May 21, 2011 - Aysegul Dastan tells her incredible life story from being the first girl to attend middle school in her village in Turkey to coming to Stanford to pursue her Ph.D. In her village where an elementary school education was the expected path for girls, Dastan graduated from Stanford with MS and PhD degrees in petroleum engineering.
