-
Hello, my name is Alfian Septiani Budaputra.
-
This is Subang City
-
I will explain about this tree which is "Lay Tree"
and this is the result of grafting,
-
This grafting is about almost 10 years old.
-
And this is the 4th flower, this flower is still pink,
-
and this is the 3rd fruit which will enter the 3rd month and be harvested.
-
And for the Lay Tree itself, its enters this
Bunihayu Farm in around the 80s
-
we have some other Lay Mother Tree that were planted a long time ago-
-
when there were still Palm Oil Trees in around 1971 that were planted in Bunihayu, Subang City
-
and for the Lay Tree itself,
it is the highest type in Subang,
-
the Lay Tree have several kinds,
there are yellow, red and also orange.
-
Lay Tree is the biggest durian producer in
West Java, especially in Subang City
-
- So how do you know this tree is different from normal durian?
-
Yes?
-
- This tree, how does it look?
-
"Why is this tree different from other durian trees?"
-
Why is this one different from other trees is because
-
we have a really good pH soil for Durian Lay Tree,
-
so the flavour is a bit sweeter,
and also when we pick the fruits in 4 days
-
the durian is very soft and ripe.
-
Also, from the color,
the durians here are better in color
-
sometimes it's bright orange or red
-
For Lay itself, why do we call it Lay is because the type we have here is red flower,
-
Lay have red flowers, this is Subang's specialty
-
Supposedly, this November the first flower is already gone in January
-
But, the fourth flower appeared in the second month
-
That's a miracle, because the 1st and 2nd flowers should be gone in January
-
And the 3rd flower appeared in the second month
-
- And how about the branching? This tree start very low with the branching, why?
-
"Why is this tree short?"
-
- This one is grafted, right?
- yes it is
-
This tree is short because it is grafted, so the fruits appear in only about 1 meter and a half height
-
and the fruits appear because this tree is grafted
-
this is the flower of the 3rd fruit, it should be ready to be harvested in around the 3rd or 4th month
-
maybe March or April
