DreamRoad: Япония 1. Первый день в Токио. [4K] [ENG CC]

  • 0:01 - 0:04
Our journey wouldn’t have been so intense
without Support from our partner VMP-Auto.
  • 0:04 - 0:07
They’ve added Something new to their
vast line of products called “Valera”,
  • 0:07 - 0:09
    a penetrating lubricant
    with unique Properties,
  • 0:09 - 0:14
which effectively breaks down rust and Serves
as a replacement for its various counterparts.
  • 0:14 - 0:16
Fasteners seized up? Valera to the rescue!
  • 0:16 - 0:21
Hi there friends! This series came to mind
when I first realized I wanted to make videos.
  • 0:21 - 0:24
But it took me an excruciating four
    years to make this happen.
  • 0:24 - 0:28
If it wasn’t for VMP-Auto, who I’d like
to thank for backing this little adventure,
  • 0:28 - 0:30
if it wasn’t for Denis Goyman
    who provided his cameras,
  • 0:30 - 0:33
LCM, who lent me their drone,
  • 0:33 - 0:39
and if it wasn’t for the support from our
sponsors – Autospot, Veterok club and 1XBet
  • 0:39 - 0:42
    – this series would’ve never even been produced.
  • 0:43 - 0:46
We were able to make it happen
after all, despite some technical difficulties,
  • 0:46 - 0:48
I mean, I can’t seem to avoid them...
  • 0:48 - 0:51
For example you will be seeing a few
    glitches throughout the first episode,
  • 0:51 - 0:56
due to us losing all our material from day
one and having to restore it afterwards.
  • 0:56 - 0:59
We weren’t able to recover everything, unfortunately.
  • 0:59 - 1:02
This is only relevant when it comes to the first episode,
  • 1:02 - 1:05
footage from episode two will be glitch-free, unlike the sound.
  • 1:05 - 1:08
We have our GoPro 5 to thank for that, since it
doesn’t seem to be compatible with my stabilizer.
  • 1:08 - 1:12
As a result you will be hearing
a droning noise in a few places.
  • 1:12 - 1:17
I’ve been doing my best to remedy this
issue, but I couldn’t get rid of it completely.
  • 1:17 - 1:20
    Anyway, enough about
    our technical difficulties,
  • 1:20 - 1:22
what matters is that we had
a truly awesome and interesting trip.
  • 1:22 - 1:24
Hopefully you’ll enjoy it as much as we did.
  • 1:26 - 1:28
In the words of a certain well-known dude –
  • 1:28 - 1:32
welcome and join us in this journey
    of discovery. Let’s get started!
  • 1:38 - 1:41
    - Hey there guys! You’re watching “head and head”
    - Two heads, yep.
  • 1:41 - 1:46
    - Today we find out how to survive
    in Tokyo with 100 dollars.
    - For the two of us.
  • 1:46 - 1:49
Yep. In truth, our situation is quite different.
  • 1:49 - 1:53
Thankfully, this isn’t “heads or tails”,
    you’ve tuned in to BMIRussian.
  • 1:53 - 1:57
However, we are indeed flying to Tokyo, to find
out what Japanese car culture is all about.
  • 2:09 - 2:13
    - Alright, people, “just” nine hours and we are in Tokyo.
  • 2:13 - 2:17
While we board the “Dreamliner”, aka the Boeing 787,
  • 2:17 - 2:20
I’d like to extend a big thanks to Julia
and other people working for S7 Airlines,
  • 2:20 - 2:23
for getting us good seats and access to the
airport’s business lounge, all for free,
  • 2:23 - 2:26
f course. For anybody who’s interested,
    here’s a short review
  • 2:26 - 2:27
of our flight with Japan Airlines in coach.
  • 2:27 - 2:31
    It isn’t comfortable sleeping, only
because the seats don’t recline far enough,
  • 2:31 - 2:32
    otherwise everything was great.
  • 2:32 - 2:35
    Zero issues with ventilation and
lavatories, food and drinks are top-notch,
  • 2:35 - 2:37
plus they have a variety of
    decent alcoholic beverages,
  • 2:37 - 2:40
a reasonable amount of which is
included in the price of the ticket.
  • 2:40 - 2:44
A nice multimedia system is available,
even offering a choice of films in Russian.
  • 2:44 - 2:46
    Let’s not forget about that
    nifty automatic window tint.
  • 2:46 - 2:48
    Anyway, this long flight wasn’t
    an ordeal by any means.
  • 2:48 - 2:54
After a short night, at 10:00 AM local time
we landed at the Tokyo Narita Airport.
  • 3:03 - 3:05
Ok, comrades, we’ve made it through the last 9 hours,
  • 3:05 - 3:08
and right now me and Victor Mikhailovich,
    together with another traveler
  • 3:08 - 3:11
    who tagged along with us
    in the luggage compartment,
  • 3:11 - 3:13
and who happens to be paying for everything
  • 3:13 - 3:15
    – we’ve all made it to the Narita airport in Japan,
  • 3:15 - 3:17
    now we go through customs,
    hopefully with no issues,
  • 3:18 - 3:21
and after that we end up in Tokyo.
  • 3:28 - 3:32
We spent quite a bit of time at the airport, due to us sorting out our tourist JR passes.
  • 3:32 - 3:34
Anyway, it was too early to go
to the hotel, since registration in
  • 3:34 - 3:37
Japanese hotels begins after about two o’clock in the afternoon.
  • 3:37 - 3:40
We decided to leave or belongings
there and take a short stroll.
  • 3:40 - 3:43
After all, we are staying pretty much in the center of Tokyo, in Shimbashi.
  • 3:46 - 3:50
Ok, so my thoughts after spending
about half an hour in Tokyo.
  • 3:50 - 3:56
First of all, it’s really clean. No bottles
to be seen, no wrappers, no nothing.
  • 3:57 - 3:59
    No cigarette butts either.
  • 3:59 - 4:00
    Since we’re on the subject:
  • 4:00 - 4:03
Japan is a paradise for non-smokers,
  • 4:03 - 4:06
given the fact that smoking on
the streets is prohibited in Japan.
  • 4:07 - 4:10
    Nobody around is smoking.
  • 4:10 - 4:16
There are designated areas for smoking,
    where you can light up.
  • 4:16 - 4:19
Plus you have the curious combination
  • 4:19 - 4:22
of skyscrapers and lots of trees.
  • 4:22 - 4:24
My next impression is that it
    s really quiet around here.
  • 4:24 - 4:28
For some reason traffic is muted
and doesn’t bother you at all.
  • 4:29 - 4:32
Which is cool. I almost forgot to mention –
  • 4:32 - 4:35
    Tokyo even smells different.
  • 4:35 - 4:39
It may sound amusing, but I’m telling you.
  • 4:39 - 4:43
When you go down the smaller streets
    – you pick up a lot of different scents,
  • 4:43 - 4:47
but no exhaust gases or trash among them.
  • 4:47 - 4:49
    - Most importantly you shouldn’t go onto...
  • 4:49 - 4:51
    - Yes, it’s critical not to go onto...
  • 4:51 - 4:53
    - Streets with Chinese cafes.
  • 4:53 - 4:56
    - Yeah, the Chinese cafes. We went
by and they are quite poignant.
  • 4:57 - 5:00
I myself am not a fan of
    Asian food, Chinese especially,
  • 5:01 - 5:05
but... This is just... It’s unbearable.
  • 5:06 - 5:08
As for our meals, in the
    meantime we’re keeping it simple.
  • 5:08 - 5:10
We had a couple of burgers
    at a local fast-food joint,
  • 5:10 - 5:13
while Victor tried out a nice looking but
    almost completely tasteless beverage.
  • 5:13 - 5:16
Then we visited a store to
    grab something to drink...
  • 5:17 - 5:20
\- Check it out, heterosexual tea.
    - Yep.
  • 5:20 - 5:23
    After that we headed on
over to our hotel to check in.
  • 5:24 - 5:27
This is a pretty typical room in
    an average priced Japanese hotel.
  • 5:28 - 5:30
It’s quite cramped, but you get all the amenities.
  • 5:30 - 5:33
    A TV, a fridge, a vault,
  • 5:34 - 5:36
    a pretty large bed,
  • 5:36 - 5:39
over there you have an alarm
clock plus lighting controls, next to the bed.
  • 5:39 - 5:41
Here we have an air conditioner,
  • 5:42 - 5:46
    and the favorite gimmick of
    every tourist visiting Japan –
  • 5:46 - 5:49
    a fully electronic can.
  • 5:49 - 5:51
We’ll figure out how to use the damned thing later.
  • 5:52 - 5:56
A sink, and a pretty substantial shower cabin. Yo!
  • 5:57 - 6:01
We live on the eighth floor. I wanted to open
the window and show you what’s beneath us,
  • 6:01 - 6:04
but you can’t do that. Apparently
    it’s for preventing suicides.
  • 6:04 - 6:07
This is the widest you can open the window.
  • 6:07 - 6:11
That’s pretty much the entire view from up here.
  • 6:12 - 6:17
And now we get on with our
    first proper walk around Tokyo.
  • 6:37 - 6:39
    - Victor Mikhailovich has bought
himself a bunch of weird sh*t.
  • 6:39 - 6:42
    - You aren’t gonna get anything with that attitude.
  • 6:42 - 6:46
    - What the hell is that?
    - From the looks of it, these
    are rice cakes with marmalade.
  • 6:46 - 6:48
    - He’s going to eat it now. Go for it dude.
  • 6:50 - 6:52
    - I ain’t sharing with you.
  • 6:53 - 6:56
    - I thought this was churchkhela,
but it doesn’t look like it.
  • 6:58 - 7:00
    - Well? What do you think?
  • 7:00 - 7:03
    - These are sweet red beans.
  • 7:09 - 7:10
    - You can have it.
  • 7:10 - 7:18
    Right, so basically it’s just
a sweet snack, but it’s pretty doughy. I’m not a fan.
  • 7:18 - 7:21
    - This is actually a rice cake,
so it’s made from rice dough.
  • 7:22 - 7:24
With some red beans on top.
  • 7:25 - 7:28
    - Anyway, so you tried some food,
and I’d like to try a drink.
  • 7:35 - 7:38
    - This is mighty tasty!
  • 7:38 - 7:42
It’s some sort of milk product,
like a milkshake. It’s very similar.
  • 7:42 - 7:43
    - Exactly, you could very much be right.
  • 7:44 - 7:46
    - It’s actually delicious.
  • 7:46 - 7:49
I approve, get some of this.
  • 7:50 - 7:54
So yeah, we’ll be paying pretty close attention
to the strange Local foods and beverages,
  • 7:54 - 7:57
since everything is so unusual in Japan
in this regard when compared to Europe.
  • 7:57 - 8:00
You have no idea what you’re buying
and what you’re going to feel on your tongue.
  • 8:00 - 8:03
Meanwhile we’ve made it to our first attraction.
  • 8:04 - 8:10
    - So our first destination today
s the famous electronic district Akihabara.
  • 8:11 - 8:13
Judging by the amount of people living here...
  • 8:13 - 8:16
It seems like we picked a good place to stay,
since our neighborhood is nice and quiet,
  • 8:16 - 8:19
it’s actually just a couple of subway stations away from here.
  • 8:19 - 8:22
But here there’s quite a bit more people around.
  • 8:23 - 8:25
    Here’s what’s up.
  • 8:31 - 8:34
Akihabara in fact doesn’t consist solely of electronic stores.
  • 8:34 - 8:37
FYI – prices in various spots can vary
almost threefold for the same device.
  • 8:37 - 8:39
So you’ll have to do some searching.
  • 8:39 - 8:41
    There’s also a bunch of
    awesome cars driving around here.
  • 8:41 - 8:44
No, we didn’t go to Roppongi,
    which is the prime location
  • 8:44 - 8:48
when it comes to these things, but nonetheless.
What you see here is just a small fraction.
  • 8:48 - 8:50
Also there is a bunch of anime-themed stores around here.
  • 8:50 - 8:53
    With Japanese girls of
    various degree of attractiveness
  • 8:53 - 8:55
and varied amount of clothing luring you in.
  • 8:55 - 8:57
Some of them look just as a certain song goes –
  • 8:57 - 8:59
mini-skirt with a cut-out in front, and also in the back.
  • 8:59 - 9:03
We decided to visit one of these
stores and do some undercover filming.
  • 9:04 - 9:08
    - Well this is interesting. Some girls up for sale,
  • 9:08 - 9:10
those must be phone numbers at the bottom. Let’s go.
  • 9:11 - 9:14
The “air” naturally escalates as you go upstairs.
  • 9:14 - 9:17
The first floor showcases what can be read by anybody.
  • 9:17 - 9:21
The second floor is a tad more serious, it’s
all about love, romance and stuff like that.
  • 9:21 - 9:25
The third floor contains soft erotica.
We made it to the fourth floor.
  • 9:30 - 9:31
    - What the f**k...
  • 9:32 - 9:34
Yeah, you should definitely buy it.
  • 9:34 - 9:38
Sorry for not really revealing anything, this is
YouTube after all, and children can be watching.
  • 9:38 - 9:40
Believe me when I say it’s pretty hardcore.
  • 9:43 - 9:48
    - The fifth floor’s probably all about
    some brutal sex or something.
  • 9:52 - 9:56
Now this is far out. Titties.
  • 9:56 - 9:58
Yep, this is definitely beyond us.
  • 9:58 - 10:02
After Akihabara we decided to visit
another famous place, right next to the subway.
  • 10:02 - 10:07
    - Victor Mikhailovich is surprising me
with his knowledge of Asian culture. What’s this?
  • 10:07 - 10:13
    - Behind me you can see AKB48,
    it’s a well-known Akihabara band,
  • 10:13 - 10:19
consisting of 48 singers. They also
have a café and a souvenir shop.
  • 10:19 - 10:22
    - Do all 48 of them still perform?
  • 10:22 - 10:25
    Look how many there are...
    - The band actually fell apart...
  • 10:25 - 10:26
    Here’s where Victor is wrong.
  • 10:26 - 10:30
The band is alive and well, and the
amount of participants is just mind-boggling.
  • 10:30 - 10:33
Our very own Mirage, Laskovyi May
and Strelki have nothing on them.
  • 10:33 - 10:36
Google it in your apare time.
Anyway, today’s final destination is known
  • 10:36 - 10:38
    all around the world,
    partly due to Hachiko’s statue.
  • 10:38 - 10:41
However, car nuts know it thanks to this...
  • 10:58 - 11:00
    - Oh sh*t dude, so many people...
  • 11:03 - 11:06
    Right, guys, now we try
    making our way through Shibuya.
  • 11:06 - 11:08
See if it’s any fun or not.
  • 11:13 - 11:15
The square next to Shibuya station,
  • 11:15 - 11:18
which was reconstructed for the third
installment of the “Fast and Furious” franchise,
  • 11:18 - 11:21
is renowned as the world’s busiest
    intersection, and for good reason.
  • 11:21 - 11:24
And it’s Friday evening, so everything
is flashy, noisy, in other words –
  • 11:24 - 11:26
this is Tokyo as everyone imagines it to be.
  • 11:26 - 11:29
We’re probably a bit too tired
to give it a proper assessment.
  • 11:29 - 11:32
    - As quiet as it was in our “hood”,
  • 11:32 - 11:35
as it were, it’s just as noisy here.
  • 11:35 - 11:38
Apparently it’s a lot of fun,
but we’re just a bit tired,
  • 11:38 - 11:42
I mean, we’re pretty sleep deprived, so...
  • 11:42 - 11:45
    Yeah, we’ve checked out Shibuya,
walked around the place a bit,
  • 11:45 - 11:47
and now it’s time to head back to our hotel.
  • 11:47 - 11:51
    Tomorrow we’re going to
Ebisu early in the morning, or “EbIsu”,
  • 11:51 - 11:54
    as mister Kosharnyi calls it.
  • 11:55 - 11:56
    There you have it.
  • 11:56 - 12:00
    #eveninggatheringwithvalera
  • 12:01 - 12:05
    - Victor Mikhailovich is trying to figure
out how to open a Japanese Kettle...
  • 12:10 - 12:15
You’ve almost got it! Yeah, we outwitted the thing.
  • 12:15 - 12:20
(we filled the kettle, but for some reason water is barely pouring out)
  • 12:20 - 12:22
    - Why’s the water barely coming out?
(we filled the kettle, but for some reason water is barely pouring out)
  • 12:22 - 12:22
    - Why’s the water barely coming out?
  • 12:22 - 12:24
    - Maybe it’s so you don’t overfill your cup.
  • 12:25 - 12:29
    - Me and Victor Mikhailovich, being two heterosexual males,
  • 12:29 - 12:35
will be sleeping in the same
bed over the next six nights.
  • 12:35 - 12:37
    - Now I see, Mikhailovich!
  • 12:37 - 12:41
    - Here’s the thing. When you
book a hotel in Europe, for example,
  • 12:41 - 12:45
    it makes no difference –
one big bed or two small ones,
  • 12:46 - 12:50
but that’s not the case in Japan, two separate
beds cost twice as much as one large one.
  • 12:50 - 12:52
We actually got a good discount for this room,
  • 12:52 - 12:57
afterwards we were, like, maybe we
should book one with two single beds?
  • 12:57 - 13:02
We had a look – and even one
    single bed cost somewhere
  • 13:02 - 13:04
around 100 thousand yen as opposed to 50.
  • 13:05 - 13:08
That’s why we’ll be sleeping here,
  • 13:08 - 13:11
being the two straight guys that we are.
  • 13:11 - 13:13
    Now we unpack our food.
  • 13:13 - 13:16
We bought ourselves a bunch of weird sh*t.
  • 13:16 - 13:19
    I got myself some booze,
    and since Victor doesn’t drink...
  • 13:22 - 13:24
    - You’ll be drinking for the both of us.
    - Well, yeah, I mean no.
  • 13:24 - 13:27
I’ll be drinking with the third
    participant of our voyage,
  • 13:27 - 13:30
    who we haven’t even introduced
to you yet. His name is Valera.
  • 13:30 - 13:33
I’m not sure about his sexual orientation, since
  • 13:34 - 13:36
    He... Immediately frees up thread.
  • 13:36 - 13:41
But without him I’m not sure whether
our trip would’ve even been possible.
  • 13:41 - 13:43
    Right, let’s unpack.
  • 13:43 - 13:48
    - C’mon man, you can’t pour tea from a pot or open a cake?
  • 13:48 - 13:49
    What’ve you got there?
  • 13:53 - 13:56
    - Looks like some sort of gingerbread.
    - I’m probably not gonna like it anyway.
  • 14:00 - 14:03
It’s got some kind of doughy filling.
  • 14:04 - 14:05
    What else you got?
  • 14:05 - 14:08
Some people unpack Chinese gadgets from Aliexpress
  • 14:08 - 14:10
like that, while you’ve got some piece of sh*t.
  • 14:10 - 14:13
