Hello!
Justin here.
Today we're going to be reviewing and
looking at the Keely Modified Vox Wah Wah.
It's got things poking out all over
it's probably the most comprehensively
shape of a Wah Wah that I've ever had
There are lots of little switches
and stuff on it that make it
sound really really different.
Very very very cool Wah pedal.
Um this one's actually mine for a change.
Most of the one's I've reviewed haven't
been mine. But uh, this is a pretty fine
sounding Wah Wah, so
let's have a close up
and look at what all
of these knobs and switches do.
Okay, here's the Keeley
Modified Vox Wah Wah pedal.
Pretty standard
kind of Vox shell, if you like, but
it's got lots of other features.
We've got here a little bass switch
which could flick between three
different types of bass response that
you'll hear in the demo.
Note that the little label on here is
just something I've stuck on.
The original just has the switches.
But I put it on there 'cuz
I'm a bit dopey and I forget
what things are controlling what.
We've also got a mid-control.
Which is like a port here which
controls the amount of middle sound
that gets swept by the Wah Wah.
We've also got two modes for this pedal.
Which is a little switch on the top between
'mellow' and 'funk'.
That adds quite a difference to the sound
of the pedal as you'll hear
in the demo that's coming up.
It's also has just on the bottom
corner there a little blue LED
which the original Voxs don't,
just a little
ON switch for you to know that
it's working and it's all sounding cool.
Most excellent Wah Wah pedal
Really versatile, like it a lot.
Think I like the Boudoir slightly better
for the tone but this is because
of its versatility, this is a really
cool pedal too.
Okay! Go check out me fiddling about
with it now.
Okay [starts playing]
Okay, pedal on. So here we go
testing the variable rate
[test strumming]
[playing a fast bouncy tune]
[slower, more "wobbly" tune]
Okay now I'm gonna switch
it over to"funk".
[test strumming]
Just give it less range
[test strumming]
[fast, bouncy tune]
[speeds up, playing fast]
Try turning the mid controller
now to halfway
[fast, bouncy tune]
We'll try these bass boosts
[test strumming]
Now the bass setting
[test strumming]
I think I preferred the front one
[fast bouncy test strumming]
[slower test strumming]
Okay now putting it back to "mellow".
[test strumming into tune]
