-
As a leader of one of the small groups, there's
not a lot involved in it in case if you're
-
feeling like you're not equipped to lead a
group like this in your home or at church,
-
let me tell you, you are.
-
You're really just administrating this, facilitating
the group.
-
But the word of God is what really is leading
the group.
-
People are just chiming in on the word of
God.
-
And we really enjoyed the cadence of the scriptures.
-
That he helped me get more understanding of
what the scripture is saying.
-
The whole idea is to get everyone involved.
-
Whoever's going to look at these scriptures
and stick around are those that are real,
-
true disciples that are gonna follow Christ
because they're very challenging.
-
There's no excuse for us to think that he
deserves anything but all.
-
Welcome to this video, where I'm going to
present something very exciting to you.
-
It is going to be a little longer video, where
I'm going to talk about this.
-
I'm going to talk about this paper.
-
I'm going to talk about something called Bible
Discovery groups.
-
And I know you will be excited.
-
And I encourage anyone, everyone out there,
no matter who you are, but especially you,
-
who work with The Last Reformation, who have
seen our videos to really take this to your
-
heart, receive this, start to do it, start
to obey.
-
Because what I'm going to present to you is
something we had been working with, especially
-
the last half year like really, really strong
and it is beautiful.
-
The fruits are so amazing.
-
We see discovery groups, Bible discovery groups
start all over Florida, we see so much fruit
-
in this, so much good fruit, so much everlasting
fruit.
-
And I believe this is an important step of
the call God has given us in making disciples.
-
Take this video.
-
This is just going to be the first video out
of many videos, where we are going to present
-
it to you.
-
First, I want to share this piece of paper.
-
This is a piece of paper we actually have
on our shop right now.
-
You can order them in a package of 50 where
you can take this and you can use them in
-
your group to hand out to those people you
are doing the Bible discovery groups together
-
with.
-
I want you to read the text on the paper first
and talk about it and I also put it up on
-
the screen here, so it's easier for you to
see.
-
If we take the front of the paper here, it
is written Family on a Mission to Make Disciples.
-
What I believe is, that we as families and
now we talking about families of the churches,
-
of the fellowship, I'm also talking about
family as man and wife and children.
-
We as a household and we as the church should
be people, who is on a mission to make disciples.
-
We are all called to make disciples.
-
And this easy tool here will be so easy for
you as a family to use your living room to
-
invite friends and neighbors, to sit down
with them and you without ever really have
-
been leading up starting a church before,
maybe even have experience in leadership and
-
how to run a fellowship.
-
You can, with this tool, actually start to
do your own fellowships at home.
-
And you can be a family that is on a mission
together and you can make disciples.
-
But we as the body of Christ, we are also
a family.
-
And this is a tool for all of us, no matter
where we are.
-
On this paper I'm written up, we have written
up three steps people can take.
-
It doesn't have to be exactly these steps,
that you take step one first and then step
-
two and then step three.
-
You can start with step two if you want and
go into step three.
-
But I want to present what is on this paper
here.
-
First step we read here is step one.
-
Go through the Kickstart packages and host
you own kickstart.
-
The Kickstart packages, I have some clips
here, the Kickstart packages is amazing, amazing
-
tool, we had just given out.
-
IT is an app you can use on your telephone,
it is also a page on the website.
-
You can go directly in on your computer and
it is a book for you, who are hosting your
-
own kickstarts and it's a workbook for those
who are joining the Kickstart you are hosting
-
in your home.
-
So the Kickstart packages is all those things
combined together with seven videos.
-
It's not the same as a kickstart weekend.
-
Kickstart weekend is something we sometimes
do, where people come to us and we share the
-
word and we train people and take them out,
it is a little the same, but still not.
-
Here there is so much more teaching, there
is so much deeper and we go so much more deeper
-
in the word.
-
There are beautiful pictures, beautiful illustrations,
as you can see here.
-
And it's really powerful.
-
And even if you have been on a Kickstart weekend
before, I encourage you to go to the kickstart
-
app here or go to the seven videos on the
Kickstart packages, because this is powerful.
-
The Kickstart packages is a foundation that
is so, so important to lay for everyone, the
-
way you can use the Kickstart packages, you
can go through it alone, but then after you're
-
gone through it alone, you can host a kickstart,
a mini kickstart with the Kickstart packages
-
in your home.
-
You can invite friends and neighbors, people
from church, people you know, people don't
-
know and you can put the videos on, put them
on the big TV screen, give out the workbook,
-
if you want to use that to those people, who
are joining and you can then let the teaching
-
teach for you and let people see the truth.
-
Then you lay hands on them and they get healed
and you lay hands on them and you baptize
-
them in water and Holy Spirit and you can
take them out on the street and kickstart
-
them, that way.
-
So the Kickstart packages is an amazing, amazing
tool.
-
That is very easy to do.
-
You don't need to be strong in the word.
-
You don't need to have a lot of experience
with leading a group or a discipleship.
-
Why?
-
It is all given to you, it is given already.
-
You just get the book, get the workbook, put
the movie, your videos on and we are doing
-
all the work or most of the work for you.
-
So the Kickstart packages, go through that
and host your own Kickstart, what we say is
-
step number one, because it's so easy to do.
-
Step number two is start a simple Bible discovery
group.
-
But again, if you have any experience and
so on, I still encourage you to go through
-
the Kickstart packages because the teaching
is amazing, is much deeper than anything we
-
have ever done.
-
But if you have experience already with it,
you can also just the step 2 here can be your
-
step 1, start our Bible Discovery Group and
in this video I'm going to spend a lot of
-
time talking about what is a Bible discovery
group.
-
And as I said before, we are going to come
out with more videos later, with more details,
-
with more pictures, with more videos of practical,
how it look like in the homes.
-
But that could be step two.
-
But it doesn't stop there.
-
Step three, start a new Jesus fellowship or
lets say start a New Testament church or a
-
New Testament fellowship, a New Testament
family as it is.
-
And this is what we are called to do, start
churches, to start fellowships.
-
And here are two simple steps you can do first
and then start a fellowship, to start a fellowship,
-
where everything it demands, is much more
difficult.
-
But we want to help you in this.
-
We want to disciples you in this.
-
And we have already on our website put up
a page called Jesus Fellowship.
-
You can see there on our website, where there
is so much more information.
-
But we want to connect with you.
-
We have people travelling around in the world
now and starting to work with house planning
-
and fellowships and are there to help you,
help you to host a mini Kickstart, help you
-
to start a Bible discovery group and help
you especially to start a fellowship, but
-
to start fellowship, take a little more experience
and you have to be a little more mature in
-
your faith to really be able to do that.
-
But here are some good steps you could start
with.
-
I will read the text here and you can read
it with me.
-
What is I kickstart?
-
What is the kickstart package?
-
It is seven videos with an app, workbook and
a leader book, that teach you, how to become
-
a disciple.
-
It's easy to go through and use to host your
own mini kickstart.
-
Next, what is a Bible Discovery Group?
-
It is a simple tool you can use to start your
own Bible study groups.
-
Letting the Bible be the focus.
-
In these Bible Discovery Group You easily
be able to use Scripture to ministry to everyone
-
and allow all to participate.
-
And there is a scripture and then using the
back side of this card.
-
And here I would come back to this.
-
And then what is a Jesus Fellowship?
-
It is a New Testament fellowship, a living
of disciples, living together and growing
-
into the image of Christ, get started today.
-
And then there is a link to the page we have:
Jesus Fellowship page.
-
And there is also the link to the Web, to
the map, so you can connect with people near
-
you.
-
This is the card.
-
And then now we want to go deep into this.
-
We want to talk about what is a Bible discovery
group?
-
First time I got introduced to a Bible discovery
group was maybe, I don't know, 15 years ago,
-
we were working with churches planning in
Denmark, and we are doing churches plans the
-
more traditional way.
-
And then I got in contact with different networks
and movements like this simple church movement,
-
the house church movement also disciples making
movements called DMM.
-
And most of those simple churches, House Fellowships,
DMM disciples making movements all use this
-
discovery Bible study method way of studying
the Bible, also called DBS is discovery bible
-
study.
-
It is many, many, many years old and no one
really know where it came from or how it started,
-
because I think it's just a simple way to
read the Bible.
-
And I got introduced with that and I start
to work a little with it.
-
But I got a little disappointing in the beginning
because we heard a lot of numbers of multiplication
-
and how it grew and grew like that in all
of the other countries, poor countries and
-
third world countries and so on.
-
But in Europe, where I was in America, it
never really exploded.
-
But after working with this for some years,
God really introduced me to the whole discipleship,
-
hands on training, how to preach the gospel,
heal the sick, cast out demons and all of
-
that.
-
And I've been working mostly with that, we
have been working mostly with that the last
-
10-12 years.
-
But now I feel those two things come together
again, because when you then do this together
-
with healing the sick, casting out demons,
together with having a focus on the harvest
-
and finding the person of peace and reaching
out to the lost and casting out demons there
-
and the full gospel with baptism in water,
repentance, Holy Spirit, then it is exploding.
-
Then it is powerful because the Bible Discovery
Group, you can do in any kind of setting and
-
church, you can do it in a Catholic church,
in a Lutheran church, Baptist church, in every
-
kind of denomination.
-
And you can just use other scriptures than
the scriptures we are using.
-
And you can do it without talking about the
Holy Spirit at all.
-
You just don't look at the Holy Spirit.
-
You can do without talking about baptism.
-
You just keep those verses away.
-
But when you have understand the power of
God and the gospel and know the heart of Christ
-
to seek and save those who are lost and then
do this, it is exploding and we have seen
-
that, we know of groups here in Florida, who
have been have been kickstarted,
-
who have been reaching out to many people
and who have been really working with discipleship
-
and it have also grown like groups where they
are maybe like 30, 40 people.
-
But there have been contact with so many more
people to the kickstarts and they reach out
-
on the street and all of that and have been
praying for so many more, who have got healed
-
and set free and even who have been baptized.
-
But that group had not been able to grow more
than those 30, 40 people.
-
But then we introduced them to this.
-
And when they took this and we introduced
them to other people we know and love, who
-
also work with us, and they helped them also
to disciple them and share life with them.
-
And when they took it, it just exploded.
-
And we know our groups who went from 40 to
over 200 in a half year, where now they had
-
groups who have started groups who have started
groups and actually in the fourth generation
-
of disciple groups, so now we say two hundred
but next time be four hundred , than eight
-
hundred and maybe 16 hundred, it is growing
all over.
-
And I know of just three places close to us
here, one have like 12 groups.
-
One had ten groups, one have 8 groups, and
it is growing with mature disciples.
-
And when I was on the road trip last time
across America, someone you heard about every
-
place we did a kickstart, we said set up those
bible discovery groups and people are still
-
growing, still multiplying, and the fruit
is beautiful.
-
And so is something we have been working a
little under the radar, especially the last
-
half year a lot.
-
But now it is time to get it out to all of
you out there and especially everyone who
-
work with the Last Reformation I encourage
you to go this way, go to the Kickstart paackages
-
first.
-
It's not the same as a kickstart weekend.
-
You will be surprised when you go to the kickstart
package and find out what is actually is.
-
Many people think, oh, I've already been on
a Kickstart weekend.
-
I don't need to kickstart package.
-
You'll be surprised.
-
Go through it, the teaching, the illustration
is really powerful and then take this.
-
You can just take a picture of it, use the
scriptures, make it own, but you can also
-
go in and order the cards very cheap on our
website, there is a Link, together with this
-
video where you can get the cards shipped
to you and you can start to hand it out.
-
So everyone who joined, who have the card,
they can put it in the bible and then they
-
know exactly where are we?
-
What verses are we reading next time?
-
And when they go home, they have the verses
with them and they can go deeper into the
-
verses.
-
So let's talk about what it is.
-
The Bible discovery groups is a kind of Bible
study.
-
But what is special with this kind of Bible
study is, that is not one man who are preaching.
-
Some teachers have really difficulty with
some of it.
-
Why?
-
Because they're so used to teaching, teaching,
teaching, teaching.
-
In this concept, the word is teaching and
we are hearing from everyone.
-
So the leader is sometimes truly that person
who are saying less.
-
The leader of a Bible discovery group is not
teaching everyone, what the word is saying.
-
The leader is just facilitating or helping
everyone to be heard.
-
So the leader will more be a guy, a person
who are saying, yes, who starts?
-
Can you start with the first verse?
-
And then let people read the verses and then,
OK, let's talk about these verses and make
-
sure, that somebody don't take over the lead
and talks to much and somebody don't go too
-
far away from the verses.
-
But we keep the focus to those verses we are
looking at and then let the Holy Spirit reveal,
-
what is all about.
-
The Bible Discovery Group, we have put it
up, you can decide the length of how it is,
-
but we have put up eight weeks.
-
And I like something like that, that if you
do one time per week, it is eight weeks.
-
If you do two time per week, it is four weeks,
but there are eight times You meet in a Bible
-
discovery group like we do here.
-
And I think what is important there is, that
when you reach people and get in contact with
-
people.
-
First thing, if you have a church already,
a house fellowship, it is not always a good
-
idea to invite them directly into your house
fellowship.
-
Because the wrong person in a house fellowship
can mess it all up and every house fellowship
-
we are working with out there, all when I
say that all like, oh, if I did not know that,
-
thank you for telling me now, if I just knew
that, because they've all experienced the
-
same, they're all experienced people, they
invited in to the fellowship, people who seems
-
open and interesting, but when they came in,
they just spread a lot of false teaching and
-
messed it all up and spoke about people in
a bad manner and saw a level, they ended up
-
destroying the whole group, spread to other
people, and they actually ended up needing
-
to deal with those people and send them away.
-
But now they have spread, what they brought
to the fellowship to other people also leave
-
the fellowship.
-
I think that's why this is a good step, before
you invite them into the fellowship, you already
-
have, because if they give you eight weeks
to get to know people and to find out, where
-
are they and make sure that they're truly
saved born again, so you can invite them in.
-
And then you all in the group now had the
same foundation.
-
And you would by doing this, you avoid so
many problems by starting this way.
-
Eight weeks Discovery Group could if you don't
have a fellowship, it could also be something
-
after those eight weeks, you really got to
know those groups and you had become a family.
-
And that group after the eight weeks go in
and host new Bible Discovery Group with other
-
people, or take a step further after that,
done that a few times and now we are Bible,
-
New Testament, Jesus Fellowship, where we
look at more than those scriptures here because
-
there is much more than those scriptures.
-
So a Bible discovery group can be a good first
step before you invite people into your fellowship
-
or it can end up doing more Bible discovery
groups and multiply that way.
-
And after time, it transcend into a New Testament
House Fellowship that is growing.
-
So is an amazing tool to begin with.
-
What is also good with having an eight weeks
program is, that is very healthy for people
-
to commit to something.
-
If you ask people, hey, we have a Bible study
the next two years, we want you to commit
-
to it.
-
Can you do that?
-
Most people say: No, sorry, I cannot do that.
-
I cannot commit to two years, like, come on.
-
But if you say: Hey, we have an eight weeks
program, is that something you want to commit
-
with?
-
We would like you to commit to this.
-
And let's go to the Bible, give eight weeks,
one time per week, and let's study the Bible
-
together, it is something everyone can do.
-
Everyone can do eight weeks and therefore
they have committed to something instead of
-
not committing to anything.
-
If you just say: Hey, we have a Bible study,
do you want to come?
-
Yeah, I can come.
-
And then they come one day, one time, maybe
two times.
-
And then because they're not committed to
anything, then they drift away and other things
-
come in and disturb them.
-
And suddenly they're like, yeah, maybe, maybe
I should do something else instead.
-
And they don't join the fellowship anymore
and it doesn't become more.
-
And this is often happening if you don't commit
to anything because Satan is a liar and he
-
wants to put fear in people and doubt, make
people become busy with other things in this
-
life, that are not important.
-
But if they have committed to eight weeks,
then after one week and two weeks, if Satan
-
comes, they feel under attack and they're
like, OK, maybe I want to do something.
-
I really don't want to go tonight.
-
And I have a hard day of work and.
-
No, I promise.
-
I promise I need to go.
-
And they will miss me if I don't come.
-
I need to finish what I have started.
-
By doing that you will win so many, many,
many more people then just say, come and join,
-
if you can.
-
This is another amazing reason for doing those
eight weeks Bible discovery groups, that people
-
commit to something and eight weeks is a good
time to get to know them.
-
Yes, there will be people who drift away.
-
There will always be people after one day
and one week or two weeks who say, no, it's
-
not something for me and than drift away,
let it be like that.
-
But you will see so much more fruit because
those who continue to eight weeks, most of
-
them will be fully born again, have a foundation
and you actually have fellowship, you know
-
them.
-
And most of them will like to join and continue
joining the fellowship or continue new discovery
-
bible groups with you or join the fellowship
after those eight weeks.
-
So in that sense, it is amazing.
-
Eight weeks also give you a chance to really
lay a foundation and go through the basic
-
in Christianity.
-
And this is really a basic thing.
-
The first we talk about disciples.
-
The disciples are followers, not converts.
-
Next week is repentance.
-
Then it is faith toward God.
-
Then baptism in water and than baptism with
the Holy Spirit and that is our foundation.
-
Then is resurrection from the dead and eternal
judgement.
-
And all of this is what you read in the Hebrew
Chapter six.
-
That's the foundation of our faith.
-
Then after those six weeks with the foundation,
we talk about relationship with God, love
-
God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength,
and love your neighbor as yourself and talk
-
about prayer as access to God and how we pray
and prayer life.
-
And then we end eight weeks with preach the
good news, heal the sick and cast out demons
-
and how to make disciples and be in a fellowship.
-
So that is the basic we have put together
here.
-
And I want to go through it a little and be
very practical in how it works.
-
And I would try to maybe try to illustrate
it and so on.
-
And there are a lot of things in this video
being said, and you can take notes and you
-
can go through it again and again.
-
A good size, our experience, a good size for
Bible discovery groups is…
-
It's actually around 10 people, 10, 12 people,
if you are 15, 20, it is very, very difficult
-
to hear everyone.
-
It is to big.
-
You can do it, but some people will not be
heard, if you are over 12 people normally.
-
10 is good, 8 is also good, and what we all
experience is, if you start with like six
-
or seven, that could be some people who drift
away after a week or two.
-
There's always people drifting away who say
is nothing for me.
-
If you start with six and a two people are
drifting away, you end up with 4.
-
If there are 4 people drift away, You end
up with two out of 6 that is very, very small.
-
You would not have the same conversation with
each other and play as if you start with 12
-
and there would be two people who drift away.
-
So you would still have 10, if 4 drift away
you still have 8 and 8 is a beautiful number,
-
it is a number where you can easily sit in
a living room.
-
You don't need to rent a place.
-
You can sit around in the living room.
-
You can sit around a sofa, you can have coffee
on the table.
-
So 8, 10, 12 people is what we experience
is the best size on a group like this.
-
The way it works is that you invite people
over, you can meet in your homes, you go to
-
meet on cafe places if you want, you can meet
on Panera Bread or coffees or McDonalds, every
-
place, find a coffee place near you.
-
But we encourage people to still meet in homes
if it is possible, because besides the Bible
-
Discovery Group, beside going through the
scripture, there will also be a time of ministering
-
to each other.
-
And it will be much easier to do that in a
home.
-
But if you don't have a place to meet, don't
let that hinder you.
-
Many people do a Bible Discovery group where
they just do it in an hour and you can go
-
to the scripture in an hour but our experience
with those people we work with and the groups
-
we have is, we encourage people to sit a two
hour off, because then there would be one
-
hour of discovering the Bible together, one
hour of going through the scriptures.
-
But there will also be time for fellowship,
there'll be time for sharing testimony, there
-
will be time to ministry to each other.
-
So two hours is what we often encourage people
to set off.
-
What you can do is when you invite people
to two hours, use the first around twenty
-
minutes, it again.
-
You don't have to be so strict, but it's just
our experience with those groups, we are working
-
with, if you use the first like fifteen, twenty
minutes to talk, get to know each other, talk
-
around, go around and greet people and talk
and start off by: Hey anyone, how have your
-
week been like?
-
What about you and anything, testimony, something
people want to share that have happened during
-
the week, keep it short and then people can
share a little and get started and so on.
-
And after you had a time where you have started
and this you can start out with prayer, you
-
go and take a song not worship the whole night,
it is to discover the Bible, we are there
-
not to worship.
-
So take a song and worship God and focus and
start up with a prayer.
-
And then you go into the Bible.
-
There is the main focus and the person who
are leading the meeting is then saying, OK,
-
do we have our papers?
-
Let's look at the papers today.
-
Together today we are going to look at disciples.
-
The disciples are followers, not converts.
-
It's not about just being a convert.
-
It's about following Christ as a disciple.
-
And let's look at the scripture.
-
So who wants to start?
-
Who wants to read the first verse here, Matthew
28, 18-20?
-
And then somebody read the verse and everyone
sit with the bible.
-
You can print the papers out if you want the
verses and give to people but encourage people
-
to use the Bible.
-
Most people use the Bible on the telephone
now, I use it on my telephone and I like the
-
Bible on the telephone.
-
But it's even better if you can actually have
a real Bible, because then you can line under,
-
you can take notes and line under what the
Bible verses is saying.
-
and it's much better.
-
So you start and then you have the first verse
and somebody read it.
-
Matthew 28.
-
And you may know that already to go out and
make disciples of all nation, baptize them
-
and so on.
-
And you take one verse and then you talk about
it.
-
And the way we do it and the way it works
is that every time we look at a scripture,
-
we ask often four questions or three questions
at least.
-
The first question is: What do this scripture,
what do this verse tell about God?
-
What do this verse tell about God?
-
What do it tell about Jesus?
-
What do this tell about the Holy Spirit?
-
Next question.
-
What do this verse tell about man?
-
About me, about us.
-
And last question.
-
What do we need to do with this scripture?
-
How do we, how can we obey the scripture?
-
And then you can add one more.
-
How can I tell this to other people?
-
But this are the main four questions people
often need to ask themselves.
-
We read a scripture.
-
What do this tell about God?
-
And then we say: What do this tell about God?
-
And people start a conversation about this
and this, and what does it tell about man?
-
and What does it tell about us? and What do
we need to obey?
-
And you go through it.
-
And then when you have looked at one scripture
and you have talked than keep it to that scripture,
-
don't go too far away, it is disciples we
are looking at now.
-
Don't go too far down the rabbit hole away
from, keep the focus.
-
And that is what a leader should do.
-
Just keep the focus and other people talk.
-
And then you will see how the Holy Spirit
starts to take over and just become a conversation.
-
And it's very powerful.
-
It's really, really powerful, because it's
not the word of man, it is the word of God.
-
There is authority in the word of God.
-
And then you go to the next scriture, the
next scripture and I have two of the scriptures
-
here in the first day.
-
I would like to read on this paper we have
here Matthew 10, 24-25 and this is what Matthew
-
10 is saying:
A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a
-
servant above his Lord.
-
It is enough that the disciple to be like
his teacher and the servant as his Lord.
-
If they have called him master of the house
Beelzebul, how much more than of his household?
-
So you read that scripture and then like,
OK, what do this say about God?
-
What does it say about man?
-
What do we need to obey?
-
Yeah.
-
What is it about, man?
-
Is he clear in the beginning, that it says,
that we as disciples, we are not above our
-
teacher and that means that Jesus, he's our
Lord but Jesus is also our teacher.
-
This is what the bible is saying here.
-
So we are not above him, but it is enough
for the disciples, you and me, that we should
-
be as our teacher, so Jesus, our teacher,
he is our Lord, we are the disciple, we are
-
the servant, and we should become like our
teacher.
-
He should be like our master, this is what
the Bible is saying.
-
What more?
-
He also say that if they call our Master Beelezebul,
that mean Lord of the demons, So people are
-
calling Jesus bad names.
-
But if they call him bad names, we read here,
how much more will they not call us bad names.
-
So so you just read the scripture and then
you ask anyone else who got something out
-
of it.
-
And yet it's actually like apprenticeship,
like we enter into apprenticeship where we
-
follow our master and the whole purpose with
this apprenticeship is to become like our
-
master.
-
That is correct.
-
Anything else?
-
Yeah, it's actually really interesting the
whole thing that we should expect that people
-
would call us bad things and nicknames and
lie against us and the bible also said that.
-
And then you talk about the scripture and
you let the scripture speak for itself.
-
And anyone who have something to add about
the verse here.
-
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
-
It was just like when I read, it's just the
whole thing of servant and Lord that when
-
we actually call Jesus Lord.
-
Lord.
-
That means that we are his servant and a servant
is somebody who obey.
-
So it's not just that he want to us to confess
him as Lord, he want us to be a servant and
-
lay down our life for him and obey him, and
then we talk about scripture, beautiful, beautiful.
-
More, who have something and we let the scripture
speak.
-
And sometimes the Holy Spirit just came and
correct it.
-
And when we feel like you are finished, that
OK.
-
More?
-
What about the next verse?
-
Who can read that?
-
That is the nephew.
-
Ten thirty sevenMatthew 10, 37 and we read
here now.
-
Anyone who loves their father and mother more
than me is not worthy of me, anyone who loves
-
their son and daughter more than me are not
worthy of me.
-
Everyone who do not take their cross and follow
me are not worthy of me.
-
Everyone who finds their life will lose it,
and whoever loses his life for my sake will
-
find it.
-
A strong word.
-
A strong word.
-
What does it say about God?
-
What does it say about man?
-
What does it say about me?
-
And what you can do in the Bible if you have
a Bible, you can then say that, you decide
-
for you, you can find a way like every verse
that is about God, you can line sign like
-
a line under it.
-
Every verse that talk about man, you can put
a box around it.
-
Every verse that we need to obey, You can
put a circle around it.
-
That is one way to do it.
-
So when you sit with the Bible, you can like
line under or box around or a circle about
-
it, like so when you go into the Bible later
and look at the verses, you can find then
-
all the verses with boxes.
-
This is something, you know, that is about
God.
-
All the words are with a circle or you can
do it in another way, You know, this is something
-
I need to obey, so you can go to the Bible
and then look through the pages.
-
What does that verses say about God?
-
This, this, this, this, this.
-
What does it say about man?
-
This, this, this, this, this.
-
What do I need to obey? this, this, this,
this is this.
-
And then you can go into the Bible suddenly
I need to obey this, I need to obey this,
-
I need to obey this.
-
And by doing this, by asking those simple
questions, we come alive in amazing, amazing
-
way.
-
You can also use colors, red, blue, green,
if you have things to color with and some
-
people even print out the verses before and
actually color it.
-
But you can do that if you want.
-
But it's also amazing to find it yourself
like what does it say about man?
-
What does it say about God?
-
What do I need to obey?
-
And you can even add one more.
-
Who can I tell about it?
-
And then you can think of people.
-
I need to go and tell about this afterwards.
-
So this is how it works.
-
And it's really amazing, amazing simple tool,
where we get the word in.
-
And now we look at this.
-
Anyone who loves their father and mother more
than me are not worthy of me.
-
Anyone who loves their son and daughter more
than me is not worthy of me, whoever does
-
not take up their cross and follow me, is
not worthy of me, whoever finds their life
-
will loose it and whoever loses their life
for my sake, will find it.
-
And then conversations start.
-
That is a really strong verse and then one
maybe add without going far away, yet the
-
bible says that in another place if you don't
hate your mom and dad, but this is actually
-
what Jesus means that our love to him should
be so much more than our love to our mom and
-
dad.
-
Yeah, but that was also what Jesus said on
one time, like who's my mom?
-
Who's my dad?
-
Those who do the will of God and so on, it
is not that he hate them, but there is a spiritual
-
family here and some people like I'm not there.
-
I'm not there like I love my mom and dad more
than I love Jesus.
-
Some people maybe or maybe I actually love
my job more than I love Jesus.
-
But what does that mean then, if you love
your job more than you love Jesus?
-
That means I'm not worthy of him, like, that
is very radical and sometimes it is quiet
-
and you pray and you think about it.
-
Some people open up, I'm not, I don't think
I'm there yet.
-
What do we need to do to come there?
-
And we go to the next verse, talk about counting
the cost.
-
And you let the Bible speak to you.
-
And the first day we took very clear scripture
about discipleship and why?
-
Because it's so good to really lay a foundation
and then maybe they're not ready first time,
-
but continue.
-
Please continue in this disciple group with
us and let the Holy Spirit convince you, so
-
you come to that point that you are ready
to take up the cross and follow him, because
-
this is what we need to do if we otherwise
we are not worthy of him and let the scripture
-
speak and let the Holy Spirit work.
-
And what you do, you spend that time on the
verses.
-
And we often say you spend around an hour,
take around an hour where you let the verses
-
speak and then let the verses speak to you,
after an hour, you can take a time in prayer.
-
Let's take a little time to pray and you just
pray and let the Holy Spirit lead you.
-
After the first day, where we talk about discipleship,
that are followers of Christ, not converts.
-
After an hour then maybe have a general prayer,
then you still have like a good half hour,
-
40 minutes left.
-
If you use 20 minutes in the beginning, use
one hour on the scripture.
-
You still have like a forty minutes left where
it could be beautiful, especially if there
-
are really new people with testimonies, where
some people say, I would like to share testimonies
-
today.
-
And you have maybe prepared some people from
the team who are leading it to share some
-
testimonies.
-
Let me share testimony.
-
I was I in church for many, many years and
I was a Convert, I have said yes, but I was
-
not a disciple.
-
I am really not said yes.
-
I'm really not taking my cross up.
-
And when I became a disciple, when Jesus got
the first place in my life, it just changed
-
everything.
-
And then those people share about their life
from being a convert to becoming a disciple.
-
And they share their testimony, other people
share the testimony, share a little more about
-
what a disciple is and those people who are
new in that life, wow I just hear the word
-
we saw, we read in the Bible, became alife
through those testimonies.
-
And then you can minister to each other if
you feel like and pray for another, anyone
-
need healing?
-
Anyone need freedom?
-
And actually you start to minister to people
already in the beginning.
-
So there is room to do more, but every group
is dependent on, the focus is those people
-
who are there.
-
So it's not a method, it's not a model where
you always do the same and same and same exactly.
-
It depends on who's there.
-
If there are new people knowing nothing, You
spend more time with them and talk about,
-
if there is the issue, spend time on share
testimony.
-
You can pray for people if there are people
who are sick, if there is no one who is sick
-
you maybe not pray for people for healing
like that.
-
But you do other things.
-
So spend time and talk about it and this and
then you say: OK, look forward to see you
-
next time.
-
Take this card with you home, put it in the
Bible and read the verses and think of it
-
and see you next time.
-
And then they go home and they have time to
pray about it and meditate and think of the
-
verses they have heard.
-
And then you come next time, spend 20 minutes,
10-20 minutes or a half hour.
-
Hey, how is it?
-
And here are some short testimony.
-
People can maybe say who they are a little,
introduce themselves a little more.
-
Share anyone have a strong experience that
last week?
-
Yes.
-
This and this and this about being a disciple
or anyone who have thought about it?
-
Yes, I thought a lot about it and this and
this and spend a little time.
-
But again, the leader's job is somehow help
to not get off track and to be led by the
-
Holy spirit.
-
And then today we are going to focus.
-
Let's go to the scripture, today we are going
to look at repentance.
-
Let's start with the first verse here.
-
And this is Matthew 4,17.
-
Who wants to read it?
-
You read.
-
Everyone go to the bible: From that time on,
Jesus began to preach: Repent, for the kingdom
-
of God has come near.
-
What does that say about God?
-
That Jesus, that the first verse that came
was Repent.
-
That was actually the first word that came
out of his mouth.
-
Why should repent for the Kingdom of God have
come near.
-
OK.
-
And we talked a little about it.
-
Does it say anything about us?
-
Not directly here, but still we know that
we are put here in Christs place.
-
And maybe the first word that should come
out of our mouth is also repent.
-
Do you say anything, is there anything we
need to do then?
-
We need to preach repentance to people.
-
OK, let's move on and then you speak about
scripture, next verse.
-
You can take next verse.
-
Here is John 3,7-9.
-
And we read here, John the Baptist he said:
John said to a crowd coming out to be baptized
-
by him: You brood of vipers!
-
Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?
-
Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
-
And do not say to yourself, we have Abraham
as our father, for I tell you, out of these
-
stones, God can raise up children for Abraham.
-
The ax is already at the root of the tree,
and every tree who do not produce good fruit
-
will be cut down and thrown into a fire.
-
What does that say about God?
-
That there is a wrath coming from God?
-
What does it say about man?
-
Anything we need to do?
-
Yes, it says that produce fruit, keeping with
a repentance, this fruit we need to produce.
-
And it says that we should not come with excuses,
don't say to yourself, I have Abraham as father.
-
So today, will we say that or is there anything
else we would say maybe?
-
Or don't say to yourself, I'm going in a church.
-
Don't say to yourself, I'm already a Christian.
-
If the fruit is not there, then we will be
cut down and thrown into the fire.
-
It's not about confession and what we are
saying, it is about the fruit.
-
Anything else is saying?
-
John, he said to the crowd who came out to
be baptized by him.
-
So maybe we should not baptize people who
have not repented.
-
That was a good one.
-
And you talk about scripture, then you go
to Scripture acts 3,19: Repent then and turn
-
to God so that your sins may be wiped out
that times of refreshing may come from the
-
Lord.
-
So repentance and then turn to God.
-
So repentance is a turn away from sin, but
it's also turning to God.
-
OK, why do we turn away from our sin and turn
to God?
-
So our sins may be wiped out.
-
Can our sins be wiped out without repentance?
-
No, no, no.
-
And then you go to scripture and you let scripture
speak to people.
-
This is the highest authority we have.
-
That is the word of God, the scripture is
not a man and his translation is scripture.
-
And people cannot say, I disagree with your
interpretation.
-
And I actually did not share any interpretation.
-
I just read what the scripture was saying.
-
So if you disagree, then talk with the guy
behind the scripture, talk with God about,
-
it's not man, you are against, it is God,
you are against, if you disagree with this.
-
Can see it, can you see how powerful it becomes,
when you just let scripture speak?
-
And after second day, second week there, when
you look at repentance, then afterward there
-
could be testimony time, where somebody could
say, yeah, I want to share.
-
And you have maybe already prepared a little
testimony time, that I want to share something,
-
that I've been in church for years, but I
never I never really repented.
-
I did not see sin, in my church they only
talk about the love of God, love of God, love
-
of God.
-
Never heard anything about sin.
-
Never.
-
But a few years ago I heard about sin and
I read some of those verses and I repented
-
and I just said, it changed my life, I got
a new heart.
-
When I repented, I put my faith in God, I
got a new heart.
-
You share testimonies like that and those
who are not yet repentant they hear that,
-
they see: there's freedom and we have like
confess your sins, also in this and how to
-
repent and so on, different verses.
-
And then you can like, let's take a time and
just pray, can we do that?
-
And let's close our eyes and pray and say:God,
we pray that you reveal sin to all of us.
-
God come with your Holy Spirit, God, and show
us if there areas we have not repented.
-
If there are things we need to repent for,
show as God and take a time where the Holy
-
Spirit is ministering to people, let the Holy
Spirit work.
-
Show us, show us ,God, do we have sins, things
we need to repent for, maybe put even worship
-
on and have a time and let people confess
their sins in front of God.
-
And then you can say like and they can't be
led by the Holy Spirit.
-
You can say like, OK, anyone who really need
prayer about those sins and lift up your hand
-
and we come and pray to you.
-
And some people lift up their hand and you
go and you pray to them and talk with them
-
and lead them in a prayer repentance and minister
to them, have a time of ministry time.
-
And it's very, very powerful.
-
It is beautiful.
-
And then you lead them in a ministry time
and God is working in them and they are repenting.
-
And there you also see sometimes, those two
hours are not enough.
-
So you can ask somebody say, hey, do you want
to stay back and let's talk a little more?
-
Or you go say, hey, can we meet during this
week one to one and do a little one to one
-
discipleship about repentance during the week?
-
And then, so keep open, that there will be
times you meet outside this evening or this
-
afternoon or day when you meet, because you
will need that.
-
It will be important to have room to meet
with people other times, one to one, and do
-
a one on one repentance or discipleship.
-
And already there, fourth week is baptism
in water but if there are people fully repented
-
and cry out and just ready to be baptized.
-
Then you go.
-
So just of course, during the week, take and
baptize and don't hold them two more weeks
-
to be baptized.
-
So it will be a little individual thing that
come up also.
-
And the way people, who are already there
maybe repent, get better, receive the Holy
-
Spirit.
-
So be open for it, have a place ready to baptize,
see how the Holy Spirit is lead.
-
So maybe that will be one, who already understand
the rest and beeing baptized in water and
-
receive Holy Spirit second week.
-
But there are more people not ready yet?
-
They are looking and following that transformation,
that is happening.
-
Third week: fear toward God.
-
Talk about that fourth week: baptism in water.
-
And of course, there you have prepared the
baptism in water and people share testimonies
-
afterwards, when they got baptized and what
that did, fifth week: baptism with the Holy
-
Spirit.
-
But of course, many people already receive
the Holy Spirit, when they got baptized in
-
water.
-
But some people did not maybe and some people
have been baptized, but they received the
-
Holy Spirit the fifth week and then after
those first five weeks, the foundation is
-
really laid.
-
And many, many people have already now been
born again.
-
They have understood, that it's about being
a follower of Christ, disciple, not just a
-
convert, they have understood, what repentance
is, faith toward God, what baptism is, what
-
the baptism with the Holy Spirit is.
-
And they have already repented or got baptized
or received the Holy Spirit and it is beautiful.
-
Some people maybe have given up, it happens,
but work with those who stay.
-
Then you come to the sixth week.
-
Now the foundation is laid.
-
So now then you get to know each other, so
you can maybe more go faster into to the scripture,
-
because you know each other and so on and
spend more time with sharing testimonies also
-
about what happened during the week, how people
met God and so on.
-
But go into the scripture and then in the
second part, there is maybe not so much ministry
-
time to each other, because you already experience
freedom and healing and deliverance and all
-
of that.
-
So there will be more time where you say,
OK, let's let's start to make disciples, let's
-
train you now and in sharing the gospel and
there you, many of the groups we work, we
-
train people in how to share the gospel with
the cops and cookies or the cops we use or
-
the gospel cards you can find.
-
I can put a link in here.
-
You can see the Gospel Cards and, you know,
sit down with them and take a half hour, say,
-
let's go to the gospel cards, because with
all of you and you sit two and two and go
-
to the gospel cards.
-
So it becomes a discipleship course, where
you spend time of welcomes, you spend time
-
on the word, you can also eat together of
course, you go also to share communion and
-
spend a little time on that.
-
But then you go in and you train people to
how to share the gospel and start to get their
-
mind and prepare them for sharing this with
other people.
-
It's around week six.
-
You start to look who could be the leaders,
who could run the next disciple groups.
-
And you start to take those people with you
and start to prepare them and train them to
-
be able to lead the next disciple course,
the Discovery Bible course.
-
So the last three weeks, six, seven, eight,
there'll be more and more training, more and
-
more hands on.
-
And week eight, of course, preach the gospel,
healing the sick, cast out demons, there will
-
be ministry time.
-
But you also go out on the street maybe and
take another time besides this, you have done
-
that already before if you want, of course.
-
But take people out and kickstart them out
on the street and really disciple them in
-
that and then you already there prepare for
the next disciple course.
-
And during those eight weeks, people have
been born again, transformed, set free, healed.
-
They had been sharing their experience with
other people.
-
You can invite new people in after second
week if you want, first and second week, but
-
after week three four, don't invite more people
in, better say, hey, we will start another
-
Bible Discovery Group with you and other people
and maybe even start that midways a new group
-
with other people.
-
So you now send some of your disciples and
say: Can you start with those?
-
So you had two groups running side by side
and then even three, four, five groups, because
-
it's multiplication.
-
It is discipleship, we are talking about here.
-
It is beautiful.
-
And then you start the next Bible Discovery
Group with people and they go through the
-
same.
-
And those people who start joining the group,
can later maybe be leader in another group
-
and those who join then can maybe be leader
in another group.
-
And you start to network between the groups
and help each other.
-
And we want to help you to do this.
-
We have many groups starting all over America
right now and it is growing and it is multiplying.
-
And we are all excited for this.
-
We are here to help you to start this.
-
What we are seeing is, that the best way to
learn is to just do it, jump out.
-
And I've already given so much information
in this video, with this video and get hold
-
of the cards through the website.
-
You can already start to do it.
-
But we also want to hear from you, who are
doing Bible discovery groups, because what
-
we are setting up is Zoom groups of people
in different regions and different areas,
-
who are doing the Bible discovery groups,
where they can share with other people, who
-
are also doing the Bible Discovery Group and
where we have people with us, who are working
-
with us, who are ready to train you, ready
to give you feedback for example I have several
-
WhatsApp groups.
-
I am in right now, where I am getting questions
were like, oh, we had a guy in the group,
-
where it just went crazy.
-
He discussed with the baptism: What shall
we do?
-
And I said, give them feedback.
-
In another place they were invited to actually
hosted in a church.
-
But the youth leader of the church came and
he took completely over and it ended up becoming
-
a sermon from him instead of what he was supposed
to be.
-
And the one who led the group had never led
it before.
-
And it's so good to be in contact with us
and she asedk: What shall I do?
-
And I said: This is what you should do.
-
Just leave the church, go away from church,
meet in a home instead, because it's much
-
easier, be clear with the paster, the youth
leader, he is welcome if he doesn't do this
-
and is because we are not here to fill up
his church.
-
We are here to make disciples.
-
So we want to encourage people.
-
And there are even churches who are doing
this and we help them there.
-
So every person, every place is different.
-
And therefore we together with this, we have
a link to our page with many more videos and
-
much more information, that will come out
soon and where you can fill up a form and
-
let us know, if you have started these Bible
discovery groups and you want us to help you
-
and connect you with other people, who are
starting the same Bible discovery groups.
-
And then we set up Zoom calls, weekly meetings,
training, discipleship, where we can help
-
and disciple you to go through those eight
weeks with people and so on.
-
I would have so much more to say.
-
But we come out with more videos about, I
know is already an hour I have spoken, but
-
we come out with more videos about it later.
-
When you are going through the Bible Discovery
Group two, three, four times, there is more
-
you need to cover of course.
-
There is so much more in christian life than
this, for example in these verses.
-
It doesn't talk about how it is to be a family.
-
It doesn't talk about marriage, sex, relationship.
-
We don't talk about being parents.
-
It don't talk about everyday walk with Christ
in that sense, there's so many things, that
-
is not covered here.
-
And that's why that the first step is start
our Jesus fellowship, where you go even deeper
-
into many other verses.
-
And there it can be the same model with other
verses.
-
But it can also be a very different model,
where you do more outreach together, You live
-
together in communities, You eat a big meal
together, that is actually what communion
-
is, Communion is a big meal you eat to, to
have fellowship and they can take an hour,
-
two hours in itself.
-
And sometimes you don't have that time to
do, You don't have that time here to have
-
a big meal that way.
-
So.
-
Step one in this paper is go to the Kickstart
package, and I really encourage you to see
-
the seven lessons, follow the link in this
description.
-
If you're not done that you will be blessed,
it is so much more different than a kickstart
-
weekend, hosting a kickstart weekend.
-
And that could be step one.
-
Step two or step two.
-
could be step one.
-
Start this group.
-
Invite people or find people near you.
-
Invite them over or ask them, if you want
to go to a eight weeks program with us, then
-
you go through it, you reach out to us through
the link to the website and let us know where
-
you are and how, when you start and how many
people you are and if you need help and what
-
help.
-
We even have people now who start to travel
around, especially in America but also in
-
other countries, who is traveling from place
to place and working with, helping to set
-
up these groups, but also beside helping set
up those groups, helping to transcend from
-
this group into the Jesus fellowships.
-
So we have people and resources and a lot
of tools out there ready to help and equip
-
you.
-
So I'm excited for it.
-
If you have questions and comments ask it,
you can ask the questions and comments also
-
below in this video.
-
And we will do more videos later, where we
will answer some of the questions and comments
-
you may have.
-
So this is just the first video out of many,
where we are looking at this and the next
-
video will be follow up video where we go
into questions and answers and so on.
-
And there will be also videos where we showed
a Zoom call with those people who have already
-
done it and share their experiences and so
on.
-
So many more things are on the way and we
are excited for it.
-
So look at the text, look at the links together
with the video, get the cards, get started.
-
If you don't want to get the cards, you can
just write down the scriptures and make your
-
own cards.
-
It's all about Jesus, all about the kingdom.
-
We are here to help you, to see the kingdom
of God grow.
-
God bless you.
-
Spread this video!
-
Just a little thing.
-
Just a little thing.
-
Last thing: The testimonies we are seeing
are amazing.
-
Everyone loves this, people in our network,
especially the Last reformation has seen so
-
much fruit and we have needed this to really
continue working with those people, we have
-
met out there, because many people sometimes
have been on Kickstart and what is the next
-
step?
-
Or they have reached out to people and learn
to heal the sick, to cast out demons and lead
-
them to God.
-
But what is the next step?
-
What do I now do with it?
-
This is what you do with them.
-
This is the next step for all of you out there.
-
Maybe I should call the video: the next step.
-
I think I'll do that the next step is the
Bible.
-
Discovery groups, Kickstart package or something
like that.
-
Last thing: I just need to add, this is already
translated to Spanish on our website, and
-
we are also translating this soon to other
languages.
-
If you want to help this to be translated
to other languages, you can reach out to us
-
and you will soon get this on our website
in many, many different languages.
-
God bless you all out there.
-
Share this video with everyone out there and
stay tuned.
-
See the links, stay tuned.
-
When we come out with the next videos.
-
Bye bye.
-
God bless you in it.
