Το πιο εκπληκτικό γεγονός,

είναι η γνώση.

Ότι τα άτομα που συνθέτουν τη ζωή στη Γη,

τα άτομα που απαρτίζουν το ανθρώπινο σώμα,

είναι ανιχνεύσιμα στα χωνευτήρια που μετέτρεψαν τα ελαφριά στοιχεία

σε βαρέα στοιχεία στον πυρήνα τους

κάτω από ακραίες συνθήκες θερμοκρασίας και πίεσης.

Αυτά αστέρια , τα πιό μεγάλα

έγιναν ασταθή με τα χρόνια,

κατέρρευσαν και στη συνέχεια εξερράγησαν σκορπώντας τα πλόυσια σωθικά τους σε όλες τις άκρες του Γαλαξία

σωθικά φτιαγμένα απο άνθρακα , άζωτο , οξυγόνο

και όλα τα θεμελιώδη συστατικά της ίδιας της ζωής.

Τα συστατικά αυτά αποτελούν μέρος των νεφών αερίου που

συμπυκνώνονται, καταρρέουν, και δημιουργούν την επόμενη γενιά ηλιακών συστημάτων

αστέρια με πλανήτες, και εκείνοι οι πλανήτες έχουν τώρα τα συστατικά για την ίδια τη ζωή.

Οπότε, όταν κοιτάζω τον νυχτερινό ουρανό

και ξέρω ότι ναι, είμαστε ενα μέρος αυτού του σύμπαντος

είμαστε μέσα σε αυτό το σύμπαν, αλλά ίσως πιο σημαντικό από αυτά

είναι ότι το σύμπαν βρίσκεται μέσα μας.

Όταν σκέφτομαι αυτά τα πράγματα, κοιτάζω πάνω-

αρκετοί άνθρωποι νιώθουν μικροί, επειδή είναι μικροί και το Σύμπαν είναι μεγάλο-

αλλά εγώ νιώθω μεγάλος, επειδή τα άτομα μου προήλθαν απο αυτά τα αστέρια.

Υπάρχει ένα επίπεδο σύνδεσης.

Αυτό είναι που θέλεις στη ζωή, θέλεις να νιώθεις συνδεδεμένος, θέλεις να νιώθεις σχετικός

θέλεις να νιώθεις πως συμμετέχεις σε ότι συμβαίνει

στις δραστηριότητες και γεγονότα γύρω σου.

Αυτό ακριβώς είμαστε , απλά με το ζούμε ...
