Hey, I'm Hans Rosling!
And to me, the most important report
in September every year is,
"Levels & Trends in Child Mortality",
published by Unicef,
World Health Organization,
the World Bank and the United Nations.
The best statisticians in the World
have compiled reports from all countries,
and what does it tell us?
The number of deaths in children
keeps falling,
and the rate it's falling with
is even faster
than it used to be.
Good news in september, this year!
What does it mean?
If twenty children are born in the world
(these are twenty children),
today it's one of them
that tragically dies
before their fifth birthday.
We have 5% child mortality in the world.
That's too much, but it's
much better than before.
Just in 1990, there were
twice as many children dying.
