Historically, cancer research has concentrated primarily on tumor cells. However, the cell is never alone but exists within a microenvironment in our bodies, which are mainly healthy. One idea for the future is to help the body to train itself to fight cancer from within, using the microenvironment of the tumor as the objective. This objective may be achieved thanks to new approaches, such as nutraceuticals, that use dietary and natural ingredients for medical purposes.
