9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 dd occasion that I do remember my dreams,[br]0:11[br]quite often I have a dream where I'm back in space.[br]0:20[br]I'm floating down one of the very long Mir modules[br]0:24[br]I'll be going past at this nice, slow rate.[br]0:29[br]Really sedate. And then there's a window approaching,[br]0:37[br]and as I look out and see the earth, with some blue sea and brilliant white clouds,[br]0:46[br]and the curvature of the earth, my eyes are used to the bright lights inside[br]0:49[br]the space station so I don't see the stars[br]0:51[br]it just looks black on top. Then, floating the opposite direction, coming[br]0:55[br]to join me is first Sergei, and then my other crewmates[br]0:58[br]who were up there. We just stay around this window.[br]1:02[br]Together, we don't say anything in my dream, we're just there. I can hear them breathing,[br]1:08[br]and I can feel their warmth because we're really quite close to each other,[br]1:11[br]and we're all just looking out of the window.[br]1:22[br]Everybody talks about how beautiful the earth looks.[br]1:26[br]I always felt in a strange way at once disconnected[br]1:33[br]and connected to the earth, because I really didn't feel[br]1:36[br]like I was part of it anymore. I was looking back at the earth.[br]1:41[br]And yet, I knew that was my home. That was where I wanted to return.[br]1:48[br]I absolutely wanted to go back.[br]1:57[br]Astronauts just look out and see the physical geography.[br]1:59[br]We talk about the countries that we can see,[br]2:01[br]and of course you're seeing them in different orientations.[br]2:04[br]Then, after a day or two, you stop talking about that,[br]2:09[br]and you start to talk about the things that you're missing on earth.[br]2:13[br]It's all to do with the people you remember back on earth.[br]2:16[br]Our families, our friends, and when we go over countries[br]2:20[br]we don't think about the geography below us, we think about the people that are there,[br]2:25[br]and hopefully future meetings with them.[br]2:30[br]How does that dream end?[br]2:33[br]Usually I gently wake up, and I'm always very disappointed[br]2:37[br]because I wanted to be back in spa 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000
