Update your account recovery information

Start from the Yahoo home page

Click your name

Or start from another Yahoo page

Click the gear icon

Select Account Info

You may be asked to re-enter your password

If so, type your current password and click Sign In

Now you're on your account page

Click Account security

Your account should include one or more mobile phone numbers so we can send you a text message if you need help

Click here to add or delete a phone number

Delete this number if it's obsolete

Click here to add a new number

Choose the country code for your mobile phone

Enter the phone number

Choose to have a verification code sent to you as text or by voice

When you receive the verification code, enter it here

Click Verify

We can also send password reset information to one or more alternate email addresses

Click here to add or delete email addresses

These should be non-Yahoo addresses where you can receive messages if you can't access your Yahoo Mail account

Delete any obsolete email addresses

Click here to add an email address

Enter the email address

Click here to have Yahoo send a verification message to this email address

Follow the instructions in the email message that Yahoo sends you to verify this address
