How To Dutch Braid Your Own Hair Step By Step For Complete Beginners - FULL TALK THROUGH

Today I will show you

step by step Dutch braid

I won't speed anything up

in this video because I

will explain every step

I take from top to bottom

So yeah, it will be very long.

If you all have trouble

doing Dutch braid,

step by step

I'm sure you all will become

master braiders in no time.

First,

you want to brush all

your hair so there are no tangles.

When you finish brushing your hair,

you will part your hair

separate into two equal sections

Down back of head

Here we go.

Now, take hairclip

something similar or elastic

to pull hair out of the way,

or tie it up.

Depends on what you're using.

First, you want to

make little triangle,

section at front.

You can see here

little triangle.

There, there

then cross over.

Little triangle

You will take this section

then split into 3 sections.

I've seen many people

pull hair down this way

then split it,

but you have to pull in direction

you want braid to go.

We want braid

to go back of head

pull hair in that direction

then split it.

Like that.

This is top section,

this middle section,

this bottom section.

Now we start braiding

I prefer starting with top strand

but you can start with

bottom strand as well.

Remember, start

with same strand on other side.

First, you will

take top strand, bring it under

to middle.

Now this is top strand,

this middle strand,

this now bottom strand.

Then do same thing

to bottom strand, bring under

into middle.

Now this top strand,

this middle strand,

this bottom strand.

Now you've started braid.

Now you need to add in hair,

I know two ways to add hair.

I will show both ways.

First way, take top strand

grab some hair from same side,

then take this section

bring under to middle

Again on other side, you will

take bottom strand, grab some hair

then add to bottom strand

bring under to middle.

Again, take top strand,

grab some hair from same side,

then cross under

into middle.

Again, take bottom strand,

grab some hair, bring under

into middle.

Then take top strand, grab some hair,

bring under into middle

Again, take bottom strand,

grab some hair from same side

bring under to middle.

Again, take top strand,

grab some hair from same side,

bring under to middle.

Again, take bottom strand,

grab some hair from side,

bring under to middle.

Again, take top strand

grab some hair

Oww

bring under

into middle.

If you can't figure out how to

add hair this way,

I will show you different technique.

Instead adding hair,

before wrapping under

bring to middle,

you will add hair afterwards.

Take bottom strand,

wrap under to middle,

hold all strands in one hand,

take some hair from side,

add to middle strand.

Again, take top strand,

bring under into middle

then grab some hair from side

then bring under

into middle.

Again, take bottom strand under

into middle,

then take section from same side

then bring into middle section.

Take top strand

under into middle,

grab section of hair

add to middle section.

Again, take bottom strand

under into middle,

now add some hair from same side.

Again, take top strand

under into middle

then add some hair from back.

Bring bottom strand

under into middle

add some hair.

Now I have reached back of my head,

I have no more hair to add.

Now I continue braiding

hair like usual braid

When you finish braiding,

take elastic

secure braid.

That how you Dutch braid

Now we will do other side.

Take clip out.

Make sure

no tangles.

Now I will show you

same thing I did on other side

but just on this side

Now you have 2 braids.

Take small triangle shape

like that.

split into 3 sections.

Because I started with top strand

on other side, I will start

with top strand on this side.

Take top strand

under into middle

then take bottom strand

under into middle.

Now start adding hair.

Take top strand,

grab some hair,

bring under to middle.

Take bottom strand,

grab some hair from same side

bring that under into middle.

Again take top strand,

grab some hair from same side,

then bring that under into middle.

Again take bottom strand,

grab some hair,

then bring under into middle.

Again take top strand, grab some hair

then bring this under

into middle.

Then take bottom strand,

grab some hair,

bring that under into middle.

Again take top strand, grab some hair

bring this under into middle.

Again take bottom strand,

grab some hair,

bring under to middle.

Again take top strand, grab some hair

from back,

bring that under

into middle.

Ow.

That was first technique.

Now I show you

other technique.

Take bottom strand,

bring under to middle,

then bring all strands to one hand.

Grab new section of hair,

add that to middle strand.

Again take top strand,

under into middle,

bring all strands to one hand.

Add some hair from same side

to middle strand.

Again take bottom strand,

cross under to middle,

grab some hair from same side,

then bring under to middle.

Then take top strand

under to middle, grab some hair,

add to middle section.

Take bottom strand

under to middle

add some hair to middle strand.

Take top strand

under to middle,

then add some hair.

Now no more hair to add,

I will braid hair

like normal braid.

Take elastic to secure braid.

Now you finished braiding,

you can start to loosen braid

by pulling on sides of braid,

it becomes very big

and really voluminous.

You can also leave like this

if this look you want.

This how Dutch braid your hair.
