Hey there! I'm Smruti, a product manager at Freshdesk
and in this video, I'm going to walk you through how to set up a new Live Chat feature.
With this, you'll be able to engage more deeply with your website and app visitors
and provide them with real-time support.
In your Helpdesk admin, you will see a Freshchat icon that you can click
to take you to Chat Settings.
Here, you can customize your chat window,
set your default messages,
get your installation code, and so on.
In the first section, you can change your chat window's look and location on your web page.
You can choose your window color from a palette or type in the color of your choice.
I'm going to go ahead and do just that
and as you can see from the preview right next to it,
I've chosen a brick-red color to go with my website.
You can choose the position of the chat window
and an offset from the corner of the screen.
I'm going to leave these two settings as they are and move on to the next section.
Here, you can set the default messages you want your visitors to see
when you begin your chat, when you end your chat,
your chat headers, and so on.
We have place-holders set
but you can have your own customized messages.
For example, if you are in E-Commerce business,
you can welcome your visitors by say,
asking them what they are looking for today.
(types)
I'm going to change a couple more of these
(typing)
This would be my header when my chat window is active
(typing)
and this would be my thank you message.
Next, we move onto the pre-chat form.
Checking this will allow you to obtain more information from your visitors,
even before you begin your chat.
If you want to go a step further
and would like to recognize your customers
who are already logged in to your app or website,
and pass that information to Freshchat,
you can do so by using a login API
that's available in the Chat Solution articles.
You can also proactively initiate conversations with your visitors
when they spend more than a certain amount of time on a particular page.
I'm going to have these two unchecked for now
and save my chat settings.
Here you go!
You have your chat code snippet updated with all your customized settings.
You can then paste this on your website
and voilĂ : you have your live chat set up.
Your visitors can now chat with you
and you can start supporting them in real time.
If you have any questions or comments,
please email us at support@freshdesk.com
or come to our website and start chatting with us.
Thank you.
