HEAL THE SICK AND PREACH THE GOSPEL - Not Just A Choice But A Command

  • 0:02 - 0:04
    The Call of Jesus
  • 0:05 - 0:10
    Welcome to lesson 16
"Heal the Sick & Preach the Gospel".
  • 0:10 - 0:12
    Do you love Jesus?
  • 0:12 - 0:15
    Is He your Lord,
    and do you obey Him?
  • 0:15 - 0:20
    If you love Him,
and if He's your Lord and you obey Him,
  • 0:20 - 0:23
then you will be healing the sick
    and preaching the gospel.
  • 0:23 - 0:26
    Why? Because this is what
    He says to us.
  • 0:26 - 0:30
This is what He has called us to.
  • 0:30 - 0:33
That is what He has called you to.
  • 0:33 - 0:36
You will not "only" heal the sick.
  • 0:36 - 0:39
    You also preach the gospel.
  • 0:39 - 0:42
And you will not "only" preach the gospel.
  • 0:42 - 0:45
    You also heal the sick.
  • 0:45 - 0:50
    These two things:
healing the sick and preaching the gospel,
  • 0:50 - 0:54
it's something we read in the Bible.
    It's going hand in hand.
  • 0:54 - 0:57
It went hand in hand in Jesus' life.
  • 0:57 - 1:00
It went hand in hand in what
    He was preaching
  • 1:00 - 1:03
and what He called His disciples to do,
  • 1:03 - 1:07
and this is what we see
    with the early church.
  • 1:07 - 1:11
Some of you will have problem
    with what I've said before,
  • 1:11 - 1:14
    when I started with saying:
Heal the sick and preach the gospel.
  • 1:14 - 1:17
    You would think: No.
Why does he say: heal the sick?
  • 1:17 - 1:21
    Why is this chapter called
    "Heal the sick" - first?
  • 1:21 - 1:25
I know some of you, because of your
tradition, will have problem with it.
  • 1:25 - 1:29
Others who see this, maybe will have
a problem with me, at all, saying:
  • 1:29 - 1:33
"Heal the sick", because you don't believe
    it's for today.
  • 1:33 - 1:38
    Some of you will think:
Okay, it's for today and this is okay,
  • 1:38 - 1:40
but you don't like that I say
    it's for everyone
  • 1:40 - 1:43
because it's only for a few out there.
  • 1:43 - 1:47
    But when we continue,
I really ask you to be open,
  • 1:47 - 1:49
open to what I want to share,
  • 1:49 - 1:53
    open to what I'm sharing
out of the Word of God.
  • 1:53 - 1:59
It is so important that we don't
    build theology on our experience,
  • 1:59 - 2:05
    that we don't build theology
    on our lack of experience,
  • 2:05 - 2:08
    or on our church traditions.
  • 2:09 - 2:15
Don't build theology on anything else
than on the Word of God,
  • 2:15 - 2:17
    on what Jesus is saying.
  • 2:17 - 2:19
So, I hope you are ready for this.
  • 2:19 - 2:27
In this series we have now came to
Luke 10:9, where Jesus is saying this:
  • 2:27 - 2:30
"Heal the sick who are there and tell them,
  • 2:30 - 2:34
'The kingdom of God has come near to you."
  • 2:35 - 2:38
So, this is what Jesus has commanded
    us to do.
  • 2:38 - 2:42
And here we see that Jesus Himself said:
  • 2:42 - 2:47
    Heal the sick, first,
    and then preach, later.
  • 2:47 - 2:51
So, if you had a problem with me
    in the beginning,
  • 2:51 - 2:53
starting saying: heal the sick, first,
  • 2:53 - 2:58
and then, I said, share the gospel later,
  • 2:58 - 3:00
then, talk with Jesus about it.
  • 3:00 - 3:03
Because, if you had a problem with that,
  • 3:03 - 3:05
then you, actually, don't have a problem
    with me.
  • 3:05 - 3:07
You have a problem with Jesus.
  • 3:07 - 3:11
    Because I was just quoting
    what Jesus was saying.
  • 3:13 - 3:14
Why do I start with this?
  • 3:14 - 3:16
Because there are so many traditions.
  • 3:16 - 3:18
There are so many church traditions.
  • 3:18 - 3:21
And I have seen it again and again,
    if I say to somebody:
  • 3:21 - 3:24
"Hey, you need to heal the sick."
    "Oh... oh... no, no, no.
  • 3:24 - 3:26
it's more important that we preach
    the gospel."
  • 3:26 - 3:30
And yes, we need to preach the gospel,
    but...
  • 3:30 - 3:33
How often do you hear somebody said:
"Hey, we need to preach the gospel!"
  • 3:33 - 3:36
"Oh, no, no, no, we have to start
    with healing the sick."
  • 3:36 - 3:38
We don't hear people talk like that.
  • 3:39 - 3:41
It's important that we do both.
  • 3:41 - 3:47
Because other places, like in Luke 10:9,
    we saw here, Jesus said,
  • 3:47 - 3:49
    first heal the sick,
    and then preach the gospel.
  • 3:49 - 3:53
    But other places, Jesus said,
first, preach the gospel and heal the sick.
  • 3:53 - 3:59
The importance is not the order.
The importance is that we do both.
  • 3:59 - 4:03
The importance is that we obey Jesus.
  • 4:03 - 4:06
And Jesus has never called us
  • 4:06 - 4:07
    "just"
  • 4:07 - 4:08
    to heal the sick,
  • 4:08 - 4:11
or "just" to preach the gospel.
  • 4:11 - 4:15
He has called us to both preach
the gospel and heal the sick,
  • 4:15 - 4:18
or heal the sick and preach the gospel.
  • 4:18 - 4:21
    This is His call.
  • 4:21 - 4:25
Let me read a short quote from
    this chapter in my book.
  • 4:25 - 4:29
    "Jesus is the same yesterday,
    today, and forever.
  • 4:29 - 4:32
    When Jesus walked on earth,
    He went to people's houses
  • 4:32 - 4:35
because the sick needed a doctor
  • 4:35 - 4:37
    and the sinners needed forgiveness.
  • 4:37 - 4:41
Now, you and I are His body,
  • 4:41 - 4:44
    bringing healing and forgiveness
    to people."
  • 4:46 - 4:49
    And that is the thing.
If we look at Jesus' life,
  • 4:49 - 4:55
Jesus was not only healing the sick /
    casting out demons.
  • 4:55 - 4:58
He was not only preaching the gospel.
  • 4:58 - 4:59
    He did both.
  • 4:59 - 5:05
He went around, in people's houses,
because the sick needed a physician.
  • 5:05 - 5:07
    The sick need healing.
  • 5:07 - 5:11
    And the sinners need repentance.
    The sinners need forgiveness.
  • 5:11 - 5:14
And these were those two things
    He was preaching -
  • 5:14 - 5:17
    healing and forgiveness,
    forgiveness and healing.
  • 5:17 - 5:21
But then He saw that the harvest was great
    and the workers were few,
  • 5:21 - 5:24
so He called the first 12 to Him.
  • 5:24 - 5:28
And those 12 He did not only called
    to heal the sick,
  • 5:28 - 5:30
or only called to preach the gospel.
  • 5:30 - 5:34
No, He called them to heal the sick
    and preach the gospel.
  • 5:34 - 5:37
But then He saw that the harvest
    was still great
  • 5:37 - 5:39
and the workers were still few,
  • 5:39 - 5:44
so He called the 70 to Him
    and called them,
  • 5:44 - 5:47
not only to preach the gospel,
not only to heal the sick,
  • 5:47 - 5:50
but to both heal the sick
    and preach the gospel.
  • 5:50 - 5:54
But the harvest is still great
    and the workers are few.
  • 5:54 - 6:00
So He has called us to go out and do it
to all nations now, and make disciples.
  • 6:00 - 6:03
That was what Jesus died for.
He paid the price on the cross.
  • 6:03 - 6:08
By His wound we are healed.
By His blood we are forgiven.
  • 6:08 - 6:11
And we need to bring that to people.
  • 6:11 - 6:15
We need to go to the homes,
    as Jesus did it,
  • 6:15 - 6:16
    and bring healing.
  • 6:16 - 6:20
We need to go to the homes,
    as Jesus did it,
  • 6:20 - 6:22
    and bring forgiveness.
  • 6:23 - 6:27
Before we move on and talk about healing
the sick and preaching the gospel,
  • 6:28 - 6:36
I'd like to remind you of what Jesus is saying
in Matthew 11:28-30. He is saying this:
  • 6:36 - 6:41
"Come to me, all of you who are weary
and burdened, and I will give you rest.
  • 6:41 - 6:48
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart,
  • 6:48 - 6:51
and you will find rest for your soul.
  • 6:51 - 6:56
For My yoke it is easy
    and My burden is light."
  • 6:56 - 7:03
Jesus says here that His yoke is easy
    and His burden is light.
  • 7:03 - 7:08
That also comes to healing the sick
    and preaching the gospel,
  • 7:08 - 7:10
    in that way that...
  • 7:11 - 7:13
    You can learn this.
  • 7:13 - 7:15
    We can all learn it.
  • 7:15 - 7:19
We can all learn to walk in this.
  • 7:19 - 7:25
So remember, Jesus' yoke is easy
    and His burden is light.
  • 7:26 - 7:32
Also, when it comes to healing the sick
    and preaching the gospel.
  • 7:32 - 7:38
    Yes, all beginnings are hard,
but when you start to learn
  • 7:38 - 7:41
and start to walk in it,
  • 7:41 - 7:45
it will be an easy yoke to carry.
  • 7:45 - 7:50
It will not be a big burden,
to heal the sick and to preach the gospel.
  • 7:50 - 7:54
    Why? Because it's what Jesus
    has called us to do.
  • 7:55 - 8:00
But remember, Satan is a liar.
  • 8:01 - 8:04
And we need to understand that
  • 8:04 - 8:08
the gospel was not only meant
  • 8:08 - 8:12
to be preached from a platform,
    by a few people,
  • 8:12 - 8:18
but the gospel was meant to be preached
from everyone out there in the homes.
  • 8:18 - 8:22
    Remember that healing the sick
  • 8:22 - 8:25
is not only for a few people today,
  • 8:25 - 8:29
    who have a special gift,
or a few people who stand on a platform.
  • 8:29 - 8:35
No, healing the sick is also meant
for everyone out there in the homes.
  • 8:35 - 8:41
Some of you will say: No, no, healing
the sick cannot be for us and for everyone.
  • 8:41 - 8:46
It's only for a few. Why? Because it's not
everyone who has the gift of healing.
  • 8:46 - 8:52
And we need to look at that.
In 1 Corinthians 12:30 we read:
  • 8:52 - 8:56
"Do all have the gift of healing?"
  • 8:56 - 9:01
And the answer, in this context is:
No, not all have the gift of healing.
  • 9:01 - 9:04
    But remember, Satan knows
    the Word of God,
  • 9:04 - 9:08
and Satan was using the Word,
    or twisting the Word
  • 9:08 - 9:13
    to mean something else,
when he was tempting Jesus in the desert.
  • 9:13 - 9:16
And this is what we see here
    in 1 Corinthians.
  • 9:16 - 9:20
If people say: No, no, we cannot
heal the sick because this verse is saying
  • 9:20 - 9:22
that not everyone has the gift of healing.
  • 9:23 - 9:24
    Let me explain.
  • 9:25 - 9:28
No, it's not all who have the gift of healing.
  • 9:28 - 9:30
It's not all who are prophets.
  • 9:30 - 9:32
It's not all who are evangelists.
  • 9:32 - 9:34
It's not all who are teachers.
  • 9:34 - 9:36
It's not all who have the gift of faith.
  • 9:36 - 9:39
It's not all who have the gift of helping.
  • 9:39 - 9:43
Just to say some of the giftings
and ministries we see in the Bible.
  • 9:43 - 9:47
    But you have to understand
    how this works.
  • 9:47 - 9:51
You can have faith without having
    the gift of faith.
  • 9:51 - 9:54
You can help people without having
    the gift of helping.
  • 9:54 - 9:58
You can learn to prophesy without
    being a prophet.
  • 9:58 - 10:01
    You can learn to evangelize
    without being an evangelist.
  • 10:01 - 10:04
You can teach other people something
    without being a teacher.
  • 10:04 - 10:07
    And you can heal without
    having the gift of healing.
  • 10:07 - 10:13
Those gifts are here to equip
    the saints to do ministry.
  • 10:13 - 10:15
    Let's say like that.
  • 10:15 - 10:20
Try to imagine you can only do
what you have a gift to do.
  • 10:20 - 10:23
That means that... The Bible says
it's not everyone who has the gift of faith.
  • 10:23 - 10:27
Does that mean, if you don't have
the gift of faith, you have no faith?
  • 10:27 - 10:28
    Then you are lost.
  • 10:28 - 10:29
    You are lost.
  • 10:29 - 10:34
Try to imagine if somebody come
    and say to you:
  • 10:34 - 10:36
Hey, can you help me move this chair?
  • 10:36 - 10:40
You say: No, I cannot help you move the chair.
Why? I don't have the gift of helping.
  • 10:40 - 10:43
Or somebody says: Hey, can you give a gift
    to this ministry?
  • 10:43 - 10:48
No, no, no, I cannot give a gift,
because I don't have a gift of giving.
  • 10:48 - 10:52
Or, if your kid come and say:
Mom, dad, can you help me with homework?
  • 10:52 - 10:56
No, no, we don't have the gift of teaching.
We cannot help you with teaching.
  • 10:57 - 10:59
    Or somebody says:
Can you tell me about Jesus?
  • 10:59 - 11:02
No, no, I cannot tell you about Jesus,
    because I'm not an evangelist.
  • 11:02 - 11:06
    It will just be crazy
if we will think like that.
  • 11:06 - 11:12
No, we can all do everything
in Jesus Christ who strengthens us.
  • 11:13 - 11:17
I can help other people, even if I would say
I have not the gift of helping.
  • 11:17 - 11:20
I can prophesy even I would say
    I'm not a prophet.
  • 11:20 - 11:26
I can teach other people even
I would say I don't have the gift of teaching.
  • 11:26 - 11:30
    I can do different things,
and you can do different things.
  • 11:31 - 11:32
    How do the gifts work?
  • 11:33 - 11:37
There are people who have a special calling.
  • 11:37 - 11:41
For example, there is a ministry,
    a teacher called David Pawson.
  • 11:41 - 11:44
David Pawson is an old gentleman
    from England.
  • 11:44 - 11:48
Hi is a teacher with the big T.
  • 11:48 - 11:49
    He blessed me a lot.
  • 11:49 - 11:51
    I listened to his teaching.
  • 11:51 - 11:54
I can teach. I love teaching.
    I'm teaching you.
  • 11:54 - 12:00
But, it's not like: Hey, I want to teach
    Sunday, after Sunday, after Sunday,
  • 12:00 - 12:02
for a year, or two years.
I don't have that in me.
  • 12:02 - 12:04
    But David Pawson has it.
  • 12:04 - 12:07
David Pawson is a teacher with a big T.
  • 12:07 - 12:11
    By me being with him,
    and receiving from him,
  • 12:11 - 12:16
he inspired me and made me better
    in teaching.
  • 12:16 - 12:19
    Then I know other people
who are prophets with the big P.
  • 12:20 - 12:25
I can prophesy, but I'm not a prophet,
but when I'm together with those people
  • 12:25 - 12:28
    I become stronger in prophesying,
  • 12:28 - 12:32
because they are making me strong,
    they help me.
  • 12:32 - 12:35
The same way is with all the other gifts.
  • 12:35 - 12:40
There are people in the church
who have a special gift in some areas.
  • 12:40 - 12:43
They don't use it only for themselves,
  • 12:43 - 12:47
but they use it to equip others to do it.
  • 12:47 - 12:50
The same way, I would say, you don't need
a gift of healing to heal the sick.
  • 12:50 - 12:52
Just start to heal the sick.
  • 12:52 - 12:55
If you then grow up and become
    strong in it
  • 12:55 - 12:58
and start to equip others to do the same,
  • 12:58 - 13:02
then we can say you have
    the gift of healing.
  • 13:02 - 13:04
    Do you understand?
  • 13:04 - 13:08
So, forget all about the gifts
    in the beginning.
  • 13:08 - 13:09
    Start to serve.
  • 13:09 - 13:11
Start to help where you need to help.
  • 13:11 - 13:13
Start to teach where people need teaching.
  • 13:13 - 13:15
Start to heal the sick where people
    need healing.
  • 13:15 - 13:18
Start to share the gospel where people
    need the gospel.
  • 13:18 - 13:22
And then you start and do it all,
and maybe some of the areas you grow
  • 13:22 - 13:26
and you become stronger, and then you start
to equip others in that area,
  • 13:26 - 13:30
    and then we can say:
    Wow! You have a gift.
  • 13:30 - 13:37
So, again, it's so important that we don't
    build theology on our experience.
  • 13:37 - 13:43
Why? Because our experience can change
    from day to day.
  • 13:44 - 13:47
    So never build theology
    out of the experience.
  • 13:47 - 13:49
    But, look at Jesus.
  • 13:49 - 13:54
We need to always look at Him,
    when we talk about theology.
  • 13:54 - 13:59
My experience is that it's not everyone
I prayed for who get healed.
  • 14:00 - 14:03
But my experience is also that many
    people get healed,
  • 14:03 - 14:09
and more people get healed now
than they did last year and the year before.
  • 14:09 - 14:12
    So, let's look at Jesus.
  • 14:12 - 14:14
What do we see in the Bible?
  • 14:14 - 14:17
We see that Jesus healed everyone
    who came to Him.
  • 14:17 - 14:19
    So simple as that.
  • 14:19 - 14:23
He never needed to send anyone away
and say: Sorry, I could not heal you.
  • 14:23 - 14:28
Sorry, I did not have faith for it.
Sorry, I cannot help you. Go away. No.
  • 14:28 - 14:32
    Everyone you came to Him,
    it's not everyone who came,
  • 14:32 - 14:35
but those who came to Him,
    He healed them.
  • 14:35 - 14:41
    Those who came to Him,
    He set them free.
  • 14:41 - 14:43
And Jesus is our role model.
  • 14:43 - 14:45
    He is our example.
  • 14:45 - 14:48
Imitate me as I imitate Christ,
    Paul said.
  • 14:48 - 14:50
But in those areas where Paul
    did not imitate Christ,
  • 14:50 - 14:52
    we should not imitate him.
  • 14:52 - 14:55
    We should imitate Christ instead.
  • 14:55 - 14:57
    Christ is our example.
  • 14:57 - 15:01
    If we look at Jesus,
    He healed everyone, every time.
  • 15:01 - 15:03
He set everyone free every time.
  • 15:03 - 15:07
But there is an example in the Bible,
    in Matthew 17,
  • 15:07 - 15:12
    where Jesus' disciples prayed
for a young boy with a demon,
  • 15:12 - 15:14
and they could not cast out that demon.
  • 15:14 - 15:19
    Jesus came there and rebuked
the disciples for their lack of faith,
  • 15:19 - 15:21
and then He set that boy free.
  • 15:21 - 15:25
And they asked: Why we could not
    cast out that demon?
  • 15:25 - 15:27
Jesus said: Because you don't have faith.
  • 15:27 - 15:30
And then He talked about the unbelief
    in their lives,
  • 15:30 - 15:35
and He said: That kind of unbelief is only
being cast out through prayer and fasting.
  • 15:35 - 15:38
But here we see an example
    of Jesus' disciples
  • 15:38 - 15:42
    who tried to do something
and they could not do it.
  • 15:42 - 15:45
Like we try to pray for people
    and they don't get healed.
  • 15:45 - 15:48
We try sometimes to cast out demon
    and people don't experience freedom.
  • 15:48 - 15:50
What do we, sadly, do today?
  • 15:51 - 15:53
We come with a lot of theology
    why it didn't happen.
  • 15:53 - 15:56
Oh, maybe it's not God's will
    or maybe it's not time,
  • 15:56 - 16:01
or maybe they have the sin in their life,
or maybe it's a curse, or special curse...
  • 16:01 - 16:03
    We complicate it.
  • 16:03 - 16:06
But I know those times I prayed for people
    and they didn't get healed,
  • 16:06 - 16:09
and I prayed and they didn't get set free,
  • 16:09 - 16:13
if Jesus was coming, He would just look
at them and set them free right away,
  • 16:13 - 16:16
look at me and rebuke me
    for my lack of faith.
  • 16:16 - 16:18
    It's so simple.
  • 16:18 - 16:22
    It comes down to faith.
  • 16:22 - 16:23
    We need faith.
  • 16:23 - 16:29
And it's okay for me to recognize
that there are things I cannot do, yet,
  • 16:29 - 16:32
that I'm not like Christ, yet,
  • 16:32 - 16:34
that I pray for people who
    don't get healed, yet.
  • 16:34 - 16:39
Why? Because we are all disciples.
We are all apprentices, as we have talked about.
  • 16:39 - 16:44
But I want to see more healing and
breakthrough this year than I did last year.
  • 16:44 - 16:47
Why? Because we are here to learn.
    We are here to grow.
  • 16:47 - 16:51
I want to read a bigger text from
    my book, from this chapter.
  • 16:51 - 16:54
    "My theology is very simple
    when it comes to faith.
  • 16:54 - 16:58
    I truly believe it's always God's will
    to heal,
  • 16:58 - 17:02
just like it's always His will
    to save people.
  • 17:02 - 17:05
    When Jesus' disciples could not
    cast out the demon,
  • 17:05 - 17:11
they could have come up with many excuses
as to why the boy was not set free.
  • 17:11 - 17:14
Yes, they could have said, 'Oh, maybe
he has sin in his life
  • 17:14 - 17:18
and that is why he was not set free',
    or
  • 17:18 - 17:21
'Maybe it is not God's will to heal.'
  • 17:21 - 17:25
    Or, they could have said,
'Maybe healing is not for today.'
  • 17:25 - 17:31
They could have come up with so many excuses,
just like people often do today,
  • 17:31 - 17:35
but at that time, Jesus was still
    physically here on earth,
  • 17:35 - 17:39
    and He rebuked His disciples
    for their lack of faith,
  • 17:39 - 17:41
and He set the boy free.
  • 17:41 - 17:45
The problem today is that Jesus
    is no longer physically walking
  • 17:45 - 17:48
    around on earth,
    as He did at that time;
  • 17:48 - 17:53
    therefore, today, when people
    do not get healed,
  • 17:53 - 17:57
we start to come up with a lot of false
    theology
  • 17:57 - 18:00
as to why it did not happen.
  • 18:00 - 18:05
There are many books out there today
saying why healings do not happen,
  • 18:05 - 18:08
but much of what is being taught
    is not biblical.
  • 18:08 - 18:11
If Jesus physically came down on earth today,
  • 18:11 - 18:15
He would heal everyone just like He did
    before,
  • 18:15 - 18:18
and we would all have to change our theology,
  • 18:18 - 18:21
and throw away these books and
    false teachings about healing.
  • 18:21 - 18:24
So I have a simple theology.
  • 18:24 - 18:29
    Jesus wants to heal everyone,
and everyone who came to Jesus was healed.
  • 18:29 - 18:36
Not everyone came to Him, but those
who came to Him, all of them were healed."
  • 18:36 - 18:42
And this is as clear as I can say it:
    I truly believe this.
  • 18:42 - 18:44
This is what I see in the Bible.
  • 18:44 - 18:50
Don't build theology on your experience
    or your lack of experience.
  • 18:50 - 18:53
    Let's look at Christ.
    Let's look at His life.
  • 18:53 - 18:56
Let's look at what Jesus has called us to do.
  • 18:56 - 18:57
    Let's obey Him.
  • 18:58 - 19:03
And if you take the time to look
at the Bible, you will see very clear
  • 19:03 - 19:07
    that you are called
not only to heal the sick,
  • 19:07 - 19:09
    not only preach the gospel,
  • 19:09 - 19:11
but you are called to do both.
  • 19:11 - 19:15
You are called to heal the sick
    and preach the gospel
  • 19:15 - 19:17
and that go hand in hand,
  • 19:17 - 19:21
    together with, of course,
    casting out demons.
  • 19:21 - 19:24
Because what do we see in Luke 10,
    when Jesus sent them out,
  • 19:24 - 19:26
He actually just said: Heal the sick,
  • 19:26 - 19:30
but we read that they came back
    later rejoicing and saying:
  • 19:30 - 19:34
Even the demons obey in Your name.
  • 19:34 - 19:37
So, what we see? When you start
to go out and heal the sick in faith,
  • 19:37 - 19:40
you will see that some of those
    you prayed for,
  • 19:40 - 19:44
    suddenly a demon manifested
and you say: Come out in the name of Jesus!
  • 19:44 - 19:47
And will start to cast out demons instead.
  • 19:47 - 19:51
So, we are called to do it.
Yes, we are not like Jesus yet.
  • 19:51 - 19:54
    Sometimes we pray for people
    who don't get healed.
  • 19:55 - 19:57
But then we need to just grow
    in our faith.
  • 19:57 - 20:00
    We need to keep growing,
we need to keep looking at Jesus.
  • 20:00 - 20:02
We need to grow in our faith.
  • 20:02 - 20:06
And those who maybe don't get healed
this time, if we come back a year later,
  • 20:06 - 20:11
now we have faith, now we can help them
and we can set them free.
  • 20:11 - 20:16
So, you don't need a special gift.
    You just need faith.
  • 20:16 - 20:19
And start with the faith you have.
  • 20:19 - 20:24
Start be faithful in the small things,
also when it comes to your little faith,
  • 20:24 - 20:28
or my little faith. We need to be
    faithful in the small things,
  • 20:28 - 20:32
and then we need to grow from there.
  • 20:32 - 20:34
So, when you are out there,
    in your everyday life,
  • 20:34 - 20:38
and want to obey the call of Jesus,
  • 20:38 - 20:41
then be bold, find a person of peace,
    share Jesus with them.
  • 20:42 - 20:44
    But not only share Jesus.
  • 20:45 - 20:50
Pray for them. Ask them: Hey, excuse me,
do you have anything I can pray for?
  • 20:50 - 20:54
Lay hands on them and pray for them.
  • 20:54 - 20:57
And you who are out there already
laying hands and praying for people,
  • 20:57 - 21:01
not only do that. Remember also
    to share the gospel.
  • 21:01 - 21:05
    Those two things should go
    hand in hand.
  • 21:06 - 21:08
How do you start with this?
  • 21:08 - 21:10
I encourage you to read my book.
  • 21:10 - 21:14
I have much more teaching about
healing the sick in this chapter.
  • 21:14 - 21:18
Beside that, we have a lot of videos
    on our YouTube channel
  • 21:18 - 21:22
with teaching about how to heal the sick
    on our online "Pioneer School".
  • 21:22 - 21:25
I have many hours teaching about
    how to heal the sick.
  • 21:25 - 21:28
I have many hours teaching about
    how to cast out demons.
  • 21:28 - 21:31
    And together with this video
I'm going to put a link in
  • 21:31 - 21:35
to some of those teachings of how to
heal the sick and how to cast out demons.
  • 21:35 - 21:41
But I want to add here a very, very good way,
is to find somebody near you
  • 21:41 - 21:43
who can take you by the hand
and take you out on the street
  • 21:43 - 21:46
    and get you started.
    We call it the kickstart.
  • 21:46 - 21:50
    Why? Because it's one thing
    to read about it,
  • 21:50 - 21:53
it's one thing to hear about it,
it's something else to obey it.
  • 21:54 - 22:00
From hearing to start to obey it,
that step can be a big step.
  • 22:00 - 22:05
    So, what we can offer,
    if you go to TLRmap.com
  • 22:05 - 22:10
and in the text together with it
there is also a link, TLRmap.com.
  • 22:10 - 22:15
Try to find somebody near you
who already go out and pray for people.
  • 22:15 - 22:18
And meet with them and say:
Can you take me out on the street?
  • 22:18 - 22:21
Because when you do it with somebody,
    it is so much easier.
  • 22:21 - 22:24
If you've done it one time
you can do it again, and you can do it again,
  • 22:24 - 22:27
and you can do it again,
and many get healed, some don't get healed,
  • 22:27 - 22:34
and you grow from there, and you start
obeying Jesus and the call He has given you.
  • 22:35 - 22:38
If you don't have anyone around you
    who can take you out,
  • 22:38 - 22:40
    just do it anyway.
  • 22:40 - 22:42
That was the same with me.
  • 22:42 - 22:45
I did not have anyone who took me
    by the hand,
  • 22:45 - 22:49
but I saw what Jesus has called me to.
  • 22:51 - 22:53
I needed to make a decision:
do I want to obey Him,
  • 22:53 - 22:56
or do I want to obey
    my church's experience?
  • 22:56 - 22:57
Do I want to obey Him or my tradition?
  • 22:57 - 23:03
Do I want to build my life on my experience
or build my life on the Word of God?
  • 23:04 - 23:10
In the beginning, my life looked
very far away from the Word of God.
  • 23:10 - 23:15
But slowly, how the years have gone,
I moved up, and I've grown and learned
  • 23:15 - 23:20
to walk more like Christ, my life
more and more looked like the Word of God.
  • 23:20 - 23:23
My life, more and more, looked like Christ's.
  • 23:23 - 23:27
And this is the same journey
    we are all on.
  • 23:28 - 23:31
So, I really, really want to encourage you...
  • 23:32 - 23:35
    take that extra step.
    Remember it's God's will.
  • 23:35 - 23:39
Remember it's the call of Jesus.
Jesus has called you to heal the sick
  • 23:39 - 23:41
    and preach the gospel.
  • 23:41 - 23:45
    Don't ask questions:
Oh, does God want me to pray for people?
  • 23:45 - 23:49
Yes, He wants you to pray for people.
    It's in His Word.
  • 23:49 - 23:52
    You don't need to ask.
    It's already written.
  • 23:52 - 23:54
It's the call He has given you.
  • 23:54 - 23:58
    Instead of asking:
Oh God, oh Jesus, is it Your will?
  • 23:58 - 23:59
Do You want me to pray for people?
  • 24:00 - 24:03
    Stop asking that, but instead,
    ask other people around you:
  • 24:03 - 24:05
Excuse me, can I pray for you?
  • 24:05 - 24:07
    Ask them. Be bold.
  • 24:07 - 24:10
    When you meet somebody:
Excuse me, can I pray for you?
  • 24:10 - 24:12
    What if they say "no"?
  • 24:13 - 24:16
Then you say: "have a good day" or say:
"the reason I asked you is
  • 24:16 - 24:18
because I want to tell you about Jesus".
  • 24:18 - 24:20
But what if they say "yes"?
  • 24:20 - 24:23
What if you pray for them and they
    don't get healed?
  • 24:23 - 24:25
Then you prayed for them and they
    did not get healed,
  • 24:25 - 24:29
and you have learned from that,
    and then you share Jesus.
  • 24:29 - 24:32
But what if you pray for them
    and they get healed?
  • 24:33 - 24:35
    We will all experience people
    who will say "no".
  • 24:35 - 24:37
    We will all experience people
    who will say "yes".
  • 24:37 - 24:38
    We will all experience people
    who will get healed.
  • 24:38 - 24:41
    We will all experience people
    who won't get healed.
  • 24:41 - 24:44
The worse thing you can do
    is - do nothing.
  • 24:45 - 24:51
Try to remember that this is
a call Jesus has given us.
  • 24:52 - 24:56
When you say "yes" to Him
    you said "no" to yourself.
  • 24:56 - 25:00
You say "yes" to denying yourself
and taking up your cross and follow Him,
  • 25:00 - 25:03
    and be His disciple.
  • 25:03 - 25:08
So, let's be bold and let's start to
    obey Him,
  • 25:08 - 25:10
    and then grow from there.
  • 25:11 - 25:14
So, I really encourage you to take
    some steps.
  • 25:14 - 25:20
In the next lessons I will take time
to look at how to preach the gospel,
  • 25:20 - 25:22
    as we read about.
  • 25:22 - 25:27
And then later, after taking two or three
lessons, where I will look at the gospel,
  • 25:27 - 25:30
I will put it all together and start
    to share testimonies
  • 25:30 - 25:33
where we see Luke 10 come together,
  • 25:33 - 25:36
    everything we've been looking
    until now.
  • 25:36 - 25:37
God bless you and see you next time!
  • 25:37 - 25:43
Share this video and let's see a church
that not only confesses Jesus as Lord,
  • 25:43 - 25:46
but starts to obey Jesus as Lord,
  • 25:46 - 25:50
    starts to live the life
He has called us to do.
  • 25:50 - 25:52
    God bless you!
    See you next time! Bye-bye!
  • 25:54 - 25:57
