¿No cierto?
Juan: OK, gracias.
Catalina, tell me a bit about
your experience here
at the 'Hiperbarrio-Convergentes' project?
Basically, not only for me but also for
all of us involved in the initial stages
of the project, we saw 'Convergentes'
as an opportunity to talk at ease,
to do things differently to being
at University, school or at home,
and to learn how to communicate.
Communicaction is a basic necessity
for human beings.
My main reflection on 'Convergentes' is
that it has been a vindication for people.
At the start of the project,
and I guess now too,
there have always existed
multiple personalities,
but that never prevented people
from working.
Instead, Gabriel and all
those taking part in the process,
always saw it as a matter of
us claiming ourselves.
You are what you feel and
what you want to express, right?
So, as a result of that, I think
something in a lot of the kids clicked,
because the kids were the ones
who came from complex family contexts,
they found a place where they
weren't being asked
Why is your hair like that? Why are you late?
Why do you think that? Why are you playing the guitar?
Why are you singing? Why are you shouting?
It turned into a way of pursuing
answers to those questions at that age
at the time what were we?
14 or 15?
So it was a place where you could
express yourself, and as often said,
in the moment of expressing yourself,
you feel a little freer.
And by feeling freer, you'll be
a little calmer.
So, I think
that's what the project was built on.
It's been changing constantly,
but its essence remains, whenever someone
goes to the 'Convergentes' meeting point,
whether when it began or now, they will
never feel excluded or stigmatized.
Do you still feel part of the project
on a personal level?
Not really, as being part of the project is
being there physically as well as virtually.
It's been a while since I physically
set foot there, for various reasons,
and being part of a project requires being
involved in the decision-making processes
and putting forward ideas, but it's been
a while since I've done that.
But it still holds a place in your heart,
so you sometimes wonder
what have they published? what
have they written?
what are they doing now? what's happening
with 'La Loma'?
So I'm part of its history I guess,
but not its present.
Juan: OK, thanks.
Catalina, tell me what you think about your experience here in the Hiperbarrio-Convergentes project.
Basically, Convergentes became, I think not just for me but also for the group that participated since the very beginning,
in a chance to chat quietly, to do things besides just attending university or school or being at home
and a chance to learn how to communicate.
ÂżRight? Facing the need for communication that is innate in each human being
the basic consideration I highlight when consulted about the topic is that Convergentes affirms the human aspect,
in other words, there were here at the beginning, and now alike, diverse personalities,
but it was not an obstacle to work,
but it meant that Gabriel and the rest of us that participated in the process
were always determined to affirm the human aspect.
You are what you feel, you are what you want to express,
ÂżRight?
Then, since now on, I think that many of the children experienced a turning point
since they came from complex family background
and here they found a place where no one was asking them
Why do you wear your hair like that?,  Why do you arrive late?,  Why do you think that?,  Why are you playing the guitar?
Why are you singing?,  Why are you shouting?
it became a way to affirm those quests typical of that age,
 Right?
when you were  What? 14 or 15 years old.
Then, it was a space...to find a way of expression, or as it has been said many times,
when expressing one feels freer,
then, the fact of feeling more free will make you more calm.
Then, taking this into account
I think that the project has developed, it has undergone a number of changes and it has diverses sides,
but the essence persists, this means that when someone
-from the beginning of the project or a new member, arrives to the meeting point of
Convergentes he will not feel strange or excluded,on the contrary he will feel at home,
on a personal level, Â Do you still feel part of the project?
Not really, since ...being part of the project demands physical presence not only virtual involvement.
Let's say that a long while passed since I had physical presence due to
a number of reasons and being part of a project implies being involved in decision making
and being there proposing ideas and I am not participating that way for quite a long time now
but it remains a place in my heart, then, from time to time one gets in touch to know the last piece of gossip
What did they publish recently?  What did they write?
What are they doing?  What is going on in La Loma?
then, Â Are you taking part? No, I'm not
One could say that one was part of the history of the project but not currently.
Juan: OK, thanks.
[Juan ] Catalina
qu'on a à quoi, 14, 15 ans.
all'università, a scuola o a casa,
e per imparare a comunicare.
La comunicazione è una necessità
fondamentale per gli esseri umani.
La mia riflessione principale è che è
stata una rivendicazione per le persone.
All'inizio del progetto,
e suppongo anche adesso,
ci sono sempre state
Invece, Gabriel e tutti
coloro che partecipano al processo,
l'hanno sempre visto come un modo
per affermare noi stessi.
Tu sei quello che senti e
quello che vuoi esprimere, giusto?
Quindi, come conseguenza, credo che
è scattato qualcosa in molti ragazzi
perché i ragazzi che venivano
da contesti familiari difficili
hanno trovato un posto dove
non gli veniva chiesto
Perché hai i capelli così? Sei in ritardo?
Perché lo pensi? E suoni la chitarra?
Perché stai cantando? Perché stai urlando?
Si è trasformato in un modo per
rispondere alle domande di quell'età
quando avevamo?
14 o 15 anni?
E' in continuo cambiamento,
a livello personale?
Ok, grazie.
