031 Frame Rates

All right so now we have frame rates right an incredibly important tool the you can use to change

in control of the aesthetic of your film so we have 24306120 and 240 frames a second so start with 24 this is the gold standard

for basically all films that you see on the big screen because at 24 frames a second your cameras capturing 24 images

back to back per second he gives the film or video this is much more soft and Sir real kind of vibe in kind of a static and the next frame rate is 30 frames a second

this is a much more realistic look you can see it in most broadcast TV a lot of you know TV stations just imagine

what news anchors look like it's kind of this slightly uncomfortable for whatever reason it doesn't have that dream me cinematic quality of 24 frames a second

so TV broadcasts and also home movies are shot at this 30 frames a second rate you can definitely see a difference in the overall look and feel

and next we have 60 frames a second right this is that more plastic you look where since work doubling in going beyond 24 and 30 you're capturing twice

as many frames a second which gives away and lets go of that motion blur look and how's that very kind of ultra realistic kind

of plastic feel not very cinematic but can be used in very very well for the more high speed action need tied Phil all right last but not least

shooting at 120 and 240 frames a second right. I love shooting out these high frame rates because it creates such a dramatic and epic.

Contrast between our normal day to day way of viewing things in the real life day to day you know viewing experience we don't ever get to see things

in slow motion that is why in film and video is such an incredibly powerful tool to Juxtapoz what we would see day to day with all sure

slow epic footage right these are the kind of cinematic things that we can use to create something that really sparks that feeling they were always

looking to create in the viewer so what I've realized is that what creates the most impactful films and videos are using techniques

that you wanted to see a normal day to day life right think about the things they look the best in film when you are filming directly

into the sun and the viewer is able to look and they can see a beautiful just rays of light that are coming into the camera that's an experience

that the everyday person never gets the hat right because we can't just directly look into the sun and experience that specific perspective.

Equally you think about how cool it is to see time lapses right there's something special that sparks a specific feeling that creates

that kind of joy in the viewer just from looking at that it's like this visual candy that we love to see same with macro shots

right seeing so close on a specific object it's breaking away from the ordinary perspective you see where I'm going with this

the same exact thing we all share epic slow motion shots never in our day to day life do we get to see so much detail right a simple movement

they look so plain in ordinary reality on film looks so much better and more amazing this is how we create impactful moments

by using these hyper speeding up of film and hyper slowing down the film right showing the viewer situations

that breaks away from their normal day to day viewing experience cool cool cool.
