:21.089 like Menderbug. 0:17:21.089,0:17:23.110 Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that. 0:17:23.110,0:17:26.669 Small, pointless details are what make Hollow[br]Knight such an amazing game. 0:17:26.669,0:17:29.600 Like how the bench in the Archive has Monomon’s[br]face on it. 0:17:29.600,0:17:33.229 Or how the Glowing Womb bugs turn into little[br]turds when you have the Defender’s Crest 0:17:33.229,0:17:34.229 equipped. 0:17:34.229,0:17:37.580 Or how the Nailsmith’s rotting corpse can[br]be found in the junk pit. 0:17:37.580,0:17:39.420 Amazing. 0:17:40.320,0:17:44.500 By the way, have you ever heard of a little[br]hellhole called Discord? 0:17:44.509,0:17:50.169 If so, maybe you’d like to check out my[br]new Discord server called mossbag & friends. 0:17:50.169,0:17:54.789 There, you can talk about all things Hollow[br]Knight or mossbag related. 0:17:54.789,0:17:58.370 Like discussing the moral implications of[br]dream nailing ghosts. 0:17:58.370,0:18:03.109 Or bitching about how the latest Indie World[br]presentation didn’t shadow drop Silksong. 0:18:03.109,0:18:09.019 We even have some amazing invite and banner[br]art created by ZamZam and Yoclesh. 0:18:09.019,0:18:12.580 So please, check the link in the description[br]if you’re interested, and let’s see how 0:18:12.580,0:18:15.809 long it takes before I regret ever creating[br]this server. 0:18:15.809,0:18:17.549 I’m thinking…. 0:18:17.549,0:18:18.419 April.
