Hey guys, it's Mikey Chen.
Whenever the word "psychic" is mentioned,
most people would probably think of crystal balls
or random fortune tellers
they pass by on the streets.
Although in my opinion, I think that
most if not all these psychics are fake,
I do believe that psychic
powers itself could really exist.
Even scientists are
conducting research in this field.
For example, last year, in a
study conducted by researchers
from Starlab and Harvard Medical School,
a person in India said 'ola' and 'ciao'
to three other people in France.
The greetings were not
spoken, typed or texted.
The communication in question happened
between the brains of a set of study subjects,
marking this one of the first instances
of brain-to-brain communication on record.
Of course, in this case, telepathy is just one of
many psychic abilities that people may possess.
And in this video, we will
explore a few more
and I'll introduce you
to some real life individuals
who may actually possess
real psychic powers.
Number 1: the
5-year-old mind reader.
Five-year-old Ramses Sanguino is special.
Not only is he learning seven languages and
solving complex maths problems at this young age,
he is able to say with unerring
accuracy which random numbers
his mom Nyx is looking at
and thinking about.
Ramses is believed to be one
of the top five savants in the world
and is working with former Harvard
Medical School faculty Dr. Diane Powell,
who is studying Ramses as part
a research project into telepathy.
Dr. Powell said, "I am as
confident that telepathy exists
as I am a lot of things that have
actually been accepted by science."
She also said that, other scientists
don't usually believe in telepathy.
but she has met
with many who said
they have actually experienced it
or witnessed it themselves.
and "don't come forward"
because they are afraid that
they would be ridiculed or
possibly even lose their jobs.
Ramses, who is described as having
a high functioning form of autism,
has apparently demonstrating telepathy
in home videos recorded by his mother.
In meetings with Dr. Powell, she
used a random-number generator
to pick numbers for the mother
to write and think about
and get Ramses to try and read
his mother's mind to guess them.
In one test, Ramses was
able to correctly guess
16 out of 17 numbers -
including one double digit number.
Next, Pyrokinesis is the ability to create
and manipulate fire with one's mind
and probably the most famous
pop culture adaptation
of this psychic ability is
Stephen King's Carrie.
Well, this ability might actually be real
so, if you ever meet
or eventually down the road happened to take
one of the next two girls on this list to the prom,
just remember to be nice to them!
And with that, let's talk about number 2
on our list, the 11-year-old firestarter.
In the spring of 2012 in Vietnam,
news spread of an 11-year-old “fire girl”
in Ho Chi Minh City’s Tân Bình District
whose supernatural abilities
have scientists puzzled.
According to the girl’s father,
fires appear whenever she goes.
The electricity in their
home short-circuited,
and many electrical sockets in the house
started to burn when the girl approached them.
Mattresses, fans, and other items in their home
will mysteriously burst into flame as well.
Sometimes, even
her clothing will catch fire.
She even burned the entire
third floor of the family's house.
The same phenomenon happened when
the family visited the homes of others.
A fire even started in their hotel room
when they were vacationing,
Doctors at the local Cho Ray Hospital and No. 2
Children’s Hospital have examined the girl.
Blood, skin, and urine, as
well as objects from her home
but could find nothing
physically unusual about the girl.
But they do agree that
she is in fact different.
A group of researchers
from various fields,
led by Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung,
Director of Ho Chi Minh City
International University of Hong Bang,
rejected environment as the element
causing the girl’s special ability
because fires happened
everywhere she went.
And theorize that the girl’s biological energy
is not stable and fluctuates from time to time.
Hung conducted brain scans and uncovered
an unusual line on the right side of the girl's brain.
He also said there is a
red mark on her forehead
that disappears when she
puts on a black quartz bracelet
and reappears when
the bracelet is removed.
However, whenever the girl
wears the bracelet,
she not only feels uncomfortable, but also feels
electric current running through her body.
Hung also said, the girl is able to
burn objects both near and far from her
with no apparent distance limit,
so kind of like a fire sniper.
Researchers at the Viet Nam Physics
Institute are also studying the case.
The girl is escorted to
school and other places.
Her home and school have been
equipped with fire extinguishers, just in case.
Number 3: the three-year-old
who can manipulate fire.
In March of 2011, news of a 3-year-old
child who can produce fire with her mind
drew hundreds of
curious people and media
to her home in Antique Province
in central Philippines.
Those who were there swore they saw clothes,
sleeping mats, pillows and paper ignites
immediately after the girl said they would.
Mayor Molina of San Jose was one of
hundreds who witnessed this phenomenon.
He says he saw a pillow burst into flames
immediately after the child said “fire... pillow."
He also said that once he was in the girl's home,
when she blurted out "something about to burn",
a shirt on the clothesline outside
inexplicably burst into flames.
Molina said: "Nobody touched
it or was even close to it.
It just started in seconds.
The shirt was on fire.”
Mayor Molina was also quoted in an interview with
The Daily Guardian, a local community newspaper
as saying “I can’t explain it!
I’m a town mayor, and I don’t easily
believe in this kind of thing,
but I saw it. I am at a loss.”
Number 4: the telepathic girl.
Being autistic, Nandana Unnikrishnan
is not like most other girls her age.
And, what really sets her apart
is her alleged telepathic ability.
Nandana’s parents first
became aware of her abilities
when they began to notice
“unusual coincidences”
when it came to her almost premeditated
responses to her mother’s thoughts and feelings.
Such as, the name of the food her mother
was thinking of preparing for her
and she would know about
and starts reacting to places
her parents decided to take
her but has not told her yet.
According to initial testing, it appears
that Nandana has the ability
to read her mother's thoughts and
emotions with no physical contact.
And in one test, Nandana and her mother
were placed in separate rooms
and Nandana's mother was given
a 6 digit number to glance at.
When Nandana was able to
type the number with ease,
the researchers decided to up the ante, and
gave her mother a Grade 2 level poem to read.
When prompted, the young girl was able to
type the entire poem without any issues.
The results have stunned
skeptical researchers
like Dr. Phillip John of the
Indian Psychiatric Society,
who told the Khaleej Times that he
believes Nandana’s case is genuine.
The case has even attracted the
attention of Dr. Darold A. Treffert,
whose work in the
field of gifted children
has earned him the reputation
of “godfather of savant research”.
And yes! I believe he is currently
trying to assemble a team of X-Men!
Anyway, doctor Treffert told
the Khaleej Times that
"Nandana’s case is extraordinarily
rare in an already rare condition,
but with far-reaching ramifications."
And finally, number 5:
the 8-year-old healer.
Faith healing is another psychic ability
and in the slums of Brazil,
8-year-old Alani Santos
claims to be able to channel divine
powers in order to perform faith healing.
Healing everything from cancer to HIV.
In her YouTube videos, Alani
can be seen in her father's church
helping an elderly woman
to walk without using a stick,
and 'healing' a man who has been
suffering from HIV for seven years.
Twice a week, people from across
Brazil file into the church
for a chance to be touched
by the girl's healing hands.
Alani has been doing this since 2012, and
says she enjoys helping people get better
and plans on being a doctor
to continue helping the sick.
Describing her 'powers', Alani says:
"A lot of the time I just touch people, sometimes
I pray and worship and the person is cured."
You know, there are many
Eastern belief systems
that say we all have the so-called psychic
abilities as they were part of our innate abilities.
For example, mother sometimes
experience ugly premonitions
when something unfortunate
has or will happen to their child.
And long before caller IDs, many
people claim to be able to predict
which friend or family member was calling
them when they heard the phone ring.
There is also the belief that it's
because we are so reliant on technology
that these innate abilities of ours
became buried deep within us.
So maybe there was a time where our
world was like the World of Warcraft
where magic and supernatural
abilities were commonplace.
Let me know your thoughts
about the psychic abilities.
Do you believe they are real? Do you
believe they are fake? Do you have them?
Let me know in the comments below.
Thank you all so much
for watching! See you later.
