Bonifacy's holidays story by Milos Macourek Once upon a time in a circus there were a lion called Bonifacy. He was very obedient and there re no need to ask him anything twice Everyone loved Bonifacy and even the head used to say Bonifacy is remarkably talented The head often took Bofifacy for a walk and bought him bananas Bonifacy terribly adored bananas Once Bonifacy asked Why there' re so many kids on the street Why aint they at school? The head replied: Why do they need to be at school? It is summer and they are having holidays Holidays? - said Bonifacy - I ve never had any holidays :( - Where on earth would you go Bonifacy? - To my grandmother of course. It is clear! Hm I forgot that lions also have grannies - thought to himself the head. - Alright, you re an exemplery lion and I'll give you days off Bonifacy almost went mad with joy. He did not expect anything like that What can be better than holidays? He immediately dashed to pack and buy a ticket to Africa and of course a gift for his granny! En route Bonifacy did not close his eyes He was afraid to miss his stop He came across a great deal of wonderful fishes that he s never seen before He thought: What a nice thing a holiday is! He dreamed about sunbathing laying on the sand, eating bananas and swimming in the lake Suddenly the ship stopped and Bonifacy was at home! Everything was as it used to be: the house, the garden and even the granny was as usual sitting in her chair Like years ago Bonifacy quietly sneared up to her and she as usual did not recognize him! In the morning Bonifacy put on his new bathing suit - Oh - told the granny - you r so handsome in this suit! And the happy lion set off to the lake He came across a little girl When she saw a strange lion she got scared off - What an odd girl - thought Bonifacy. Probably she s never been to a circus - Take it:) On that day Bonifacy did not have an opportunity to catch the fish On the next day he again set off to the lake Bonifacy showed the kids different tricks Not a single other lion could make anything like that Kids ve never seen any tricks like that and the day flew by.. So flew by another day.. And then other days either.. From dawn til the evening Bonifacy performed for the kids He forgot about bananas, swimming and even about the fish The kids were applauding and shouting - MORE MORE! And suddenly the holiday was over Ship was sailing away further and further The granny was getting smaller and smaller and Bonifacy thought to himself What a wonderful thing is the holiday !
