Growing up disconnected 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 from community and family. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The reason that I do these things, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 like the coming of age because its 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 also my responsibility as a Naheo School 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to protect the children, creator's 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 children. We need to teach them those 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 protocols. We need to teach them 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 values. They need to know them so that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they don't end up getting hurt in 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the future and that shame of our 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 language and who we are, and our 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 cerimonial ways. Losing those has caused 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 big destruction in our communities 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 because our children as they're growing 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 up, they know who they are, they came 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 with the gift of knowing who they are. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I have a responsibility to pass those 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 teachings on to other children too 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 because they will experiment, they will 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 explore and we want to prevent them 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 from hurting each other or [br]hurting themselves. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 (Singing and drums) 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 (Lorraine) They call that (??????????), 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 young manhood and young womanhood. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I want to thank you and honor you for 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 coming into this world. That 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they're beautiful in spiritual form too. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 All we need to do is believe in them, to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 love them, and to tell them that they're 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 important and they'll start feeling 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 good about themselves. I'm proud of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 them. How do you feel about 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the future of the language in these 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 next generations to come? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 We have to believe in ourselves to be able 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to do it, and we need to set our goal and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 if it revitalizes the language then lets 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 do that. How do we learn Cree? We learned 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 it sitting around with the old people 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 visiting eachother and our parents 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 speaking to us, you know? So, we can get 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 it back. They 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 understood their environment. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They understood that everything was alive, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and your spirtit has a connection to that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 spirit of mother earth, and everything 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that grows on her body. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Prior to contact, everything that was 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 described in a more spiritual way. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 You know, had a spiritual meaning. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 (((((((((Time- 10:31)))))))
