Hi, my name is Darren Bridenbeck and I'm the Community Development Manager at Amara and I am in beautiful, sunny Portland, Oregon. And I'm Judit PiƱol, from Catalonia in Spain. And we're hoping you're going to be joining us between the 26th and 30th of September to celebrate International Translation Day At Amara, we think subtitles are important because we believe information should live free, and that by improving access to videos we are building a more rich informed and equitable world. Whether is helping students get access to lectures in their languages or a deaf and hard of hearing user the ability to experience a video for the first time or even just sharing a silly video with a friend of yours we know that video accessibility is a huge cultural issue that we need to face together. We're hoping to meet that challenge by taking a step forward together with all of you. With that, there's three different ways you can celebrate International Translation Day 2016: First, share your story about how subtitles have impacted your life and those around you. Share your story with the hashtag #ITD2016 or email it to us at judit@amara.org for a chance to be featured on the Amara blog and our Social Media outlets throughout the week. Video submissions are also welcome! Next, you can actually help subtitle a video We've been collecting stories from users from all over the globe, sharing their experiences with how subtitles have impacted them and their daily lives, and they need your translation help. Check out the link in the video description to learn more. Finally, you can join us on September 30th, International Translation Day itself, International Translation Day itself, for the Amara Community Summit. This is where we'll be discussing some best practices on building vibrant subtitling communities and the benefits that subtitles bring per culture as a whole If you want to learn more about international Translation Day 2016, check out the link in the video description and we'd love to see you participate! Thank you, and we're looking forward to celebrate ITD with you! That's it, thanks for contributing and Happy Internatonal Translation Day!
