This video was recorded by Fiel Sahir in Bratislava, Slovakia, where he and Michael met at the 2017 Polyglot Gathering. Slovak is spoken by as many as 5.2 million people, primarily in Slovakia, where it is nationally official, as well as other countries in Eastern Europe, such as Serbia and the Czech Republic, where Slovak is a recognized minority language. A Slavic member of the Indo-European family of languages, Slovak was first standardized in the 1840s by the cultural activist Ľudovít Štúr, upon whose work the language's modern orthography is based. It is written with a unique variety of the Latin alphabet.
