    Walk with Moojibaba
    (with subtitles)
  • 0:13 - 0:18
    Love Nourishes Everything
  • 0:18 - 0:21
    [music]
  • 0:25 - 0:27
[Mooji] If you have a plant,
  • 0:27 - 0:34
[M.] and you surround this plant
with a lot of negative energy,
  • 0:34 - 0:39
[M.] suppose there were four people
    around this plant saying,
  • 0:39 - 0:41
    'We don't want you here',
  • 0:41 - 0:44
you feed it every day, put in the sunshine,
  • 0:44 - 0:47
but, 'We don't want you here,
    we don't love you,
  • 0:47 - 0:51
    we don't care for you,
you shouldn't be here', it will die.
  • 0:51 - 0:56
If you have a plant that a lot of people go to
    to take healing,
  • 0:56 - 0:58
It will grow because there's faith there,
  • 0:58 - 1:01
but maybe also it will get weak.
  • 1:01 - 1:05
Plants that you send a lot of love to,
  • 1:05 - 1:10
they will also grow in strength.
  • 1:10 - 1:14
    We use that example.
    It's the same with people.
  • 1:14 - 1:17
    For the most part,
if you don't put love towards them,
  • 1:17 - 1:20
that is the nutrition of life,
  • 1:20 - 1:27
love and faith in God, trust, openness,
  • 1:27 - 1:32
all this is like food for human spirit,
  • 1:32 - 1:35
    if they don't get that,
they get deformed in some way.
  • 1:35 - 1:39
They don't function well and eventually ...
  • 1:39 - 1:43
    I mean, they die,
but they start to die spiritually first
  • 1:43 - 1:45
    and then they die physically.
  • 1:45 - 1:48
You can die spiritually, in a way,
  • 1:48 - 1:51
    and still be alive biologically.
  • 1:51 - 1:54
But there will not be much flavor
    in your life.
  • 1:54 - 1:58
    You'll just feel like
you are just taking up space,
  • 1:58 - 2:01
    that is the worst death.
  • 2:01 - 2:06
    So it's good ....
Even if people are very down,
  • 2:06 - 2:09
even if they've done terrible things,
  • 2:09 - 2:13
    there will always be people
who can turn love towards them,
  • 2:13 - 2:17
    put some amount of attention,
some amount of love towards them.
  • 2:17 - 2:19
    Sometimes it's too late,
  • 2:19 - 2:23
    they are not receptive,
there is nothing to drink that love in,
  • 2:23 - 2:31
    the pores are closed.
But this is the same way when you have ...
  • 2:31 - 2:34
    Maybe this is why
we encourage each other to work,
  • 2:34 - 2:38
because when you work your mind is alive,
    it's more active
  • 2:38 - 2:41
    and you are more receptive
    to correspond with life,
  • 2:41 - 2:43
at the same time, not always fully.
  • 2:43 - 2:46
But one who is really oriented
  • 2:46 - 2:51
towards love and faith and trust in God,
this one is going to grow.
  • 2:51 - 2:53
Even if the body is deformed,
  • 2:53 - 2:58
    inside they are powerful spirit,
    like Ashtavakra.
  • 2:58 - 3:03
His body was all bent up and like this
    and people laughed at him,
  • 3:03 - 3:06
    but he was spiritual dynamo,
  • 3:06 - 3:16
    spiritual powerhouse
of wisdom, insight, divinity and purity.
  • 3:16 - 3:18
I think the story of Ashtavakra was,
  • 3:18 - 3:23
the king wanted to speak with wise people,
    or something like this.
  • 3:23 - 3:25
And he asked for all the wise people to come.
  • 3:25 - 3:29
    People came from all over
and amongst them was this boy
  • 3:29 - 3:32
whose body was deformed in eight places,
    like this.
  • 3:32 - 3:36
And some of the other people in the queue
    were laughing,
  • 3:36 - 3:38
'Where are you going with that?
  • 3:38 - 3:42
You're not going to go very far.
Why are you in this queue?'
  • 3:42 - 3:45
He laughed and they took insult,
    'Why are you laughing?
  • 3:45 - 3:48
What have you got to laugh about?
    Look at you!'
  • 3:48 - 3:51
    He said,
'I'm laughing because I find you funny.
  • 3:51 - 3:56
    Because you feel that
    the deforming of this body
  • 3:56 - 4:00
is the deforming of my Self.'
  • 4:00 - 4:05
    And he was the one
who became the king's guru, in fact.
  • 4:05 - 4:09
    He chose him.
  • 4:09 - 4:14
It is better if you have a bad body
    and a great soul
  • 4:14 - 4:17
than if you are poor in spirit
    and have a great body.
  • 4:17 - 4:22
But it is a question of opinion, of course.
  • 4:22 - 4:26
That's why it's good that you pray,
    you bless others,
  • 4:26 - 4:29
    you bless also your power,
    you empower your spirit
  • 4:29 - 4:32
    because you have good intention,
    good vibration.
  • 4:32 - 4:35
You turn that vibration of goodness
    towards everybody,
  • 4:35 - 4:38
'Bless you! Bless you! Bless you!'
  • 4:38 - 4:41
Then it raises up your power also,
  • 4:41 - 4:44
    because you bless,
you're sending goodwill towards all beings.
  • 4:44 - 4:48
You don't want to keep it for ...
    That makes you selfish.
  • 4:48 - 4:54
To keep wanting to take makes you selfish,
    to give makes you rich.
  • 4:54 - 5:01
    One who gives is rich,
the one who keeps is poor,
  • 5:01 - 5:05
or not just keeps, but clutches.
  • 5:05 - 5:12
But back to the first point,
even if your body is not well,
  • 5:12 - 5:18
but inside you don't have a feeling of blame
    or complaint or so on,
  • 5:18 - 5:20
you keep inside your house clean,
  • 5:20 - 5:25
even if outside looks really raggedy,
    inside is clean, empty,
  • 5:25 - 5:27
    fit for God's presence,
  • 5:27 - 5:32
then you're really living in a mansion.
  • 5:32 - 5:35
But if inside is dirty, dirty feelings,
  • 5:35 - 5:38
but outside looks very fit and everything,
  • 5:38 - 5:44
then you are just touting for business.
  • 5:44 - 5:47
What is good to remember is inside.
  • 5:47 - 5:48
    When you discover the Self,
  • 5:48 - 5:55
it's all purity, all joy, all light.
    Free of desire.
  • 5:55 - 5:57
The one who is free of desire is rich,
  • 5:57 - 6:00
is complete, is content, is happy.
  • 6:00 - 6:05
And this is our final discovery,
    our ultimate Truth,
  • 6:05 - 6:09
    our profound understanding.
  • 6:09 - 6:15
And this is the good news, I feel,
to human kind and all beings.
  • 6:15 - 6:17
    That our inmost Truth,
  • 6:17 - 6:22
and it's not under layers and layers of anything,
    it's right here.
  • 6:22 - 6:27
It only seems to be veiled by our thinking,
  • 6:27 - 6:31
    veiled by our negative thoughts,
    not just by negative thoughts
  • 6:31 - 6:35
    but by accepting negative thoughts,
    identifying with them,
  • 6:35 - 6:39
embracing them, making use of them,
    keeping company with them.
  • 6:39 - 6:47
    If you don't do this,
it is not difficult to feel the space,
  • 6:47 - 6:53
    the peace, the joy,
the light of the living God in you.
  • 6:53 - 6:56
And this is health, that is what in my view,
  • 6:56 - 6:58
    I say, This is health.
  • 6:58 - 7:03
    So health to all beings.
Health to all beings means that,
  • 7:03 - 7:09
may your heart never be shrouded
    by ignorance or arrogance,
  • 7:09 - 7:16
    but be sort of freed
    from the veils of delusion.
  • 7:16 - 7:23
    And be happy.
  • 7:23 - 7:26
    Good! Good! Good!
  • 7:26 - 7:29
    [music]
  • 7:30 - 7:34
    When you discover the Self,
  • 7:34 - 7:36
    it's all purity,
  • 7:36 - 7:38
    all joy,
  • 7:38 - 7:42
    all light.
  • 7:47 - 7:52
    May your heart never be
    shrouded by ignorance or arrogance,
  • 7:53 - 7:57
but be freed from the veils of delusion.
  • 7:59 - 8:05
    And be happy.
