My New (empty) 2 Bedroom Condo Tour!

  • 0:00 - 0:02
Molly is clearly still learning her way
  • 0:03 - 0:05
    around. [laughs] You just missed
  • 0:05 - 0:06
    me falling into
  • 0:06 - 0:08
the wall and then into this door
  • 0:08 - 0:14
    intro music
  • 0:14 - 0:15
    Hello!
  • 0:15 - 0:18
And welcome to my new empty apartment.
  • 0:18 - 0:21
So this is a two bedroom condo
  • 0:21 - 0:22
It's going to be a lil bit echoey
  • 0:22 - 0:24
    Cause there's nothing in it
  • 0:24 - 0:25
    Note the “Empty Apartment Tour.”
  • 0:25 - 0:27
Don't worry, there’s gonna be full move in
  • 0:27 - 0:30
    vlogs and unpacking, decorating videos
  • 0:30 - 0:31
and I’ll definitely do a finished
  • 0:31 - 0:33
once it's decorated tour. I've done
  • 0:33 - 0:36
these three apartment tours in the past
  • 0:36 - 0:37
    cause apparently I move
  • 0:37 - 0:39
a lot! And uh, so I thought I'd do an
  • 0:39 - 0:41
    empty one this time cause
  • 0:41 - 0:43
I have it empty here for a few days.
  • 0:43 - 0:44
    It is all white, which
  • 0:44 - 0:45
    is exactly what I wanted.
  • 0:45 - 0:47
    I love it so much.
  • 0:47 - 0:49
So, this is the front door
  • 0:49 - 0:50
    and when you walk in
  • 0:50 - 0:53
It's to like, a very open concept space.
  • 0:53 - 0:55
    There is a light,
  • 0:55 - 0:56
    just a normal light.
  • 0:56 - 0:58
The floors throughout are this beautiful,
  • 0:58 - 1:00
    super, light washed wood.
  • 1:00 - 1:01
    Which I am obsessed with.
  • 1:01 - 1:03
    There’s tons of lights
  • 1:03 - 1:04
    everywhere, big windows.
  • 1:04 - 1:05
    It’s just very bright and
  • 1:05 - 1:07
that is exactly what I was looking for.
  • 1:07 - 1:09
    Right inside the door here,
  • 1:09 - 1:11
    we have the laundry.
  • 1:11 - 1:12
We love to see it! We love
  • 1:12 - 1:14
a good in-unit washer dryer moment.
  • 1:14 - 1:16
    What a luxury!
  • 1:16 - 1:18
So, very happy to have that.
  • 1:18 - 1:20
    And then...
  • 1:20 - 1:22
I’m still finding my way around.
  • 1:22 - 1:23
I just got the keys last night.
  • 1:23 - 1:27
In here, we have a whole built-in closet.
  • 1:27 - 1:28
    So, I’m gonna keep
  • 1:28 - 1:31
kinda my most needed jackets here
  • 1:31 - 1:33
and most needed shoes. But then also
  • 1:33 - 1:35
    probably, maybe, some cleaning supplies
  • 1:35 - 1:37
and I think I'll probably keep
  • 1:37 - 1:38
    Lavender and Gallops
  • 1:38 - 1:40
food in their bins down here
  • 1:40 - 1:42
so it’s really easy to grab.
  • 1:42 - 1:44
Where is the handle? There we go.
  • 1:44 - 1:46
It’s going to be a learning process.
  • 1:46 - 1:48
Then, it’s all just living room
  • 1:48 - 1:50
    in front of me here.
  • 1:50 - 1:52
Uhm, it is so open and spacious
  • 1:52 - 1:52
    I’m obsessed.
  • 1:52 - 1:55
One thing that I’m really excited about
  • 1:55 - 1:57
is over here... where is it?
  • 1:57 - 1:58
    In here?
  • 1:58 - 1:59
    We have shelving units.
  • 1:59 - 2:01
And I’m very excited about this
  • 2:01 - 2:04
because I love trinkets and décor and
  • 2:04 - 2:06
so I'm not gonna like overload them or
  • 2:06 - 2:08
anything cause that would get too busy.
  • 2:08 - 2:10
But I just am really excited to
  • 2:10 - 2:13
put some of my favorite décor pieces in
  • 2:13 - 2:16
here. Like my blush pink and copper globe,
  • 2:16 - 2:17
    Candles,
  • 2:17 - 2:19
Just things like that through out here.
  • 2:19 - 2:21
I think will look really fun
  • 2:21 - 2:23
and just add something special to this.
  • 2:23 - 2:24
    I’m thinking I’m gonna put
  • 2:24 - 2:27
    my couch like right here.
  • 2:27 - 2:28
If we can fit it in...
  • 2:28 - 2:30
We literally might not be able to
  • 2:30 - 2:32
get the couch into the building.
  • 2:32 - 2:33
    So that should be interesting.
  • 2:33 - 2:35
I might have to get a new couch
  • 2:35 - 2:36
    unfortunately.
  • 2:36 - 2:37
    Fingers crossed I don’t!
  • 2:37 - 2:38
    We'll find out soon.
  • 2:38 - 2:40
And so, the couch, I'm thinking,
  • 2:40 - 2:41
    is gonna go right here
  • 2:41 - 2:42
    Now...
  • 2:42 - 2:45
    They had it staged
  • 2:45 - 2:46
not when I was here looking
  • 2:46 - 2:49
but I'm renting from a private owner
  • 2:49 - 2:51
like, an owner owns this condo and
  • 2:51 - 2:53
I'm renting from them and I found the
  • 2:53 - 2:56
listing when it was being sold
  • 2:56 - 2:58
and they had it staged in those photos
  • 2:58 - 3:00
so I had like my mom
  • 3:00 - 3:01
and dad describe it to me
  • 3:01 - 3:04
and they had it staged where the chairs
  • 3:04 - 3:07
and couch were going this way
  • 3:07 - 3:09
but there's a really beautiful view and
  • 3:09 - 3:11
although I can't see it, I want people
  • 3:11 - 3:12
to be able to sit on the couch
  • 3:12 - 3:14
and, like, see the beautiful view
  • 3:14 - 3:15
    and I don't have a TV,
  • 3:15 - 3:17
so there's no need to, like, have a couch
  • 3:17 - 3:19
facing the wall where a TV would be
  • 3:19 - 3:21
so I think that's what I'm going to do.
  • 3:21 - 3:23
And then have my coffee table
  • 3:23 - 3:25
and then, where the window is,
  • 3:25 - 3:26
    like two chairs
  • 3:26 - 3:27
a nice table in the middle.
  • 3:27 - 3:29
It'll have to have some floor lamps
  • 3:29 - 3:31
cause there's no ceiling lighting in
  • 3:31 - 3:32
this area. But there's this giant
  • 3:32 - 3:34
window and all the blinds are remote
  • 3:34 - 3:37
controlled which sounds cool and high tech
  • 3:37 - 3:40
and modern, however, one of them is broken
  • 3:40 - 3:42
and we just got the keys yesterday
  • 3:42 - 3:44
and so they're getting it fixed.
  • 3:44 - 3:46
But it's kind of annoying cause now
  • 3:46 - 3:48
the blind is, like, mostly down
  • 3:48 - 3:49
    in the one room
  • 3:49 - 3:50
    and we can't open it
  • 3:50 - 3:53
cause there's no, like, you know, strings
  • 3:53 - 3:55
to pull. So that's kind of weird
  • 3:55 - 3:58
So, this is the den space.
  • 3:58 - 4:00
    This is an old building,
  • 4:00 - 4:01
    its a very old building
  • 4:01 - 4:04
and so this is like a renovated unit
  • 4:04 - 4:05
in a very old condo building
  • 4:05 - 4:10
and so, originally, this did have doors.
  • 4:10 - 4:12
Which, to be honest, I would have
  • 4:12 - 4:13
kind of preferred. I know a lot
  • 4:13 - 4:15
of people love the open concept
  • 4:15 - 4:17
but this is intended to be an office space
  • 4:17 - 4:18
and when you're at home on
  • 4:18 - 4:20
work calls you kind of want some privacy
  • 4:20 - 4:22
and the rest of the house doesn't want
  • 4:22 - 4:24
to hear what you're talking about all day.
  • 4:24 - 4:26
So, I feel like that was, honestly,
  • 4:26 - 4:28
a bad decision to take the doors out
  • 4:28 - 4:30
I would've just put clear glass doors
  • 4:30 - 4:32
or a sliding barn door or something
  • 4:32 - 4:35
to still give it that open feel
  • 4:35 - 4:37
    without removing the personal privacy
  • 4:37 - 4:39
of whoever's office space this is
  • 4:39 - 4:41
    but it wasn't my renovation.
  • 4:41 - 4:43
So there's tons of windows in here
  • 4:43 - 4:45
but the blind is stuck halfway down
  • 4:45 - 4:45
    at this point.
  • 4:45 - 4:48
    apparently, it's beautiful views
  • 4:48 - 4:49
but I cant show you that
  • 4:49 - 4:51
cause I don't want to show you and have
  • 4:51 - 4:52
creepy people figure out where I live
  • 4:52 - 4:55
uhm, but there is like overhead lighting
  • 4:55 - 4:56
in here. I don't know what exactly
  • 4:56 - 4:58
I'm going to do with this space
  • 4:58 - 4:59
I think I'm gonna put like
  • 4:59 - 5:01
    Lavender's cat condo in here
  • 5:01 - 5:03
maybe one of my swing chairs
  • 5:03 - 5:05
from my balcony cause I don't have a
  • 5:05 - 5:07
    balcony unfortunately here.
  • 5:07 - 5:09
The light switch for this is over
  • 5:09 - 5:12
here and it does have a dimmer switch
  • 5:12 - 5:15
which is nice. So you have some mood
  • 5:15 - 5:17
    lighting. There isn't dimmer switches
  • 5:17 - 5:18
    Throughout the place but
  • 5:18 - 5:20
there is in some spots and that's one.
  • 5:20 - 5:22
And then here is where my beautiful, giant
  • 5:22 - 5:24
    marble table will go.
  • 5:24 - 5:26
I'm so obsessed. My last apartment
  • 5:26 - 5:28
that I was living in, couldn't fit
  • 5:28 - 5:30
    my giant, rectangular, marble table
  • 5:30 - 5:33
so i kept it in storage, but this is
  • 5:33 - 5:35
the perfect spot for it and I think
  • 5:35 - 5:37
it's gonna look so good with all just the
  • 5:37 - 5:39
whites and the greys, cause all of...
  • 5:39 - 5:41
everything here is white and then
  • 5:41 - 5:43
a lot of my furniture is gray, white and
  • 5:43 - 5:44
pastel pink, so I think it's just
  • 5:44 - 5:46
gonna look perfect. So I'll have my big
  • 5:46 - 5:48
table here with my clear chairs.
  • 5:49 - 5:51
I personally dont love this light
  • 5:51 - 5:53
I feel like its very trendy right now to
  • 5:53 - 5:56
have with these kind of wicker lights.
  • 5:56 - 5:59
and I get it. It justs not personal -
  • 5:59 - 6:01
    it's a beautiful light - it's just not
  • 6:01 - 6:05
personally my vibe. So, I might switch
  • 6:05 - 6:08
that out if the guy lets me, I'll
  • 6:08 - 6:09
    just store this and then
  • 6:09 - 6:11
buy my own overhead light. Switch
  • 6:11 - 6:13
it out, so potentially that will happen.
  • 6:14 - 6:16
and then over here we come into the
  • 6:16 - 6:21
kitchen. Obviously, this is like a bar
  • 6:21 - 6:23
area, where you could put two
  • 6:23 - 6:25
to three chairs. I dont have any bar
  • 6:25 - 6:27
stools that will fit this. I might
  • 6:27 - 6:28
pick some up. I might not.
  • 6:28 - 6:30
    I haven't really decided
  • 6:30 - 6:32
I'm gonna have six chairs to sit at the
  • 6:32 - 6:33
table. I dont know that this willl
  • 6:33 - 6:35
be used that much. But who knows?
  • 6:35 - 6:37
I might move in and be like,
  • 6:37 - 6:39
"I'm really missing have chairs at
  • 6:39 - 6:41
my bar". So we'll have to see.
  • 6:41 - 6:45
And we go left into the kitchen
  • 6:45 - 6:48
its an all white kitchen. It is a very
  • 6:48 - 6:51
    small like galley kitchen,
  • 6:51 - 6:53
    but I don't cook
  • 6:53 - 6:55
so, I dont care that its a small kitchen.
  • 6:55 - 6:57
One cool thing about this fridge though
  • 6:57 - 6:59
is its smudge proof. So you like leave
  • 6:59 - 7:01
fingerprints and they disappear. I dont
  • 7:01 - 7:03
know if it will pick up on camera but
  • 7:03 - 7:05
I feel like thats kind of nice, you never
  • 7:05 - 7:08
have to clean it. Also, the dishwasher
  • 7:08 - 7:13
okay, is like drawers. So there's two
  • 7:13 - 7:19
drawers instead of like a kind of
  • 7:19 - 7:21
traditional one that folds down. So I
  • 7:21 - 7:23
thought that was unique. uhm, and I guess
  • 7:23 - 7:25
its good in a small tight space like this
  • 7:25 - 7:28
to have that style. Uhm yeah, so nothing
  • 7:28 - 7:30
much to say. This is the kitchen.
  • 7:30 - 7:34
And then in the hallway, we have tons
  • 7:35 - 7:39
of storage. I think that this built-in
  • 7:39 - 7:42
is kind of intended to be like your pantry
  • 7:43 - 7:45
so for people who love cooking and
  • 7:45 - 7:47
snacks, they would kind of store a lot
  • 7:47 - 7:49
of their food in here. I don't love
  • 7:49 - 7:53
cooking or snacks. So I'll probably
  • 7:53 - 7:55
mostly put my shoes in here. I feel this
  • 7:55 - 7:57
could be good shoe storage, right Mom?
  • 7:57 - 7:58
    [Mother] Actually I was thinking
  • 7:58 - 8:00
    the same thing myself.
  • 8:00 - 8:03
So I think perhaps shoes will be going
  • 8:03 - 8:07
there If there's some overflow, and then
  • 8:07 - 8:11
here we have more storage. They really did
  • 8:11 - 8:13
a really good job, at like building in
  • 8:13 - 8:15
storage to the space. Oh there is not
  • 8:15 - 8:17
another door. Here I am feeling around
  • 8:17 - 8:18
    to pull another door open.
  • 8:18 - 8:20
They really did a great job at building
  • 8:20 - 8:22
in storage and there is a light in there
  • 8:22 - 8:24
too actually which is kind of nice.
  • 8:24 - 8:26
I'm impressed with all the built-ins
  • 8:26 - 8:27
I feel like thats - if you have an old
  • 8:27 - 8:29
    space that you're renovating whether
  • 8:29 - 8:31
its with the intention to sell, to rent,
  • 8:31 - 8:33
or to just continue living there
  • 8:33 - 8:35
yourself, I feel like doing built-in
  • 8:35 - 8:37
    storage and built-in closets is
  • 8:37 - 8:39
such a wise way to spend your money
  • 8:39 - 8:41
cause it makes your life so much
  • 8:41 - 8:43
better and so much easier. And I feel
  • 8:43 - 8:45
like for resale value, its really big.
  • 8:46 - 8:48
Across from that last cupboard in
  • 8:48 - 8:51
the hallway, we have the one bathroom,
  • 8:51 - 8:53
    not one, theres two bathrooms,
  • 8:53 - 8:55
but this is the first kind of guest
  • 8:55 - 8:57
bathroom. So there is a bathtub.
  • 8:58 - 9:00
    Unfortuantely, my fellow bath lovers
  • 9:00 - 9:04
will relate to me on this. A good bathtub
  • 9:04 - 9:07
has a slanting back, so you can like
  • 9:07 - 9:09
lean back when you are soaking in
  • 9:09 - 9:12
the tub. Bad bathtubs have like a rigid
  • 9:12 - 9:15
edge that you cant get comfortable in.
  • 9:15 - 9:19
This has one of those. It's like just
  • 9:19 - 9:21
straight up and down so you can't
  • 9:21 - 9:23
really like comfortably sit with your
  • 9:23 - 9:25
back. So I'm gonna try to find like a
  • 9:25 - 9:27
nice bath pillow or something that
  • 9:27 - 9:29
might make it better. The floor is so
  • 9:29 - 9:33
beautiful. I love this tile so much.
  • 9:33 - 9:37
    And its heated flooring. Correct.
  • 9:37 - 9:39
    Its heated flooring.
  • 9:39 - 9:43
I'll let that soak in. I'm very excited
  • 9:43 - 9:45
and then I love the sink. I love that
  • 9:45 - 9:47
they did like an above counter sink
  • 9:47 - 9:49
because I feel like it frees up a lot of
  • 9:49 - 9:51
    storage space underneath for piping
  • 9:51 - 9:53
and stuff. Sunken in all the piping then
  • 9:53 - 9:55
takes up a lot of room. So I feel like
  • 9:55 - 9:57
it's not only aesthetically nice but its
  • 9:57 - 10:00
just smart for saving storage. They left
  • 10:00 - 10:03
Kleenex, which is funny. But I also like
  • 10:03 - 10:05
that there's again somewhat of like
  • 10:05 - 10:08
built in storage in here. So products can
  • 10:08 - 10:10
go in here and they wont like be all
  • 10:10 - 10:13
over the place in the drawers.
  • 10:13 - 10:15
and there is another big drawer down
  • 10:15 - 10:18
here. And then this mirror is cool cause
  • 10:18 - 10:21
you can see it has like the lighting
  • 10:22 - 10:24
but you can also like wave your hand under
  • 10:25 - 10:27
and that turns off. So if you didn't want
  • 10:27 - 10:31
that lighting, boom, on and off.
  • 10:31 - 10:32
So I think that's pretty neat.
  • 10:32 - 10:34
(Record Scratching) Molly is clearly still
  • 10:34 - 10:37
learning her way around. You just missed
  • 10:37 - 10:40
me walk into the wall, and then into this
  • 10:41 - 10:44
door, like [laughing] literally I was like
  • 10:44 - 10:46
"Ow!" & then I took two more steps and was
  • 10:46 - 10:49
like "Ow!" so its gonna take a week or so
  • 10:49 - 10:52
[Mother] Meanwhile, you found my phone.
  • 10:52 - 10:54
[Molly] Yes, my mom was looking for her
  • 10:54 - 10:56
phone & I was like, "Oh, I found your
  • 10:56 - 10:58
phone its in here!" Because this is a
  • 10:58 - 11:00
built-in closet and I was like feeling
  • 11:00 - 11:01
    all of the built-ins
  • 11:01 - 11:03
and it was sitting right on here and then
  • 11:03 - 11:05
she's like, "How did you find my phone?"
  • 11:05 - 11:07
and then as I'm like triumphantly bringing
  • 11:07 - 11:09
her the phone, I like walk into two things
  • 11:09 - 11:11
in the span of three steps. So it'll
  • 11:11 - 11:13
take me a good week or so to get
  • 11:13 - 11:15
settled and learn the way around.
  • 11:15 - 11:16
But its fine, we are doing well.
  • 11:17 - 11:19
So, this is another built-in. This is in
  • 11:19 - 11:21
the second bedroom. Now the second
  • 11:21 - 11:24
bedroom has no overhead light at all,
  • 11:24 - 11:26
which is too bad, again, if I had bought
  • 11:26 - 11:28
this condo and renovated it, I would
  • 11:28 - 11:29
    personally put overhead
  • 11:29 - 11:31
    lighting in every room and
  • 11:31 - 11:33
all of it would have dimmer switches.
  • 11:33 - 11:35
    Personal preference, but it doesnt.
  • 11:36 - 11:38
So we have one of my filming studio lights
  • 11:38 - 11:40
on, but this will just have to have lots
  • 11:40 - 11:43
of lamps. And so yeah, this is the
  • 11:43 - 11:45
    built-in closet. So
  • 11:45 - 11:47
once my boyfriend is able to live
  • 11:47 - 11:50
here with me, this is gonna be his office,
  • 11:50 - 11:53
because, like everyone, he works from home
  • 11:53 - 11:55
and so this will be his home office. So
  • 11:55 - 11:57
he'll have his desk. We'll probably keep
  • 11:57 - 11:59
our workout equipment in here as well and
  • 11:59 - 12:01
then this will be his closet for all his
  • 12:01 - 12:03
clothes and shoes and what not. And it's
  • 12:03 - 12:05
honestly quite spacious. Like they really
  • 12:05 - 12:08
did a good build in here compared, if you
  • 12:08 - 12:09
    you think, what it probably
  • 12:09 - 12:11
    was before, with just a
  • 12:11 - 12:14
bar across the top, but its so much more
  • 12:14 - 12:16
convenient now how they've done it.
  • 12:16 - 12:18
So really well done. And there's really
  • 12:18 - 12:20
nothing to say about this room. Its just
  • 12:20 - 12:23
a square room that's gonna have some
  • 12:23 - 12:26
    work equipment and some workout
  • 12:26 - 12:27
equipment. Then we have the master
  • 12:27 - 12:29
bedroom! which is directly across the hall
  • 12:29 - 12:32
from the second bedroom, which is
  • 12:32 - 12:34
again, an office. And both the bedrooms
  • 12:34 - 12:36
have floor to ceiling, wall to wall
  • 12:36 - 12:38
windows on one side, which is really
  • 12:38 - 12:40
really nice and it does have those blinds
  • 12:40 - 12:42
with the remote control. I think in the
  • 12:42 - 12:44
window I'm gonna put that faux fur white
  • 12:44 - 12:47
bench that I had in my last apartment
  • 12:47 - 12:49
in the doorway like in the hallway at the
  • 12:49 - 12:51
front entrance. I think I'll put that in
  • 12:51 - 12:54
the window in the bedroom. And then at the
  • 12:54 - 12:56
end of the bed, there's like almost like a
  • 12:56 - 12:59
cutout in the wall. And I think there I'm
  • 12:59 - 13:01
gonna put that photo of the woman's face
  • 13:01 - 13:03
that used to be in the background a lot in
  • 13:03 - 13:05
my videos and my vanity. And there here
  • 13:05 - 13:08
    against this wall will be
  • 13:08 - 13:09
    beautiful storage bed
  • 13:09 - 13:12
with bedside tables and its honestly
  • 13:12 - 13:15
so spacious. Again, no overhead light
  • 13:15 - 13:18
though, in the main part of the bedroom so
  • 13:18 - 13:20
that's a little sad. But we'll just rely
  • 13:20 - 13:23
on good lamps. And then we come this way.
  • 13:23 - 13:25
This is where it gets interesting.
  • 13:25 - 13:28
So the same light above that is in the
  • 13:29 - 13:32
entrance way and then it's all built-ins
  • 13:32 - 13:35
and what's interesting here is like its
  • 13:35 - 13:38
open concept. So, as you see, there's no
  • 13:38 - 13:44
sliding door. There's nothing here. So all
  • 13:44 - 13:46
your clothes and shoes are exposed which
  • 13:46 - 13:49
defintely forces you to keep it organized
  • 13:49 - 13:51
and clean, because anybody who walks
  • 13:51 - 13:54
in here can see if its messy. You also
  • 13:54 - 13:56
just really want to be careful with where
  • 13:56 - 13:57
    you're putting things like bras
  • 13:57 - 13:59
    or underwear. Like, you're
  • 13:59 - 14:00
gonna have to get, I guess the
  • 14:00 - 14:02
    drawers. There is drawers here.
  • 14:02 - 14:03
So I guess you wanna make sure
  • 14:03 - 14:05
you're keeping all personal stuff in the drawers
  • 14:05 - 14:08
hidden away, but yeah, I think that's pretty
  • 14:08 - 14:09
interesting. I might film with this
  • 14:09 - 14:11
as the background somtimes. For like
  • 14:11 - 14:13
fashion videos I feel like it would be fun
  • 14:13 - 14:14
to see some of my clothes like hung up
  • 14:14 - 14:16
behind me and stuff. I dont know. I
  • 14:16 - 14:18
feel like that would look cool. So this
  • 14:18 - 14:21
will be my closet space because, like most
  • 14:21 - 14:24
partnerships, I do have more clothes than
  • 14:24 - 14:28
my male counterpart. And then over here
  • 14:28 - 14:31
is another built-in. This ones a little
  • 14:32 - 14:34
more private. These are all shoe racks
  • 14:34 - 14:36
which is really great. And then we have
  • 14:36 - 14:40
coat racks and then some more little
  • 14:40 - 14:43
    space here. Pretty good.
  • 14:43 - 14:47
And then we come into the master bathroom
  • 14:47 - 14:49
and it is that same beautiful black and
  • 14:49 - 14:52
white geometric tile with heated flooring.
  • 14:52 - 14:53
    I'm obsessed.
  • 14:53 - 14:56
Same exact vanity with the same kind of
  • 14:56 - 14:59
built-in drawer layout I think. Oh,
  • 15:00 - 15:01
    it's slightly different actually. Huh.
  • 15:01 - 15:04
Oh, you can move these. Oh my God
  • 15:04 - 15:07
    That's so handy. I love discovering -
  • 15:08 - 15:09
[Mother] Molly, you must be in heaven.
  • 15:09 - 15:10
I love discovering new things, okay?
  • 15:11 - 15:15
and then again, the same lighting
  • 15:15 - 15:18
situation with that, toilet, and then here
  • 15:18 - 15:20
    is a standing glass shower.
  • 15:21 - 15:25
    Now, it's - it's very narrow,
  • 15:25 - 15:26
    which is fine.
  • 15:27 - 15:28
    What's interesting, and I was
  • 15:29 - 15:30
talking about this with my mom yesterday
  • 15:31 - 15:32
when we got the keys and we were touring,
  • 15:33 - 15:37
I was like, "both this glass shower
  • 15:37 - 15:39
and the glass shower in my last apartment
  • 15:40 - 15:41
don't have any shelves for products."
  • 15:41 - 15:44
    No built-in shelves for products.
  • 15:44 - 15:46
No little, like, cubby in the corner,
  • 15:46 - 15:48
    where you put your products.
  • 15:49 - 15:50
Nothing! And, I'm like, "Do these people,
  • 15:50 - 15:51
    when they design showers,
  • 15:51 - 15:52
forget that literally everybody who's ever
  • 15:53 - 15:55
showered has at least one or two products
  • 15:55 - 15:57
that they need like soap, shampoo,
  • 15:58 - 16:00
    something. So, that's very strange.
  • 16:01 - 16:02
So, I'm gonna have to figure something out
  • 16:03 - 16:04
    for that. Uhm...
  • 16:04 - 16:07
If I had done this shower, personally,
  • 16:07 - 16:10
I would have added a door here for two
  • 16:10 - 16:13
reasons, because with it being open,
  • 16:13 - 16:15
if you move the shower head to point too
  • 16:15 - 16:18
far out you're gonna potentially get water
  • 16:19 - 16:21
dripping onto the floor. I know there
  • 16:21 - 16:23
is this ledge here to help stop that,
  • 16:23 - 16:25
but I've had this situation happen before.
  • 16:26 - 16:28
Also, it keeps the heat in.
  • 16:28 - 16:30
So, when you turn the water off,
  • 16:31 - 16:32
like, this is all the heat from the shower
  • 16:33 - 16:34
is still kept in here. So, you
  • 16:35 - 16:37
can kind of like dry off a little bit
  • 16:37 - 16:38
before you, like, enter back out to the
  • 16:38 - 16:40
cold world. Whereas, when it's already
  • 16:40 - 16:42
open, the cold air is just gonna get
  • 16:42 - 16:43
    immediately to your wet body,
  • 16:44 - 16:45
and it's not fun. So, that's
  • 16:45 - 16:47
probably what I would have done.
  • 16:48 - 16:49
But, it's beautiful. Like, honestly, it's
  • 16:49 - 16:51
like they did a great job with this
  • 16:51 - 16:53
    renovation. One, two, I've toured
  • 16:53 - 16:55
five spaces. This was the first I saw
  • 16:55 - 16:57
and i was like "Yep, that's the one."
  • 16:57 - 16:58
    "That's me."
  • 16:58 - 16:59
"I need to go back and snatch that up."
  • 17:00 - 17:01
And, honestly, it feels like such a gift.
  • 17:02 - 17:03
I feel so grateful that I can live in such
  • 17:03 - 17:05
a beautiful space, like this, that really
  • 17:06 - 17:07
    makes me so happy.
  • 17:07 - 17:09
And, I'm so excited to decorate it and
  • 17:09 - 17:11
show you guys what I do.
  • 17:11 - 17:13
I love home décor. I know a lot of people
  • 17:13 - 17:15
don't understand how I can love home décor
  • 17:15 - 17:15
so much, even though I can't see it.
  • 17:17 - 17:19
But, it is a real passion of mine.
  • 17:19 - 17:21
    So, I'm really excited.
  • 17:21 - 17:23
I'm gonna stick with an all gray and white
  • 17:23 - 17:25
theme in here. So, I don't think we're
  • 17:26 - 17:27
going to do lavender in the bedroom
  • 17:27 - 17:29
    anymore. I mean the cat Lavender, yes;
  • 17:29 - 17:31
    but, the color no (Laughs),
  • 17:31 - 17:33
because I think it'll just be nice,
  • 17:33 - 17:35
    especially because that's open concept.
  • 17:35 - 17:37
And, so, any of the colors of my clothes,
  • 17:38 - 17:39
you know, I just think keeping
  • 17:39 - 17:41
it all neutral is going to be nice.
  • 17:41 - 17:43
Which is the other weird part about an
  • 17:43 - 17:44
open-concept is, like, if you wanted to
  • 17:44 - 17:47
paint your bedroom orange, but all your
  • 17:47 - 17:48
like, blue and green, and purple and
  • 17:48 - 17:50
red and yellow clothes are showing,
  • 17:50 - 17:52
it's kinda of like.. clashy? I don't know.
  • 17:53 - 17:54
But it's gonna be all neutral in here.
  • 17:55 - 17:56
    Uhm, I'm very excited.
  • 17:57 - 17:58
It really does feel like a gift. Yesterday
  • 17:58 - 18:00
so this is going up on February 9th...
  • 18:00 - 18:01
    Yesterday, February 8th, was my
  • 18:01 - 18:03
27th birthday. It is painful to even say
  • 18:03 - 18:07
that out loud, because I feel like [sigh]
  • 18:07 - 18:09
my mid-20s are officially behind me.
  • 18:09 - 18:10
    I can't say I'm in my mid-20s anymore.
  • 18:11 - 18:12
I am absolutely in my late-20s.
  • 18:13 - 18:13
    I have to say that.
  • 18:14 - 18:16
But, uhm, it really feels like such a gift
  • 18:16 - 18:17
to have gotten this and moved in
  • 18:18 - 18:20
right on time for my birthday. And, I did
  • 18:21 - 18:22
buy myself one other gift though:
  • 18:22 - 18:25
    These shoes right here!
  • 18:25 - 18:26
    They're Jeffrey Campbell.
  • 18:26 - 18:28
If you're as obsessed with them as I am,
  • 18:28 - 18:29
    check them out.
  • 18:29 - 18:31
    I just couldn't help myself.
  • 18:32 - 18:33
For those who can't see, they're like,
  • 18:33 - 18:34
    these beautiful chunky-heel platform, and
  • 18:35 - 18:38
    they're lavender, pastel pink, and
  • 18:38 - 18:40
    periwinkle and I love them.
  • 18:41 - 18:42
So, that was my birthday gift to myself.
  • 18:43 - 18:45
Uhm, and, this apartment is certainly
  • 18:46 - 18:47
    feeling like a huge blessing.
  • 18:48 - 18:50
I've been saving up for a long time to
  • 18:51 - 18:52
eventually try and hopefully buy my own
  • 18:52 - 18:54
place, and I'm hoping to do so
  • 18:54 - 18:56
within the next few years. And, I've been
  • 18:56 - 18:58
giving it a lot of thought over the last
  • 18:58 - 19:00
little while, about what I'm looking for,
  • 19:00 - 19:04
and, uhm, I really think that I want to
  • 19:04 - 19:06
    buy something and renovate it.
  • 19:07 - 19:09
Like, buy something that's old and needs
  • 19:09 - 19:11
to be gutted, and just totally re-do it,
  • 19:11 - 19:12
and bring you guys on that journey
  • 19:13 - 19:14
    with me. Because, as you
  • 19:14 - 19:16
guys heard me walking through here,
  • 19:16 - 19:19
I do, uhm, have a lot of opinions about
  • 19:19 - 19:21
renovations and design, and I think it
  • 19:22 - 19:24
would be really fun to design my own home
  • 19:24 - 19:26
to be as comfortable and accessible
  • 19:27 - 19:28
as it could be for me,
  • 19:28 - 19:29
and to take you guys on that journey,
  • 19:29 - 19:30
    as well. And, I'm
  • 19:31 - 19:32
a part of a lot of retinitis pigmentosis
  • 19:33 - 19:35
support groups on Facebook, and I see a
  • 19:35 - 19:37
lot of people in the group
  • 19:37 - 19:38
    talking about that, like
  • 19:38 - 19:39
    "Hey, we're renovating our house."
  • 19:39 - 19:41
"Any ideas for best way to design it to be
  • 19:41 - 19:42
    accessible." and things like that.
  • 19:43 - 19:45
So, I thought, "Wouldn't it be fun to get
  • 19:45 - 19:47
to do that for myself and to bring
  • 19:48 - 19:49
you guys on that journey with me?!"
  • 19:49 - 19:50
And, so I think that is something that
  • 19:51 - 19:51
    I am hoping to do
  • 19:52 - 19:54
in the next year or two, so hopefully...
  • 19:54 - 19:56
Hopefully, this is the last place I have
  • 19:57 - 19:58
    to rent. Who knows?
  • 19:59 - 20:00
Every time I've said that, I've had to
  • 20:01 - 20:01
move. So, maybe I shouldn't say that.
  • 20:02 - 20:04
