Today we are going to talk about a basic mechanism that
our brain has and that affects our lives.
Our brain tends to be negative.
Thanks to that, humans have survived for
thousands of years.
What does our brain do? it naturally
goes for the negative and
looks for any type of threat it can find and
starts looking for
any dangerous situation that may occur.
It's worried for all the bad things that could
happen to us
Our brain is truly a survival machine.
Psychologist Rick Hanson says:
"The brain is like Velcro for negative experiences,
but Teflon for positive ones".
This explains why it's so easy for us to find
negativity before positivity and
why we give too much attention and room to
fear and concern.
Studies suggest that if you say one negative thing
to your couple,
you'll need to say 5 positive things to
counter the negative effect.
Our brain works for our survival.
To get us through the day. It is not
prepared and it is not meant to care
for our happiness.
That is up to us.
If we both do our jobs right, we will not
only get through the day alive,
but happy as well.
