My iPhone 16 Plus has arrived.
This is a bigger version
of the iPhone 16.
And I have here
is the white variant.
We've bought this
from Beyond the Box.
And at the end of this video,
you'll find out
if this iPhone 16 Plus
is worth it to buy
or you should go
for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max.
So let's start.
(introduction music)
This iPhone 16 Plus
that has 128GB of storage
would come at a price point
of Php62,000.
Its 256GB variant
would come at a price point
of Php69,000.
And its 512GB would come
at a price of Php81,000.
I've bought this
from Beyond the Box.
I'll post the link
on the description box below.
First things first,
what I like about it
is that its back
is matte finish.
And I love the feel here.
Probably one
of the good things here
is that it's smudge-free.
You won't find
any fingerprints here,
except if your fingers
are dirty,
you'll see it here
especially since we have
the color white.
This iPhone 16 Plus
comes in five colors:
black, white, ultramarine,
pink, and teal.
What's your favorite color?
Let me know in the comments.
One thing I noticed on the sides
is that it feels great
to hold it.
And I feel really good
when I'm holding this phone,
it has kind of a grip
on the side
so it gives me a good feel
on this phone.
What I like here
is that its bezels
are symmetrical
all throughout the phone
and the notch is here.
If you're coming
from the iPhone 15 series,
you'll see that the orientation
of the camera module
has changed.
It's not slanted anymore.
It's straight this time around.
It's like changed back
to the old one.
And you'll also notice
there's an additional button here
which is the camera control button
which we'll discuss
a little bit further later.
This iPhone 16 Plus comes
with an Apple A18 chip
which is a 3nm chip.
When I tried testing it
on AnTuTu Benchmark,
it got 1.56 million points
which is quite not bad.
This is the result that we got
on the 3DMark Steel Nomad Lite.
And it has a 4,000 loop score
on Wild Life Extreme
with a 71% stability
on Wild Life Extreme.
This is the score that we got
on Geekbench
CPU benchmarking.
And this is the one
on the GPU benchmarking.
The scores that we got here
are quite impressive.
This phone comes running
on IOS 18
and you can upgrade it
to IOS 18.1
which is the current version.
What's the difference?
I noticed on its photos,
the menu on the bottom
becomes many.
It's kind of confusing in a way
if you're not used to it
because if you're upgrading
from the IOS 17 to 18,
you'll really be confused.
Can you see this button
on the bottom,
customize and restore?
You can customize
and remove things
that you don't want here
to make it more simpler,
much like IOS 17.
You just really need
to change it up a bit
so you can organize it properly.
One improvement here
is definitely its battery.
It now has a 4,674mAh
of battery
which is sometimes puzzling.
iPhone doesn't want
to fully make it 5,000mAh
so it'll be an industry standard.
And this one supports PD 2.0
which is roughly 25W charging,
25W wireless charging,
15W Qi2 wireless charging,
and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
Like always, you won't get
a charging brick
so one of my recommended
is definitely the Anker.
This is a 25W charging brick
from Anker
which they call it
the Anker 312 charger.
It is very fast for iPhones.
The Anker brand
is very reliable
so I trust nothing
but the best.
Link on the description.
Now guys, if you'll ask me
if the iPhone 16 Plus
can last on a day-to-day basis,
honestly, it can last
one whole day as long
as no heavy usage.
I used it normally
for one whole day.
It can last it.
Maybe at the end of the day,
there's still 20% left.
It's kind of battery hungry
but it's manageable
as long as you don't do
heavy gaming
or video taking all day long,
for sure it'll be drained.
One of the things
that I really like on Apple devices
is their display.
This one has a 6.7-inch
Super Retina XDR OLED display,
supporting HDR 10,
Dolby Vision,
and it has a maximum brightness
of 2,000 nits.
It's being protected
by Ceramic Shield Glass 2024
which is definitely scratch resistant
up to a certain level.
One of my favorite things
to do here is browsing
through social media,
like Facebook, TikTok,
Twitter, Instagram,
it can handle those.
It's very smooth
on every single swipe.
And probably one
of the best experience
while browsing
through social media
is definitely on the iPhone.
Why? Because it always
loads HD content for you.
Unlike on Android
where most of the time
it's compressed.
If you watch
your favorite shows
on Netflix, YouTube,
expect a really good experience
because its display is very good,
the black is rich,
and of course,
the details are very sharp
when you're watching
your favorite shows here.
Now we know this phone
has stereo speakers.
I just want to test,
let's listen to how good
its sound is.
(APT by ROSÉ & Bruno Mars)
I would say that it's great
to sound trip here.
If you're putting the loudspeaker
to the maximum,
this is a winner.
Listening to Spotify,
playing your favorite game,
and watching your favorite movie,
it's good.
I was able to play
three games here,
Farlight 84, Genshin Impact,
and Call of Duty Mobile.
On Farlight 84,
expect a really good
gaming experience here.
I was able to set
to all high settings
and the gameplay
was quite good.
And honestly,
probably one of the best phones
to play the Farlight 84
is definitely on the iPhone
because its graphics are good,
the gameplay is good,
its controls are great,
its sounds are great,
and you won't have
any problem.
Except one thing.
After 30 minutes of gameplay,
it's hot at 50°C.
Moving on to Genshin Impact,
probably another phone
that greatly handles
Genshin Impact is an iPhone.
I was able to set
to 120 FPS on this phone
and it gave me a really good
satisfying experience.
Playing for 30 minutes
on this game,
when were fighting bosses,
on some other phones
even on flagship level,
there are some skips or lags
that you'll feel, but here,
there's almost zero lags.
I didn't feel any lags here.
Except another thing,
it's also hot at around 51°C.
So I would recommend you
to buy a cooler.
On Call of Duty Mobile,
you can also set it
to all high settings,
both max.
And the gameplay
is definitely smooth.
You won't feel any lags,
its gameplay is so great.
It's so snappy.
The sounds are also great
coming from the left
and right speaker.
Expect to give you
a good gaming experience.
And after 30 minutes,
its maximum heat is 45°C.
Let's talk about the camera
on the back.
48MP main camera sensor
with sensor-shift OIS.
12MP ultra wide lens
with 120° FoV.
Can let you shoot
up to 4K and 60 FPS.
The front-facing camera
is a 12MP with PDAF.
It also acts as a depth
and biometric sensor.
It can also shoot
up to 4K and 60 FPS.
Now guys, I'll show you quickly
how to use
its camera control button.
One of the things
that I don't like about it
is that when we're holding it
like this,
the button is kind of far
from my finger.
If you want to use this button,
you normally need
to hold it like this
just to take a photo
which is very unusual.
I like to hold it like
this better.
The button should
have been here,
like the shoulder triggers
of REDMAGIC
so that you can easily snap
very easily.
Unlike here, it's kind of far,
my finger can't reach it.
Except if your finger is longer,
maybe you'll reach it.
But the shutter button
is kind of far for me.
There's a lot of things
that you can do here.
Basically if you want
to call your camera,
which I set to double press
so I won't accidentally press
and open my camera.
So double press to activate
my camera.
If you activate it,
this would be the last menu.
What I set here is
its zooming capability.
You can use it like this
or what others do
is light press, two press,
you'll see all
of the different functions.
Like you can adjust the depth,
the exposure,
or you can use the zoom,
then cameras,
its different lenses
like ultra wide and zoom lens,
styles, and you can
also use tone.
For me, the best feature
to use is either the depth
or zoom.
On cameras,
I don't think it's very useful
but I feel that
it's better on zoom,
zooming like this,
rather than pinching.
Probably that's
the most useful for me.
What about you guys?
Let me know what you think.
Now guys, let's talk
about some of the shots
that we got
on my iPhone 16 Plus.
One of the things
that's great here is that
it snaps fast,
it focuses fast.
It was able to capture
some really nice
stunning photos outdoors.
As long as your lighting
on outdoors is good,
you won't have
any problems here
on the iPhone 16 Plus.
Taking some photos
of the flowers
and taking some photos
of the greens,
expect some really good shots.
On indoor condition,
I was able to gather
some of this really nice snaps
that we got.
And really I would say
that the quality is really different
when it comes to iPhone.
It was able to give me
some really nice snaps.
You'll see that the photos
are really sharp,
rich in details.
That's something
that you'll love in iPhones.
I was able to capture
some of these Korean snacks.
I think this is fish cake.
And the food shots
that I got here are great.
And capturing
some stuffed dolls
like Labubu, expect it
to be also really good.
Even signages, it's also good.
As well as some of these shots,
very simple
but you'll really notice
that it's beautiful.
If you focus
on lighted signage,
you'll see that it's okay,
the shot is great,
the colors aren't overexposed
which is good.
And we've captured
some Christmas tree shots,
expect that the shots
that we got would be great.
When I played
with its ultra wide lens,
this is how it looks like.
This is a normal shot
and this is a 2x zoom shot.
When you zoom it in,
you'll know that
they're selling jewelries.
At dawn, I was able
to take some of these snaps
on outdoors on lowlight
and it was good.
This is an ultra wide shot,
this is a normal,
and this is a 2x zoom shot.
This cell site is very clear
after 2x zooming.
On night shot,
you expect to get
some really good snaps
on iPhone 16 Plus.
And when I was strolling around
taking some quick snaps here,
expect that the photos
are bright and good,
iPhone really enhances
your shots during nighttime.
I'm really happy
with my snaps here.
Using the front-facing camera,
it was able to get me
some really nice,
good shots here.
Expect that when it comes
to iPhone,
it'll give you a natural tone.
And it's a little bit more
of a warmer tone
as compared
to Android smartphones
that have a brighter approach.
But overall, the snaps
are quite good.
Taking this video
on outdoors while walking,
it's almost nighttime,
I would say
that its video is very stable
and the quality is great.
Equally said on rear camera
while nearing nighttime.
It's very stable while walking.
And taking a 4K video,
I would say that
it's very smooth
even if you don't have
a gimbal on the iPhone 16 Plus.
Now guys, what can I say
about the new iPhone 16 Plus.
Honestly, its performance
is great.
Probably even if you don't buy
the Pro and Pro Max level,
its performance
is already great.
This is probably
a little bit more of a nerf
or carried over
from the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
And some of the features
that the 15 Pro Max are put here.
Like this action button
on the side
which is customizable.
You can use it
as a silent button
or other functions
that you can set
on its settings.
It's useful for some people
and it's useless
for some people.
There are mixed reviews
on its camera control button.
For me, I find it
a little bit useless
because how I hold it
is like this when I shoot
and it's kind of far
from my index finger
if I'm going to use it
as a shutter button.
So I'll really reach out
for it which is kind
of inconvenient.
I'd prefer it to be
somewhere here
like shoulder triggers
like REDMAGIC gaming phones.
But having it here,
it's a little bit far.
The only thing I find useful
is its zooming
which is definitely useful
because it's more sensitive
rather than pinching it
on the screen.
Overall, the form factor
is good,
I have no problem with it.
Its battery life
is just average,
not the best from an iPhone.
They said that the battery life
of the iPhone 16 Pro Max
is better.
So guys, don't forget
to subscribe to my channel
so that once I upload
an iPhone 16 Pro Max review,
you'll be notified.
So what do you think
about this guys?
Would you buy
the iPhone 16 Plus?
Would you upgrade
from the iPhone 16 Plus
if you're coming
from the iPhone 12, 13?
I would say it's a good upgrade.
But if you're coming
from the iPhone 15 or 15 Plus,
I would say you keep
your iPhone 15 Plus.
You should probably wait
for the 17 series
before you upgrade.
Now guys, if you want
to know where I bought this,
I bought it
from Beyond the Box.
I'll be posting the link
on the description box below.
