Headaches during meditation

Yeah…

This is called “samādhi headache”.
There are two reasons for that.

Mostly it's because
you're trying too hard.

Relax, for goodness sake!

Go to sleep, have a rest, do a
walking meditation, but don't try so hard.

Number two is: it could be
that you're doing the breath meditation.

And I had to take my
glasses off to give you the demonstration.

Because when you do
breath meditation, most times people are…

you focus on the tip of your nose.

I don't know where that came from,

that stupid
instructions, don't follow that.

Because what happens
if you watch the tip of the nose.

You got your eyes closed
but I'm keeping my eyes open,

what you actually do – when
your mind watches the tip of the nose

so do your eyes
as well and you go like this…

And that will give anyone a
headache after five minutes!

So if people are doing breath meditation,

if you could peel their eyelids up,

you’d see they're cross-eyed.

It's just the nature.

Because whatever your mind watches,
actually your eyes tend to watch as well.

So that's the problem there.

So it could be because you're
doing the breath on the tip of the nose

and it causes
your headaches, that's very common,

or it's just because
you're trying too hard.
