Hello! Namaste My name is Meghna. Most welcome to my channel And today I'm sitting in the Indraprastha Park I read a beautiful book Which I'm going to tell you about. The book we are discussing today is Geetansh Thakur’s "Veerta or Balidaan". As the title and book cover convey, The book is written in patriotic theme. Our India got its independence in 1947 But how it got it How many sacrifices were made behind it How many heroes shed their blood for the country That's the story in this book by Geetansh Thakur "Veerta or Balidaan" The story is about Phoolma and Kishan. Kishan, who has two brothers and one sister. his widowed mother, They all are living in poverty One day Kishan finds out that the Britishers tend to stop his work replace the work with machines. He now worries about his income, family and how he'll raise his siblings. So he thinks about joining the Army. After joining the Army, working for British made him feel guilty and in a way he was harming his own country's citizens. He thinks that I'm beating & hurting them "What kind of independence it is! What kind of work am I pursuing! But time goes on…. And his younger brother joins India independence movement And show his bravery by protesting against Britishers. Seeing this, Kishan felt empowered and vowed to never work for Britishers. He left the Army and became part of the independence movement. The love interest of Kishan is also portrayed in this story, where Phoolma is his lover. He loves her. How their love grows with time. Phoolma tries to convince him that he should go and join the Army and work for the country So this is about the short, beautiful story of this book. Talking about the writing skills, The writer Geetansh used short sentences and has tried to use simple language for the readers. At some places, there is a spelling mistakes which I can understand since it is his first book There are so many writers like Geetansh Thakur who want to communicate their thoughts to the world. They want to say so many things but do not find their way. This is a self-published book of Geetansh. Writers can opt a way of self-publishing their book to communicate their thoughts and opinions to the readers like you and me. The speciality about this book is, When you read this book, you will get to know the situations and environment of the time when India was on its way to independence. Like when Gandhiji reached India, how did he influence the anti-british movement, When Bhagat singh stood against the British and became the inspiration for the youth, how did it all affect Kishan These are the many types of imagery that has been shown in the book. On the other hand, the relationship between Phoolma and Kishan is portrayed…. When he returns from his military training, He bought for Phoolma and tried to put it on to her. But Phoolma doesn't accept it, It's really a beautiful scene which is portrayed He says I really love you and brought it for you. But she says I will accept it on the day we will get married. There are many small instances like this that Geetansh has included in the story. Some instances feel so real while reading it almost feels like you are a part of it. Or u r present there. Like when Kishan’s mother Meera goes to Shobharam’s house to ask a hand of his daughter for her son, that' s a very good scenario, Or when Meera narrates her own story of how she participated in the protest movements against the British, Like in what ways she sacrificed, Like how she was married to Dharamveer. All these small stories in this book make it worth-reading.
