    Translating 'snomoible'

    ‘Sajë’ translates into English as ‘sledge’ - a vehicle on runners for conveying loads or passengers over snow or ice, often pulled by draught animals; ‘mobile’ in English means movement, more often than not powered by engine or motor. I guess you could have a ‘borëmotor’ or ‘bormotor’, or ‘borëmobil’, but I think ‘sajëmobil’ is closer in sound to its English counterpart, ‘snowmobile’; captures the evolution of the modern product from simple sledge to engine powered[1]; and highlights a revival of an endangered Albanian word, ‘sajë’.
