Without question, we're living in the
most challenging of times, coping with a
health crisis testing us like never
before. We've changed how we work and how
we live. These changes are not often easy
but they are vitally important. As a city,
we must remain vigilant and strong to
move on together. We're counting on you
to join us in helping to stop the spread
of this deadly virus. By diligently
following the guidance of medical
experts and social distancing now, we can
ensure this won't last forever. With 75
parks covering 4,000 acres and another
81 miles of trails, it's more than
possible to keep safe social distancing.
Please help us keep these public spaces
safe for all users. While library
buildings are closed, you can still dive
into the multitude of stories and
resources, all that we have to offer
online. Do you need internet access?
Simply pull up outside any of our
library locations and you can enjoy our
free public Wi-Fi while maintaining safe
distances of course. We're continuing the
essential services we provide like
picking up trash, yard waste and
recycling. And carefully moving forward
with the street, stormwater, sewer, bridge
and infrastructure improvements we
promised. At a time when our City's most
vulnerable populations are being
challenged the most, we're here to
protect your rights. And we need your help in protecting the men and women on the
front lines of this crisis. The work of
first responders never stops please stay
home and stay healthy so we can focus
our efforts on those who need them most.
With great trial comes great opportunity
for learning and growth. We are preparing
to come back stronger than ever because
together
together
together we can and we will get through
this, Des Moines. Stay home, stay healthy.
We must do our part.
