(panting)
(screams)
Louis: Alright Loretta.
Mom: Ha, mom. I'm not doing this unless
you call me mom.
Louis: Alright then, mom. I've been grounded
for like a week now, so how long am I going
to remain grounded?
Mom: Until you come to your senses.
Louis: What do you mean by that?
Mom: You know what I mean. I mean this
isn't funny any more. I'm worried about
you. Your skipping school, staying out
all night.
Louis: What do you expect from a werewolf?
Mom: It's time to grow up Louis. These actions
have consequences. Bad ones that will affect
the rest of your life.
Mom: Louis, stop trying to be like your father.
If your father were here he would tell you the
same thing.
Louis: But he's not.
Mom: No, he's not. And he probably never
will be. And I'm sorry about that. Louis you
need to know that it has nothing to do with
you. It's not your fault-
Louis: I know! I know, it's his condition.
Mom: Well, in a way yes.
Louis: Lycanthropy.
Mom: No, Louis, stop. This isn't funny or
cute any more.
Louis: He didn't want to hurt me, so he left.
Mom: Louis your dad is not a werewolf,
would you get that out of your head?
Louis: Yes he is, alright? You said so yourself.
You said he was afraid of hurting me, so he went away.
Mom: Yes, I did say that but-
Louis: So explain to me why a human dad would
be so afraid of hurting his own son that he
would want to leave forever.
(swallows hard)
Mom: I can't explain that.
Louis: Exactly. And explain this: the moon
was full that night.
Mom: What night?
Louis: The night he probably left. Look,
I calculated it.
Mom: Louis, the moon is full every 28 days.
Louis: Alright, but then how do you explain
his hair? I mean, look at him.
Mom: Louis, I know what your father looks
like.
Louis: Then you know about his hair. What else
would explain that?
Mom: Louis. Listen to yourself. It's just a
story. I don't know if he told you, or if you
made it up to make yourself feel better when
you were little, but it's just a story. You need
to let it go. You hear me?
Mom: OK. I didn't want to do this but,
if you really want to be like your father,
fine. It's time.
Louis: Time for what?
Mom: To meet your uncle Lincoln. Remember
your dad's twin brother?
(numbers dialing)
Louis: No.
Mom: Well, it's probably because he's been
in a psychiatric prison for most of your life.
Hopefully he's out on parole.
Lincoln? It's Loretta. I need your help.
I need you to come over here and talk
to Louis Jr.
