(Isabella) To me dance a way
to gather my thoughts and feelings.

However, let myself go at the same time.

♪ (music) ♪

(McKinley) When I walk into that studio
and start listening to the music,

it helps me forget about everything else.

♪ (music) ♪

(Ben) Dance is a form of self-discovery.

It's a limitless creative language
that we can all use to communicate.

♪ (music) ♪

(Pravda) I am a very shy person by nature,

so expressing myself through words
is rather difficult at times for me,

but when I dance I feel free.

♪ (music) ♪

(Ben) With the support of my mother
and my hometown ballet teacher

I made the decision to audition.

Once I got to NBS,
it really felt like home,

and I knew that this is where
I needed to go to further my training.

♪ (music) ♪

(Pravda) I was given the opportunity

to be in NBS summer school
through a competition.

During the summer school,

I felt that NBS was really a great place
to train and to learn about dance.

♪ (music) ♪

(McKinley) My sisters did ballet,
and I did hip hop,

and I watched them dance
and I felt like I wanted to dance more

than I was in hip hop
and so, I decided to try ballet.

(Isabella) I came to NBS quite later
than other students have, as I am 15.

After coming here for one year,
it has changed my life so much.

(Ben) Dance has taught me
what it means to have a passion in life

and what it means to wake up
every morning with a single goal

and a goal that hopefully and eventually
leads you to happiness

because dance is what I want to do.

Makes me happy.
