一緒に入居した木佐貫まやと付き合ってはいないが、想い合ったまま卒業となった。

スケボーではオリンピックを目指すという大きな目標をみつけた海斗。
いつもはケンカばかりしているというまやへの想いやはじめてキスをしたあのプレイルームでの心境を率直に語ります。

I have the goal of having people get interested in skateboarding
after they get to know me through Terrace House.

That’s why I joined the show.

I'd like people to see my skateboarding.

I want to become famous as a skater.

[Interview with a member who's leaving]

When I moved in, everything was fresh to me.

At first, I expected there to be
a lot of older members in the house,

but some of them were
the same age or close age.

I clicked with them sooner than I thought.

At Karuizawa, everyone else was working hard at their goals,
so I went to the skate park by myself.

I tried to concentrate on
skateboarding more than usual.

Since they're doing their best, I was like,
”I should try to really focus for 2 hours."

So I went there with that in mind.

[SOTA KONO AND AIO FUKUDA]
I really got along with them.

I hang out with Sota a lot, even after he left.

He's really like an older brother to me.

He contacts me a lot and really cares about me.

You know, a person like that
really makes you want to open up.

And Aio, too... Aio and Sota got along
with each other first, right?

Aio's also...

like an older brother.

He’s like, you know...

Sometimes he’s weak, emotionally.

When that happens, we talk
with each other because I can be, too.

The three of us would bath together a lot.

We would take baths while drunk,

we'd talk, get out, then drink again.

I’m not sure if we have a lot in common to talk about.

I mean, we’ve spent a lot of time together
but we don’t always talk.

We won't talk about anything in particular.

We just chill around.

She also prefers to do that.

She’d say, “I don’t like crowded places, it's such a pain.”

I tend not to be outgoing in such places.

We hit it off that way.

Well, she doesn’t cook, though.

“Make some food, Kaito!"

I’d be like, “Yes, ma’am.”

But I actually kind of like that part of her, somehow.

She was...

You know how she talked to me
about a lot of things...

about her worries and stuff.

I felt she has opened her heart to me.

I saw she also had the same feelings many times.

She’s really rooting for my skateboarding.

She often said, “I like you best
when you’re skateboarding.”

When I didn’t skateboard so much,

she'd ask me, “Why aren’t you doing that these days?”

[HOW WAS MAYA AT THE SCHOOL FESTIVAL?]
I thought she was pretty picturesque.

“She’s a model!”

So like...

you know how she was
usually like at the house?

Lke, "I’m so hungry!”

“Make something for me!”

But, like...

she looked like a different person from that.

I asked myself, “Am I falling for her?”

“This is crazy!”

That was my first time having a feeling that strong.

I heard it's been tough for her
at school, and listened to her worries.

So that day, I was just…

maybe not blown away,

but like, “She’s amazing! I have
to do my best boarding, too.”

[YOUR FIRST KISS WITH MAYA]
I couldn’t hold her hand on
the ice skate date. I was like, "No way!"

I thought I would totally hold her hand.
I really wanted to.

She was different from usual when being with me.

Not exactly...

She looked relaxed with me.

I felt that...

she was in a relaxed mood, so then...

I kissed her before I realized it.

Well, maybe not
before I realized it, but...

I wasn't like, "Let's kiss,
let's kiss!"

while watching the movie, but like,

“I kissed you!”

“Should I have not done that?”
"I didn't mind."

[WHY AREN’T YOU OFFICIALLY TOGETHER?]
We haven’t really defined our relationship,

but it's like we're dating.

Maybe I’ll ask her out officially someday.

But right now, with skateboarding… I have some plans
through May, out in America, and also Japan.

I want to focus on skateboarding at the moment.

She understands what I want to do.

[FIGHTING WITH MAYA]
As we got to spend
more and more time together,

she came to just say stuff bluntly.

You know she really speaks her mind, don’t you?

She only sugarcoats a little bit.

Her words would pierce me.

It would kind of bum me out.

And she would say,
“That’s not very manly!”

That would pierce me again.

And then, whenever I would feel down...

before realizing it, we would get into a kind of fight.

Well, we hardly actually fight.

I’m not angry usually.

When we’re completely drunk,
it seems easy to have a fight.

So I don't really drink
much these days.

If I do, it’ll only be two glasses or so.

My thinking is slow.

I get kind of panicked unless I’m alone.

So at those times when I'm like that,

I'll be like, “Well, I’m leaving,”
and I leave her.

When I was thinking about what to do,
Maya would often come talk to me.

She’d be like, “I’m sorry!”

I would say sorry, too.

[HAVE YOUR FEELINGS CHANGED TOWARD SKATEBOARDING?]
Yes, it has totally changed compared to
how it was before I moved in Terrace House.

I’m more motivated now.

When I was thinking of something
to turn into a challenge,

the Olympics came to mind as something that would really
broaden my horizons while I focused on skateboarding.

I’m looking forward to skateboarding
for the Olympics as another goal.

I feel like I can go to America with
a different feeling than I’ve had up to now.

At the moment, it’s impossible to participate
in the Olympics unless I give it my all.

So I’ll skateboard till I drop.

Part of me thinks I’m relieved
that Terrace House is over.

But more than that,
I’m eager to skateboard.
