Green cities are great, but what about mosquitoes? | Cameron Webb | TEDxParramatta

Title:
Green cities are great, but what about mosquitoes? | Cameron Webb | TEDxParramatta
Description:

The climate is changing and so are our cities and suburbs. As authorities strive to “green” our urban environments, there is a risk that new opportunities will be created for mosquitoes in and around our homes. Mosquitoes love water and warmth. To stop outbreaks of mosquito-borne disease, we need to better understand how these pesky bloodsuckers respond to a changing environment. What do we know and what we need to do to reduce future public health risks associated with mosquitoes?

Dr Cameron Webb is a scientist who spends his summers sloshing about in the wetlands of Sydney seeking out mosquitoes and working out how best to beat their bites.
