Transparency in science | Kimberly Schelle | TEDxRadboudU

Title:
Transparency in science | Kimberly Schelle | TEDxRadboudU
Description:

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences.

Kimberly Schelle, named as the most inspiring student of Nijmegen, and student of Behavioural Science at Radboud University, uses dancing as metaphor for transparency in science. "If you have ever done ballroom classes, you'll know that just doing the steps is not dancing: it is all about performing the steps together. The man leads and the woman needs to trust that she will be able to follow his steps." Trusting your dancing partner is also based on communication: not with talk, but by little movements and body performance.

Kimberly: ´In my study, no course has ever taught me how to put my study into understandable words. That´s a pity, because today there are as many media to communicate as there are different dances.´ Her solution: the university needs a dancing teacher, to teach students to lead others and to help others to follow us. 'Are you ready to dance?'
